Marvel : I'm in Westview Town-Chapter 109 : Dark Reflections
Chapter 109 - 109 : Dark Reflections
"What are you doing here?"
Finn turned abruptly, his gaze locking onto Dark Wanda, who stood before him with an amused smirk. Instinctively, he positioned himself in front of Wanda, shielding her slightly while his expression remained tense and wary.
"You two are up to something. Why didn't you invite me?"
Dark Wanda ignored his question, her voice dripping with playful mischief. A knowing smile curled her lips, her presence exuding an undeniable allure. Her deep-set eyes shimmered with amusement as she languidly licked her lips, the crimson color standing out vividly against her pale skin.
"You misheard. We weren't saying anything."
Wanda scoffed, clearly irritated, and turned away, making her way into the bathroom. Whatever atmosphere had been building between them moments ago shattered instantly.
Dark Wanda rolled her eyes and sighed dramatically. "Secrets are better when shared." She spread her hands, but the smug grin on her face faded slightly, clearly disappointed by their lack of response.
Finn shot her a tired look. "Go watch your movie or something. Don't just stand here getting in the way."
With a nudge, he pushed her aside and continued forward. A fleeting annoyance crossed his face. The moment had slipped through his fingers, and he blamed her for it.
"What? Are you mad?" Dark Wanda teased, clearly enjoying herself far too much.
She tilted her head and added in a sultry tone, "If she won't let you wash up with her, I'll do the honors later."
Finn groaned, exasperated. "Stop talking. Just sit down and watch your damn movie. If she hears you, she'll—"
Before he could finish, a blood-curdling scream ripped through the air.
"Wanda!"
Finn's eyes widened in alarm, and without hesitation, he bolted toward the bathroom. He kicked the door open with force, his heart hammering against his ribs. Inside, the air was eerily still—no steam, no running water. Just Wanda, trembling against the tiled wall, her hands clutching her arms tightly.
"What happened?"
Finn rushed to her, pulling her into his arms. He pressed a soft kiss to her forehead in reassurance, whispering, "It's okay, I'm here."
Wanda swallowed hard, pointing toward the mirror, her voice barely above a whisper. "When I took off my clothes... I saw something in the mirror."
Finn followed her gaze, eyes narrowing at the reflection. At first glance, it was just an ordinary mirror. Nothing unusual.
"Are you sure?" He asked, scanning it carefully.
Before she could respond, the surface of the mirror began to ripple, distorting their reflections. An unnatural blur took form, twisting into something eerie and unfamiliar.
Dark Wanda, who had entered behind them, stiffened. "Finn, that mirror isn't right."
Finn's jaw tightened as he met the reflection's gaze. A cold shiver ran down his spine. "Something's playing tricks on us."
He stepped forward, his fingers curling into a fist as he prepared to unleash his power.
Before he could act, the bathroom door slammed shut with a deafening bang.
The overhead light flickered erratically, casting erratic shadows that danced along the walls. The once steady sound of water dripping from the faucet ceased abruptly, plunging the room into an unsettling silence. The air grew dense, the temperature plummeting.

Wanda clutched Finn's arm. "Finn... who's doing this?"
Dark Wanda remained eerily still, arms crossed as she assessed the situation. "I don't know... but the energy in here isn't normal."
Finn's gaze flickered around the room, scanning every inch. "This aura... it's unfamiliar. It doesn't belong here."
Wanda suddenly turned toward Dark Wanda, suspicion flashing in her eyes. "Is this one of your games? Did you do this just to mess with us?"
Dark Wanda scoffed. "If I wanted to get in the shower with Finn, I wouldn't need to pull something this elaborate."
Wanda's glare sharpened. "That's not the point!"
Dark Wanda rolled her eyes. "Enough. This isn't me." Her expression turned serious as she studied the mirror. "We should focus on the real problem."
Finn tugged at the bathroom door, but it refused to budge. He pulled harder, his frustration mounting.
Dark Wanda stepped beside him. "Anything?"
"Almost." Finn exhaled sharply, summoning his energy. A dark glow enveloped his hands as power runes formed around them. With a sharp yank—
Bang!
