New World with Four Husbands-Chapter 141: Hang out quest success
Chapter 141: Hang out quest success
"Is that all the things we bought?" Coco asked, looking at the two baskets that Renaldo was carrying.
The unplanned hang out that Coco forced into the married couple while letting other two people join has now come to an end and to be honest, Coco was pleased with how much fun she had.
The wounds in her back were strangely tamed and didn’t hurt the whole time she was playing with her two friends who also wouldn’t stop trying to tackle her down the water.
She thought that it would sting and all, but she was glad that she could have fun with them.
"Yeah, that’s all." The ragged man answered, his eyes scanning his surroundings to double check if he really did get everything inside the baskets.
"Let’s go then." Coco hummed out, turning in her heels and started walking down the path towards the village.
The little boy— well, the teenager sleeping in her arms who looked like he was drained from all the laughing and running around, slumping down on the picnic basket after he shed all of his clothing and wore Coco’s extra clothes that were big on him.
Coco ended up wearing her trusty worn out silk that the Coco Hughes had while she gave the dark robe to the teenager and let him be comfortable without the wet clothes.
Weirdly enough, after her quick conversation with Kairo, he hasn’t spoken a word to her or her friends, opting to watch them silently by under the shade of one of the trees near the river bank.
It was like she flipped a switch that caused his harsh personality to take a drastic turn.
He didn’t protest when Rey shed his clothing and wore Coco’s clothes, put the wet clothes on the basket that was beside Renaldo and he even helped his young master change his clothing.
He also didn’t say anything when Coco picked the teenager off the blanket when it was time to go, whispering towards her friends that she doesn’t mind carrying him back to the village so they could rest assured and stop fussing about waking him up.
It was quite clear that Rey was exhausted and the three of them didn’t want to wake him up because of that.
With Coco wearing the trusty silk and having to lend her clothes to Rey, she had no choice, but to keep wearing her dripping wet pants back to the village.
"Are you sure you don’t want to change out of your pants? I don’t really mind lending this robe of mine to you, you know?" Renaldo asked for the third time, his eyes glued on the wet trails that Coco’s pants left behind.
"I’m sure." Coco rejected him once more with a smile, "Don’t worry, this wasn’t the first time that I walked to the village with wet clothes."
Due to her pants being dripping wet, Renaldo tried to offer his robe and suggested having his wife wrap it around Coco’s waist to make a makeshift skirt, but Coco wasn’t comfortable at the idea and refused the man’s good intentions politely to not hurt his feelings.
Of course, the married couple doesn’t mind.
"Not the first time?" Jacques voiced out her concern with an obvious sign of worry on her face, "Did you get sick after? Why would you go back with wet clothes? Were you in a situation where you had to go back with wet clothes?"
Coco blinked and hummed as she thought back at the instances where she had to deal with wet clothes, then she nodded her head.
"Remember the time when I first bought a flying tiger at your shop, Renaldo?" Coco asked as she glanced at him over her shoulders, "When I asked you to be my business partner and friend?"
"Yeah?" Renaldo answered with a confused blink of his own.
"I went back to the village a day before with wet clothes because I didn’t like how I smelled and used the oranges to make the smell go away." Coco informed him with a large grin, not feeling an ounce of embarrassment.
"Oh.." Renaldo said, his eyes widening in realization as if he pieced together an important puzzle, "So, that’s why you smelled like oranges! I thought Old Josh made a new scented soap."
"Nope." Coco laughed and shook her head, "I didn’t have enough money to buy myself a soap at the time so I had to improvise, which I did." freewёbnoνel.com
"Well, it worked alright." Renaldo smiled with a shrug of his shoulders, "It honestly made me believe that Old Josh got new soap or essential oil. I had to ask my wife to check on his products the next morning, you know?"
"Guess we solved that mystery now." Jacques stated as a lighthearted laugh escaped her lips, "He was hung up on the smell of oranges because it’s his favorite fruit."
"Wait, what?" Coco stopped walking and looked at Renaldo, making the three adults trailing behind her stop walking and look back at her, "Why didn’t you say so? I would have bought you oranges instead of other fruits!"
"You don’t have to, silly." Jacques tutted and started walking again, wrapping an arm on Coco’s middle and placing her hand on Coco’s waist as she urged the latter to start walking as well.
"But oranges is Renaldo’s favorite." Coco retorted back as if it was an important debate.
Jacques merely hummed and only squeezed Coco’s waist, leading her friend back to village as she listened to Coco whine about how she has to bring them oranges instead of other fruits because of the citrus fruit being her friend’s favorite.
When they reached the village, Coco didn’t even notice and was led back to Jacques house.
If it weren’t for the scroll popping in front of her, Coco would have continued arguing with Renaldo on which fruit she should bring back the next day.
