Isekai Journey Of The Magic Archer-Chapter 1218: Elements and Aura
[Eon's POV: ]
"Haaa…" It was surely an exhausting day for all of us.
There were a lot of things that happened today as well. Among those things, the fight that we had with the vice headmaster, as well as the fights that the others had were surely a memorable event for most of us.
"At least, we won." Things certainly looked grim at one point but things turned out to be favorable for us somehow.
With the unexpected victories and the unexpected losses of our fellow students, I now also understand just what kind of people the teachers of the great academy are.
"Thinking back, there was a time I thought I'd lose as well." Rein mentioned as she lay in my lap, her eyes looking up at the night sky, the clear sky reminding us of the peace that we seemed to have lost these past few months.
"I thought I'd lose as well. I mean, did you see the way she used her arrows?" The after party was still going on in the arena but we had quietly escaped the premise.
After barely winning the event, all the teachers were jumping on us, especially me, asking how I was able to come up with that strategy and what more I was hiding.
The fact that we were now student council presidents also ment we used to be the members of the student council. And if we were the members of the students council, then there was much more to us that we had not shown to them.
'The spells made with Aura were one thing, but the way they were made and the way I used them all pointed towards longer practice than a year that I had spent here.'
That meant I could use Aura even before becoming an adult and joining the academy.
Similarly, while it meant sound simple, using spells with /aura while possessing six elemental affinities was no simple thing. Not many magic users of the six elements could pull this off… there weren't many that could use Aura and the six elements in the first place.
If one had to name any, then the names like Sword Saint and the Headmaster would come to mind. And even they did not completely possess an elemental affinity or energy prowess like I did.
'It wasn't that special a thing since there have been people in the past who had been capable of such a thing.'
But not in the current era, making me a target for discussion among the teachers.
"Yeah… her arrows moved as if they had a will of their own. Oh, I think it was because they were made with her Aura. She could control it since it was her own energy, but even though I saw it with my eyes, I didn't see the arrows being connected to her in any way."
Rein lost because of the sheer prowess of the vice headmaster. The way she used her weapons, the way she used her footwork, the way she used her Aura as well as the way she used her weapon all contributed in that match.
'If Rein hadn't pushed her so far, I don't think the headmaster would have been disqualified at all.'
The fact that she did get out of the competition because she went too far with the student also showed how the student had managed to push someone so great so much.
It was a honor from the perspective of a warrior, and the teachers applauded her for her mastery of both weapon and magic.
'Also, since she revealed her Darkness affinity, something that wasn't common in the world, it made sense to them how she was the captain of the Dark Society among all the other houses.'
Then again, stereotyping the members of the house wasn't a good thing so no one said anything out loud.
Not that it was any big deal within the academy. Some houses have already become notorious for their unique Ways.
"After the stage of the King, even with the worldly authorities granted to you, the way you use your powers and experiences, the way you utilize your resources and the way you use your weapon varies, huh?"
"I think so. Also the Aura."
"Right, Aura is also something unique. The nature of the headmaster's gaseous Aura was strangely more on the non-fluid side.
She could surely materialize it into the arrows and different objects like the Rooks and Bishops, but there was something special about her Aura."
She wasn't just a Queen ranked Knight, she was more than that. Even though she did not have any specific magical prowess, she could use her Aura like it was magic.
In fact, I think I know how she moved her Arrows.
"The will."
When someone is so strong that they could even interfere with the natural laws and phenomena, they naturally come to possess a will so strong it could influence the very world around them.
"She has a will so strong that the weapons that she holds, even without directly having contact with them, would move as she wishes."
I knew about this. My master showed me what the different level of the knights and the Aura users could do with the powers that they earn through rigorous training.
She showed me a lot that the knights could be capable of, including how the Kings could change the terrain as well as the fields around them to their advantage.
'To use world authorities was the same as having influence over the world around them.'
When used, on the wider scale, they could change the way the Oceans' waves moved. They could bring about storms, they could change the ground from a simple fertile land to a barren wasteland temporarily.
Ultimately, it all depended on the nature and character of the Knight.
"For the vice headmaster, the world authority that she possessed must also be related to the weapons.'
We don't talk about her past much, but she didn't become the Weapon master out of whim. She wasn't always a master of all weapons– she was simply a girl that used to love swords, spears, arrows and all kinds of knives.
She started with one sword. Even though she was a pure blooded elf, daughter of a High Elf and one of the only high elders in the world, she chose not the spirit arts or spirit Mana and devoted her body and mind to the weapons.
She strangely loved weapons even though she possessed a unique affinity with all kinds of spirits due to her natural disposition.
She possessed elemental affinity for not just the four major elements, but with all kinds of other elements as well. Her affinity for weapons, however, was higher than everything else.
'She knew what she wanted to become since a very young age.'
Her mother simply supported her despite the opposition from the other people from their village.
'The story of how the rebellious young elf left their village, wandered the word, learned from all kinds of masters around the world, and chose to fight in the wars of the humans despite not having any connection to them was all common.'
Thinking back though, the life that she had lived, the life that I've read about, isn't all there is about her.
Now that I have fought against her, I pretty much understand the kind of depth she possesses.
Just like the headmaster that carries a unique mysteriousness about him, even the vice headmaster who isn't as old as him has a lot about her that we don't know about.
"I guess we should ask her when we go on that trip she was talking about."
We don't really know where she would be taking us. I also don't know how many teachers will be coming with us and what we would do either.
But she came up with this trip right after inviting us to her homeland, meaning there must be something mischievous going on in her mind.
'I'm afraid this might just be another test from her.'
If that is the case, I don't know what new things she will put us though.
What I do know though, is the fact that we are going to have fun if all of us do go out together.
With all the students together, while it will be difficult to plan all of the things and the entire trip with the vice headmaster, I'm sure the fun that we will have would be greater than when we travelled with a small group.
"Aren't you excited, darling?" Rein moved her hand across my face as she asked the question.
"Aren't you excited about learning more from the vice headmaster?"
That one battle was enough to know there was a lot that we could still learn from her. Rein seemed especially excited about this since starting this year, there would be a lot that we would learn from both the headmaster and vice headmaster aside from the mentors that we will get this time.
"Of course I am." I was looking forward to it, surely I was.
But all that was not something I wanted to think about right now…
"The weather's good, no?" I changed the topic, hinting at how I wanted to do something other than talking about all these things.
"Hehe, it sure is~." She obviously understood what I was thinking and giggled in her sweet voice.
"Shall we take a nap then?"
On top of a tree somewhere in the garden, we looked into each other's eyes, a smile still present on both of us.
The battles that we had were quite fun, the entire event was… but now that it had ended, it was time to rest.
"Mmm…"
It was time to rest and forget about the certain new ordeals that would come our way. At least, for the time being…