The door flew open.
But what lay beyond wasn't their apartment's living room.
Instead, an endless abyss stretched before them, a suffocating darkness that swallowed all light. The world beyond the threshold no longer existed—it had been replaced with a void that pulsed with an unnatural presence.
"What the hell...?"
Wanda's eyes widened, stepping closer to Finn. "Where are we?"
Finn's expression darkened. "We're in trouble."
He lifted his hand, gathering a surge of power before releasing it outward. A black mist shot forward, colliding with the abyss. In an instant, the oppressive darkness shattered like glass, revealing their familiar living room once more.
Wanda let out a breath she hadn't realized she was holding. "Was that... an illusion?"
Dark Wanda narrowed her eyes. "No... it felt like a nightmare's presence."
Finn's expression remained cold as he pieced things together. "If that's the case, then someone connected to Nightmare is behind this."
Dark Wanda's face darkened at the mention of the name. "That would explain the unnatural energy. But why here?"
Wanda crossed her arms, deep in thought. "If this was just an illusion, then the apostles themselves weren't here physically."
Dark Wanda smirked. "So, you admit you were scared for nothing?"
Wanda shot her a sharp glare. "I'm Scarlet Witch. But I'm still a woman. Anyone would freak out if they saw something staring at them in the mirror while undressing!"
Finn ignored their bickering, focusing instead on the lingering remnants of the strange aura. He extended his hand, capturing the essence left behind by the illusion. With a flick of his wrist, the energy condensed into a golden light that darted outward, streaking toward the western horizon.
Wanda's eyes followed its path. "The energy is heading west... toward the old church we visited before."
Dark Wanda tapped her chin. "Coincidence?"
Finn exhaled sharply. "Doubt it. This was deliberate. Whatever Nightmare's apostles are planning, they've made their first move."
A tense silence settled over them.
Then Dark Wanda smirked, crossing her arms. "Well then, I guess we've got some hunting to do."
Finn looked away, curiosity and anticipation written all over his face.
"It's not too late. Let's go there quickly. Since they're casting spells in Westview, they shouldn't be far away."
Blackened Wanda urged hastily.
Both of them nodded.
Soon.
The three of them cleaned up briefly and hurriedly followed the direction where the golden light was flying.
At the same time.
On the outskirts of Westview, dark and damp forests stretched endlessly, shrouded in an eerie chill. The temperature had dropped sharply, and the air was thick with foreboding.
Inside a dilapidated, abandoned church, several figures in deep purple robes gathered. The symbols beneath their feet pulsed with a dazzling brilliance, their intricate patterns radiating an unsettling aura.
These were the fanatical apostles of Nightmare—masters of black magic devoted to their sinister cause. Their purple robes concealed their faces, leaving only an air of mystery and malice.
"Our preparations are complete. The illusion-based formation will trap them for a full day and night. By then, our preordained plan can proceed without interference."
A quiet yet commanding voice broke the silence. It belonged to Larry, the most formidable among them.
"It's a shame Scarlet Witch sabotaged our last sacrifice, ruining everything. We won't let that happen again."
Charles, another robed figure, clenched his teeth. Last time, their plan had been one step from completion—until Wanda arrived and destroyed everything.
Because of this, their hatred for the Scarlet Witch had turned murderous.
"Carat's failure last time already angered Lord Nightmare. If we fail again, we'll be unworthy to stand before him."
Larry's tone was grave. Carat had not only failed but had left a mess in his wake, forcing them to pick up the pieces.
"Then how do we capture Scarlet Witch's power this time?"
The voice belonged to Reiss, a burly and imposing figure. His strength was undeniable.
"Simple. We take hostages. Ordinary people in the town can be used as leverage to break her."
Larry's expression turned cold, his mind formulating the best course of action. This was the most effective way—Wanda had always been weak when it came to protecting others.
"Then let's not waste time. Begin the formation."
Larry's command was met with immediate action.
The other three nodded in agreement, moving into their positions at the cardinal points—north, south, east, and west. They raised their hands, summoning streams of black magic.
