Chapter 136: Chapter 136 – Should we deal with her?

Violet arrived at Alex’s mansion and was warmly greeted by the maids before Betty met her downstairs.

"Violet, Madam was brought in a while ago, sleeping, and I’m not sure it’s a good idea to wake her," Betty explained, knowing Violet was there for Joanna.

Violet smiled, already aware of the situation. "I know, but I need to speak with her, so I will wait downstairs."

No matter how tired Joanna was, she wouldn’t leave a party without informing Violet. Violet couldn’t just take Alex’s word for it, no matter how respectable he was.

Betty didn’t think it was right since Violet had always shared a room with Joanna. However, with Joanna in the master’s room, they couldn’t send Violet there. Nevertheless, Betty assigned one of the guest rooms to Violet.

"You don’t have to wait downstairs. The master and madam see you as part of the family, so I will prepare a room for you and get you something to eat.

Violet agreed with the room but not the food and spoke up when Betty had reached the middle of the stairs.

"I’m coming from the buffet, so no need for food. Some water will do, but I will wait here until Joanna wakes up, then I can go upstairs later."

Since she didn’t directly refuse the offer of going to one of the bedrooms, Betty did not insist on it and went ahead to prepare the room, just as one of the maids brought Violet water.

"Here, ma’am, your water." She looked nervous, but Violet was too tired to notice due to all the drama at the event.

"Thank you," she acknowledged as she gulped down the water and removed her shoes; the maid instantly picked them up. "I will send them upstairs to your room."

As the maid left, Violet lay on the sofa and began to play a game on her phone after deeming it too late to call Bennet to find out the exact emergency he was dealing with.

It wasn’t long before she began to feel uncomfortable.

At first, she ignored it, but when it intensified, she asked one of the maids to help with her zipper, and that was when the maid suspected a problem due to how Violet was sweating.

Ma’am, are you alright?" Care laced her voice as she asked. Violet was feeling strange and wondered what could have caused it.

She never felt this way unless she was with her man, and perhaps experiencing climax, but this desire seemed intensified, as if multiplied by ten. She felt like she was going to die if she didn’t have a man quickly.

The maid, not receiving any response, called out for Betty, who was already descending the stairs to inform Violet that her room was ready.

"Violet, what’s wrong with you?" the elderly woman asked. Violet knew she cared, but as she opened her mouth, she couldn’t bring herself to say that she was feeling aroused.

"It’s nothing. Just help me with my zipper," she replied.

Betty sensed something was terribly wrong for Violet to want to undress here. The bodyguards could walk in at any time, and there were cameras all over. Did she have no shame? Unless there was something wrong with her head.

"There are cameras, so I suggest we go upstairs," Betty urged. However, Violet sat on the sofa, snuggling a pillow as if she were making love to it.

Betty suspected something was amiss and was about to help her up the stairs when Alex arrived with Aiden.

The mere sight of Violet revealed that she had been drugged, confirming the betrayal. As Alex pieced together the situation, he realized that the only family members who had visited were Grandpa and Agnes.

Knowing Grandpa would not be involved, Alex concluded that Agnes was responsible.

As he pondered the situation, he considered a suitable punishment for Agnes and hoped that Grandpa would support his decision to ban extended family members from visiting.

Despite the sacrifices made to protect them, Alex felt betrayed by their actions.

"Violet," Alex called out worriedly, prompting her to stand up and embrace him. "Alex, thank God you’re back," she said. "I need your help, she added. I need a doctor," she slurred.

Before her body could collide with Alex’s, Aiden stepped in. "I will handle this. Go take care of your wife," he said. Alex hesitated but was grateful for Aiden’s intervention.

If Aiden hadn’t intervened, Violet might have tried to seduce Alex while under the influence of drugs but then, she had requested for a doctor and not for him to quench her fire, which meant she still had some sense in her.

However, should Joanna have awoke to see even the slightest form of closeness between them, that would not have been good.

Alex had only knocked Joanna out, so it shouldn’t be for long before she wakes up. However, the fact that Violet and Aiden had been intimate before made Alex question whether Aiden might take advantage of the situation.

"It might be best to take her to the hospital," Alex suggested as he noticed Violet pressing herself against Aiden and heard her words escalating the situation.

"I hate you so much, but I want you now," she said, already unbuttoning Aiden’s shirt with shaky hands. The maids were stunned, suspicious of Violet’s behavior, as she had always been dignified during her previous visits.

Alex realized things were spiraling out of control and turned to Betty, asking, "What did you give her?"

He wanted to identify the intruder in his house and hoped it wasn’t Betty, as her dismissal could lead to replacing all the domestic workers.

Betty, the matriarch of the household, held significant influence. "Nothing. Brea served her water," Betty recalled the incident when the maid brought water for Violet as she headed upstairs.

Since Violet had declined food, water was the only thing on her mind.

Alex’s expression darkened, and just as he was about to summon Brea, Jack entered and reported, "Sir, one of the maids was caught attempting to escape. Should we address this?"
