A few days passed after I talked with the headmaster and was accepted into the academy as the "magic theory" teacher.

The night before the first day of class, I visited Melina in her dorm, and she asked what I would be doing while she was attending her classes.

I hadn’t told her about my deal with the headmaster only because I wanted to see her reaction, so I said that I would be staying around the capital for a while.

Melina was happy to hear that, and after hanging out some more time, I left and went to the room that the headmaster gave me at the academy.

My room was located in the "professor’s tower," which, just as it sounded, was the area where all the teachers resided.

The headmaster told me that every professor was responsible for the state of their bedrooms, but when I entered mine, I realized what he truly meant.

Most professors in the world were nobles with a good education and upbringing, so when they were sent to an academy to teach, they would bring their servants and workers to fix up their rooms and care for them as they would in their mansions.

I had the title of "Professor" since I taught Reinar alchemy until he became a "Master Alchemist" and Melina magic until she received the "Master Hunter" title.

However, not all the teachers had my title. In fact, the headmaster told me that only three other professors at the academy had it.

Standing in front of my dusty room that looked like the inside of a wooden cabin, my companions and I started cleaning to the point where it was decent enough to get some rest and slumbered until the following morning.

On the first day of class, I woke up, changed into the suit that the headmaster gifted me, and made my way to the classroom.

However, I got lost for a few minutes while looking for the place and had to ask some of the students who were walking around for directions.

I could hear some of them whispering as I walked by.

"Who is that?"

"Is that a new student?"

"That’s a nice suit."

Honestly, I’ve never cared for rumors or anything, but I did appreciate that compliment about my suit. Nonetheless, I was running late for my first lesson, so I started hastily walking.

I was ten minutes late, and when I got to the door, Topen was standing there waiting for me with a disgruntled expression.

*phew* "My bad. I got lost for a second..." I said to the man who would be my assistant.

Topen didn’t say anything and gestured towards the door as if asking me to go in first.

Then, I remembered the headmaster saying that assistants didn’t have the authority to start a class without the main teacher, so Topen was doing his job by waiting for me outside.

When we both entered the classroom, the students promptly sat on their spots and ceased talking immediately.

The room was like a small lecture hall, with my desk at the front of the blackboard, Topen’s desk to my side, and the students’ seats tiered like a theater, with the back rows being higher up and the first row at ground level.

Topen kept walking towards his desk, and I stood behind the main one, making the students whisper to each other with perplexity.

"What is that guy doing?"

"Is he not going to sit?"

At that moment, I realized that everyone thought I was just another student, and the reason they all shut up and sat down when I entered the room was because they thought Topen was their professor.

I mean, I couldn’t blame them since I was their age, but it did make me a little nervous.

*ahem* "My name is Ichiro, and I will be your magic theory professor this semester." I said loud and clear for everyone to hear.

The students looked surprised at first and started talking to each other, now louder than before.

"Professor?"

"That guy looks our age!"

"What is the meaning of this!?"

As the students kept getting a bit rowdier, I noticed Topen was smiling behind his desk.

’If I’m going to be a young professor, I need to show off to these kids and make them understand my powers. Else they are never going to accept me as their teacher...’ I thought.

After the students were startled by my shout, they quickly sat back down and stopped talking, making me notice a girl with her hand raised.

"Umm, yes? The blue-haired girl in the back..." I said, pointing at the individual.

She had light blue hair and violet eyes, which were quite a rare sight, but I knew that those features weren’t common in the Sephyr Kingdom, so I concluded that she was a noble from somewhere else.

"Professor, D-did you say your name was Ichiro?" she asked.

"Yes. I’m not a noble, so I don’t have a last name..." I replied, thinking that she wanted to know my full name.

The girl looked surprised, thanked me for the answer, and sat back down, looking a little embarrassed.

’Uhh, okay?’ I thought that was a vague and easy question to answer.

At that moment, another kid raised his hand.

"Umm, is it really true? You look like you are our age..." the boy said.

"It is true, and I’m 17, so I’m pretty much you guys’ age..." I continued, making the people in the class start whispering to each other again.

Then, another girl with light green hair stood up in anger.

"Has the academy in Sephyr sunk so low that we need students to act as professors!?" she asked with a rude tone.

I gave a cold glare at the girl and raised my palm slightly before me, generating a gust of wind that caught the entire room, making all of their papers, books, and tools float around for a few seconds before putting them back down in their respective places.

The students were perplexed at my demonstration, which was one of the most basic stuff I could cast without destroying the entire classroom.

"Did he say something?" a student whispered.

"No, he cast that without saying anything..." another replied.

"If you understand now, let’s start the lesson." I confidently stated while nodding proudly.