Abyssal darkness spread outward, engulfing the entire church in a suffocating veil. The very space trembled, rippling like ink swirling through water.
A violent force surged through the air, lifting debris and whipping it through the ruined structure like a raging storm.
The temperature plummeted further, the icy chill biting at anything mortal. But to these mages, such conditions were meaningless.
"No holding back. This plan must succeed. If it fails, we'll face Nightmare's wrath, and none of us can afford that."
Larry's sharp eyes flicked toward them. He could already sense their magic weakening.
If the formation collapsed, restarting it would be near impossible.
"We know!"
The other three gritted their teeth and pushed forward. The black magic surged, reinforcing the spell.
The ground shook violently as the glowing symbols intensified, growing clearer and more intricate. The formation was nearly complete.
The knowledge sent a thrill through them. It had been difficult, but once finished, the magic would trap Wanda and the others inside, leaving them defenseless as their power was siphoned away.
The thought alone made their eyes gleam with manic hunger.
If they succeeded in taking the Scarlet Witch's magic, they could offer it to Nightmare, gaining unimaginable favor.
Time stretched as the formation solidified, its interwoven patterns pulsing beneath them. The light radiating from the spellwork grew blinding, illuminating the decayed church like an unholy sanctuary.
The dark energy spread outward, stretching toward the town, solidifying into an invisible barrier.
"Larry, we've completed the first stage!"
Charles' voice brimmed with excitement. Their progress had been faster than expected.
"I know. But stay focused. One mistake, and we'll have to start over."
Larry's voice carried an edge of warning.
"Relax, Larry. We accounted for everything. There won't be any mistakes."
Reiss smirked, feeding even more power into the spell. The runes branched outward, forming a complex web of confinement.
Swish! Swish! Swish!
The combined force of their black magic made the formation glow with an ominous black and gold radiance. The twisted energy spread further, filling the ruined cathedral with an oppressive weight.
"Almost there."
Charles' eyes shone with a feverish light as he poured even more power into the spell.
"Now our plan is secure!"
Reiss let out a dark chuckle, his expression full of malice.
Even if the Scarlet Witch arrived now, she wouldn't be able to stop them in time.
Puchi!
A surge of power erupted, consuming everything in the vicinity. The black energy rippled outward, filling the church with eerie shadows.
The formation's energy pulsed violently, expanding beyond the church and reinforcing its barriers.
Then, suddenly—
The candles burning deep within the cathedral snuffed out in an instant. The strange energies that had been spreading were abruptly halted, as if intercepted by an unseen force.
"Huh?"
Larry stiffened. His senses detected a shift—something was wrong. A gnawing dread crept into his gut.
Had they escaped the illusion already?
"Larry, what are you doing?!"
Charles' voice cut through his thoughts, sharp with urgency.
"Stop hesitating! We need to reinforce the magic or the formation will fail!"
Reiss barked out in frustration.
Snapping out of it, Larry realized the spell's glow had dimmed, and the formation itself was weakening.
"Damn it!"
Larry clenched his teeth and channeled a surge of dark magic, pouring it into the formation.
Swish!
The magic stabilized.
Larry exhaled slowly, relieved. Disaster had been narrowly avoided.
"Larry, what the hell was that?!"
Reiss glared at him, frustration evident.
If they hadn't called out, the entire plan could've unraveled.
"I sensed something—an anomaly outside."
Larry's voice was steady, but his eyes remained locked on the entrance.
"What kind of anomaly?"
Reiss frowned.
Larry was never one to lose focus. If he had hesitated, it meant something serious was happening.
"I think... they broke through the illusion and found us."
Larry's words sent a chill through the room.
Charles' expression twisted in disbelief. "Impossible."
"I'm telling you, it's them."
Larry's voice was grim.
CRASH!
The sound of shattering glass split the air.
A gust of cold, unnatural wind swept through the church, carrying an ominous black mist with it.
A voice, sharp and cutting, echoed from the darkness.
"Looking for us?"
The apostles turned sharply.
Their eyes, hidden beneath their hoods, widened in shock.
Scarlet Witch and her allies had arrived.
