New World with Four Husbands-Chapter 180: Beautiful siblings
Chapter 180: Beautiful siblings
Ring.
Ring.
Ring.
The bell hanging on the door to the shop rang, its merry chime announcing the arrival of someone.
The sound was soft and gentle, but it was enough to cut through the tension between Coco and the unnamed man, the light metallic clapper striking the hollow bronze chamber with a soft, clear sound.
"Coco?" A familiar saccharine voice called out, evidently surprised and pleased by the tone of the voice.
The bell rang again, a soft chime signifying that the person who entered had shut the door behind them, the sound was soft, a pleasant melodic chime that rang through the still air and made the two who were previously speaking with each other turn their attention to the door.
Coco’s expression softened as her gaze landed on the newcomer, the tension in her face melting away as she recognized the familiar face.
"Mrs. Tani." Coco acknowledged the presence of the person she was waiting for this whole time, "It’s a relief to finally see you walk through that door. I have been waiting for a while now for you."
The merchant who had just walked through blinked rapidly as she approached the pair, her footsteps echoing through the room.
"How long have you been waiting? Goodness me.. Do forgive me, Coco, I was called by the village chief to discuss something important." Mrs. Tani did not miss a beat to apologize for making Coco wait, a look of worry crossing her stunning features.
Coco smiled and shook her head. "Don’t apologize. I didn’t mind waiting since I figured that you had to run a quick errand."
The merchant’s shoulders dropped and a sigh escaped through her lips, looking extremely relieved to hear the word of assurance from Coco, the tension disappearing almost immediately.
She stepped forward, her expression eager and happy as she offered a grateful smile at Coco.
"I take it that you’re here for the money for yesterday’s batch?" Mrs. Tani asked before her eyes drifting to the basket on Coco’s back, "Oh, it seems that you have also bought another batch today."
"Mhmm." Coco agreed wordlessly and slowly took the straps off her shoulders, placing the basket down on the floor carefully and easily, "I didn’t want to leave these in the shop with no one to guard it so I decided to stay until you’re back."
Mrs. Tani hummed and leaned down to take off the basket’s cover. "You could have gone back into the back of the shop and waited there for me. I wouldn’t mind, you know? I trust you completely."
Coco laughed nervously and looked away. "It doesn’t sit well with me to go inside of someone’s room without their permission, friends or not— sorry, Mrs. Tani."
The merchant nodded her head in understanding and placed the cover back to its place after she was done inspecting the fruits. "It’s fine. I don’t mind. Just know that the next time you come in here and I’m not here, you can go inside the back and wait for me there, okay?"
Coco smiled and nodded her head. "Okay, I’ll keep that in mind just in case—"
"Are you two being serious right now?" A familiar voice of someone annoying had cut Coco off and made her smile twitch, making it falter a little more.
The merchant blinked and turned her attention away from Coco to look at the beautiful man who was standing beside them, looking irritated and fed up about something, his cheeks flushed with color— probably out of anger.
"What’s the matter now, Drishti?" Mrs. Tani narrowed her eyes towards the man.
So, Drishti was the name of this annoying man who wouldn’t stop invading my personal space and asking nonsense questions? Coco thought to herself, watching as the merchant look at him as if she was disappointed.
"You two are ignoring me." The man, Drishti, huffed out as he crossed his arms in front of him.
"No, we’re not." Mrs. Tani sighed out and shook her head, "Did we look like we were talking to each other like old friends? Isn’t it clear that we are doing business right now?"
Drishti’s face contorted into a frown. "Why? Just who is she?"
The merchant raised an eyebrow and stared down at the man, which Coco had just noticed that even though the man was a little taller than her, Mrs. Tani is taller than him.
Damn.. Talk about being short. Coco blinked owlishly and stared at the two beautiful beings.
She looked at Drishti and Mrs. Tani, her eyes flickering from how they stare at each other with displeased looks on their faces— and somehow, she could see similarities in their features.
"She’s the one whom you’ve been looking for." The merchant grumbled out and rubbed the bridge of her nose, "Didn’t I tell you? Coco is already happily married."
"What? But she’s not—"
A gasp escaped from Coco’s lips as she realized something important, her eyes widening in surprise and her dropping out of disbelief, staring at Drishti and Mrs. Tani.
The gasp she let out was loud enough for the two of them to snap their attention away from each other to look at Coco.
"Are you two related? Siblings, perhaps?" Coco asked, her eyes blown as wide as saucers while pointing a finger at Drishti and Mrs. Tani.
"Siblings." Drishti huffed out and beat the merchant on answering Coco’s question.
"No wonder!" Coco exclaimed, her eyes twinkling with delight and excitement as she beamed brightly at the beautiful siblings, making them flinch and wonder why she was happy to know that they are siblings.
"I was wondering why he looked familiar! Turns out, he’s Mrs. Tani’s brother!" Coco said, laughing under her breath as she shook her head.
"How did you find out, Coco?" Mrs. Tani smiled, feeling her irritation melt away upon seeing Coco’s smile.
"Yeah, we don’t even look alike." Drishti backed his sister up with a follow up question.
"Well, first of all, you two are beautiful."
