My Apocalypse Territory-Chapter 441 - 410: Puppet Mount
Chapter 441: Chapter 410: Puppet Mount
Puppets have become one of Green Shadow’s trademarks.
Whenever foreigners arrive at Green Shadow, what astonishes them the most are those Puppet creatures of steel, their figures round and plump or resembling small mechs... These Puppets have made many contributions to the development history of the territory.
Tang Yu entered the study, and with his spiritual power, created a large hand to retrieve a thick book from a shelf over a dozen meters high.
"Equipment Encyclopedia."
Author: Tang Yu.
This was yet another epic work to follow his "Demonized Beast Atlas," "Mutant Beast Atlas," "Hundred Herbs List," and "Mineral Overview."
Tang Yu also planned to compile a historical novel about the Fourth Epoch based on the materials from the Fourth Era that he had collected, titled "End of Dharma Era," recounting the process of the thinning of Heaven and Earth Source Qi and the diminishing presence of the Transcendent.
Of course, his understanding of the Fourth Epoch was still insufficient. Yan Dingtian, including Nanlin Country, also only had a partial understanding. Early in the Fourth Epoch, why the apocalypse emerged—Yan Dingtian knew very little.
The Secret Realms excavated so far, those in possession of the Mage Alliance, are said to be filled with the most books, from which Tang Yu learned many secrets about the Fourth Epoch... and he understood much more than old Yan.
However, concerning the end of the Third Epoch and the beginning of the Fourth Epoch, it seemed there’s a reluctance to delve into details.
It was only rumored that the Origin Star of the previous three eras was very splendid.
Shaking his head, Tang Yu opened the "Equipment Encyclopedia," which recorded almost everything the territory currently possessed, from D-tier single rune equipment to A-tier three runes equipment, including weapons, armor, items, Puppets, vehicles, and more.
Including the characteristics of the equipment, sharpness, Engraving Runes, and the production blueprints... it had everything.
Truly a supreme treasure.
There were indeed treasures worth displaying within Lord’s Castle!
Tang Yu quickly skimmed over the sections on weapons and armor, selected a few main products he planned to launch in Beiting City, then turned to the Puppet section.
Using Puppets to establish a reputation, then driving the sales of other goods... that was Tang Yu’s plan. He believed that once the shop’s reputation spread, across the entire Beiting Defense Circle, with the potential millions of Awakeners, as long as Green Shadow’s production capacity could keep up, Source Crystals would pour into his pockets.
Then, trading high-end weapons for rare materials would be no difficult feat.
...
Basic Warrior Puppets had combat power roughly equivalent to a First Layer Awakener.
Basic Warrior Puppets (enhanced version), with alloy materials replaced, had combat power roughly equivalent to a Second-tier Awakener, and their energy core could explode with a great force, capable of killing Fourth Layer Demonized Beasts at close range.
Fighter Puppets (basic version) had combat power roughly equivalent to Second and Third Layer Awakeners.
Fighter Puppets (mid-range version) had combat power roughly equivalent to Fifth to Sixth Layer Awakeners.
Fighter Puppets (high-end version) had combat power comparable to a Tenth Layer Awakener.
This pertains to their performance without any equipment. The biggest advantage of Fighter Puppets is their ability to be equipped with various weapons and to use them proficiently... A Gun Fighter Puppet, although not comparable to a Divine gunman, is at least equivalent to an experienced veteran with decent marksmanship.
These two types of Puppets were currently the mainstream in the territory.
Over the past few months, Tang Yu had seen various other Puppet blueprints in the market: Gunman Puppets, Bowman Puppets, Gunman Puppets... these were ordinary.
There were also some more advanced ones, such as...
Guardian Puppets: Over two meters tall, humanoid in shape, adept at defense, a type of close-combat bodyguard Puppet.
Destroyer Puppets: Loaded with weapons such as Molten Rock Cannons and the like for long-range bombardment, they are excellent at demolition.
Giant Divine Soldier: An ultra-large Puppet... Its combat power is difficult to assess, but in terms of destructive power, it is significantly higher than that of an Awakener at Awakening Tier Perfection.
...
These puppet blueprints vary in value, some practical and some useless, but Tang Yu bought them all.
Even the most expensive Giant Divine Soldier blueprint was only a mere three hundred thousand Source Crystals. The cheaper ones were only a few thousand. He bought them, considering them as additions to his collection, and as a pathway to research.
"However, the Puppets released into the Beiting market definitely can’t reveal all our secrets."
The cost of producing a Giant Divine Soldier Puppet is exorbitant, and so far only three have been made. Very few people within the Territory are even aware of the existence of the Giant Divine Soldiers.
The Destroyer Puppet is one notch below the Giant Divine Soldier but is still too overwhelmingly destructive for the adventurer guild to allow for exchange.
Guardian Puppets, four-star adventurers can exchange.
Fighter Puppets (Mid-range version) are exchangeable by three-star adventurers. As for the low-end version, the exchange restriction is two-star adventurers.
Basic Warrior Puppets have been removed from the adventurer guild’s exchange list and are instead sold in the Green Shadow supermarket, including some low-level Puppets and many E-grade weapons, with no purchase restrictions.
"However, although there are many types of Puppets, not many are actually favored by the market."
Both the regular and enhanced versions of the Basic Warrior Puppet, (exchanged at the "adventurer guild") are best-sellers, and the low-end version of Fighter Puppets is also one of the most commonly exchanged items by three-star adventurers.
But the mid-range version has few takers.
Other high-level Puppets also sell far less than C-grade and B-grade weapons.
"Cost is one issue, mid-to-high-level Puppets require rarer materials, leading to higher exchange prices. Puppets, being inanimate, will quickly become obsolete as an Awakener’s strength improves."
Weapons are different, as even a B-grade weapon is more than sufficient for someone at the peak of the Awakening Tier.
Mid-to-high-level Puppets seem to have a low cost-performance ratio.
On the other hand, low-level Puppets are cheap and provide significant help to newbies just stepping into the path of Awakening. Even if they break down, it’s not too upsetting.
"Beiting has a large population base, and there is no shortage of new Awakening Tier beginners. Many of them don’t immediately venture out to fight Demonized Beasts but instead work to earn money and acquire equipment. Only once they are well-prepared do these individuals venture out of the Defense Circle to hunt Demonized Beasts and level up."
"Therefore, the survival rate of newbie Awakeners in Beiting is relatively high, and they have some spare cash. Sales of Basic Warrior Puppets should be good."
Tang Yu listed several best-selling Puppets.
He had even thought about forming a Puppet Army, but due to the high costs, he currently only has thousands of Fighter Puppets to support the Guardian Corps in maintaining the stability of the Territory.
Giant Divine Soldier Puppets, while powerful in combat, cost much more to produce than training an Awakener to Great Perfection.
Puppet armies can be a special measure, but Tang Yu does not want to indulge in such Consuming Crystals during regular combat... even as a magnate earning several hundred thousand a day, the cost pains him.
"Unless... we could create Puppets similar to one and two, capable of independent Cultivation and growth."
Shaking his head.
Tang Yu flipped through the Equipment Encyclopedia page by page and suddenly spotted a type of Puppet in the corner that he had overlooked.
[Demon Wolf Puppet]
This is a rare Beast-shaped Puppet, with combat power comparable to the Third Layer of Awakening, but due to production costs being much higher than the low-end Fighter Puppets, Tang Yu had always overlooked it.
Looking again at the Puppet’s appearance on the page, a bold idea suddenly popped into his mind.
Why not use Puppets as mounts?
