In Konoha, This Naruto Has Decided To Take It Easy-Chapter 486 Whether You Agree or Not, I Still Like You
Chapter 486 - 486 Whether You Agree or Not, I Still Like You
'Since nothing else could be done today, I might as well see her again. Even just a glance would suffice. Summer would soon turn into fall, and who knew where I might end up after the new year.'
'Since no one knew how much time was left, there was no need to hold back.' With this thought, Naruto grabbed his jacket and headed downstairs, walking towards Yamanaka Flower Shop alone.
As for Ino, after coming home with flushed ears, she rushed straight up to her room from the first floor, leaving Rino in the store puzzled and unable to understand her odd behavior.
Back in her room, Ino stared at the documents and various communication devices she had set aside a few days ago, blinking.
'Now that there was hope, I could continue working on it.' So she sat down at her desk.
Her red lips and white teeth gleamed as her blonde hair cascaded down. She tied it all up, making everything feel much cleaner, without anything to distract her thoughts. She opened the documents.
After reading one line, she suddenly felt thirsty again.
Getting up, she shuffled to the living room in her pink slippers, poured herself a glass of water, and gulped it down. She licked her lips and looked down to see her stomach slightly bulging.
'Maybe I wasn't actually that thirsty... just one glass of water had filled her up.'
She walked back to her room, sat down again, and decided this time to focus on her work. But after reading one more line, she felt hungry.
Standing up, she paced around the room, feeling that something wasn't right. Then she remembered that she had just had some water, so she probably couldn't eat anything.
With a thud, she flopped onto her bed, staring up at the ceiling. Ino bit her lip and involuntarily recalled the feeling of the kiss, along with Naruto's gaze...
Her mind began to wander. She rolled over, buried her head in the blankets, and shook it vigorously, trying to shake off those distracting thoughts.
'The communication device project had gone through a dark period, and now, finally, there was a glimmer of hope. What I should be doing now was sitting at my desk and focusing on my work, not thinking about all these unrelated things.'
"It's all that guy's fault for not behaving!" Ino muttered.
She got up and patted her cheeks, her face still flushed. For a moment, her heart was racing. She let out a long sigh and thought to herself, 'It's over.'
After struggling at her desk for a while, Ino finally stood up straight, gritted her teeth, and decided she had to go find that bastard and have a talk.
"Hey, where are you going?" Rino called from the counter, looking up at Ino, "You just got home and changed, and now you're heading out again. Where are you going?"
"Nowhere in particular, just feeling a bit restless. I'm going for a walk." Ino replied.
Upon hearing this, Rino couldn't help but sigh, assuming that Ino was still sulking over what had happened a few days ago. So she opened her mouth to offer some comfort.
"There's nothing we can do about the communication system. Your father has mentioned it too. The village doesn't have the funds, so you don't need to be too upset. Maybe it'll work out in the future."
"Taking a walk outside is a good idea. Come back when you're feeling better, and we can talk."
"Mm." Ino agreed, not arguing back and not mentioning that the communication device project was actually back on track.
Since there wasn't even a solid plan yet, she wasn't the type to speak rashly about it. She was a person with principles. Thinking about it, she found it kind of interesting.
It was like having a secret, something that created a gap in information between herself and those close to her. It felt both a little unsettling and strangely exciting.
Since the two of them walked out, they awkwardly ran into each other halfway.
Ino had changed into a new outfit, with her waist exposed, and her eyes reflected the summer greenery. In Naruto's eyes, he could see his own reflection in her gaze, looking a little silly.
"Where are you going?" He asked.
Ino brushed her hair back, 'There's no way I would say I was coming to see him. I had to make up an excuse.'
"The Hokage Tower, I've got something to take care of there."
"Oh, I see." Naruto nodded, 'If she had important business, then there wasn't much room to fool around.'
So, Naruto decided to keep things simple.
"Shall I walk you there?"
Hearing this, Ino panicked a little, 'How could I have any serious business? What should I do in the Hokage Tower? If I went, I'd get caught immediately.'
"Mm." But for some reason, she didn't refuse.
The two walked in silence, each carrying their own thoughts and regrets. Neither said much as they strolled slowly along. Ino occasionally glanced at Naruto, but quickly turned her head away whenever he noticed.
Naruto was completely confused by this, 'What's going on?'
"Where are you really headed? You didn't just come out wandering aimlessly, did you?" Ino suddenly remembered something, "That road doesn't lead to many places. Could it be you were going..."
"I missed you, so I couldn't help but come find you." Naruto interrupted her.
"Oh." Ino's heart skipped a beat, but her face remained indifferent. ƒree𝑤ebnσvel.com
"You're so boring."
"Boring?" Naruto chuckled, stretched out his hand to grab her hand, preventing her from walking away. He seemed a little upset, "How am I boring? Just because I miss you, that's boring?"
Ino's heart trembled slightly, though she still held on to a bit of her tsundereness. The sun was beating down, making her feel like her whole body was heating up. She looked up at him without saying a word, just staring.
Her eyes were like those of a stubborn little deer, gazing at him with a mix of shyness and defiance. It was as if she was silently telling him, 'Naruto Uzumaki, are you crazy? Let go, or I'll really get mad.'
Under normal circumstances, Naruto would definitely backed off at this point and let go in time.
But not today. There was a fire smoldering inside him. She had sparked it, and once lit, it wasn't easy to extinguish. Besides, they hadn't seen each other for a while.
Although only half a month had passed in reality, in another space-time, several months had actually passed. Now that the suppressed longing had resurfaced, it wasn't so easily pushed back down.
"Let go!" Ino demanded.
"No. How am I boring?" Naruto insisted.
"I'm not telling you. Figure it out yourself!" Ino turned her head away, but her face now flushed all the way to her ears.
Naruto watched her reaction and a thought suddenly occurred to him, 'She doesn't seem to have any real business at the Hokage Tower. Maybe she's just bluffing again.'
Once this idea took root, it spread like wildfire. Naruto pulled her closer and quickly led her to the shade of a tree beside the street.
"What are you doing?" Ino protested, but her voice is growing softer, almost as if she was more worried about being seen.
It was broad daylight, and there were still people passing by on the street.
Naruto didn't care. He leaned down and kissed her. At first, Ino resisted a bit, but eventually, she found herself breathless, her face even redder than before, and her strength is fading from her hands.
"Wanna come over to my place?" He whispered in a deep breath, leaning close to Ino's ear, "Hmm? You've already rejected me once, and you can't reject me a second time, so why not just agree?"
"Ugh, I—I won't agree to that." Ino looked up at him, smiling faintly, her gaze already hazy, as if she were a little drunk.
"Whether you agree or not, I still like you." Naruto said, glancing at her, "Either way, this time..."
Ino's heart tightened, her mind a mess. The words of refusal circled in her head, but after a long pause, all she could squeeze out is the word, "yes."
