I transmigrated and got a husband and a son!-Chapter 1180: Date is set
Chapter 1180: Date is set
[All Charlotte’s life, she was kept hidden in the mansion because her mother thinks the world outside is too... dangerous.]
[She... that girl is the kindest and the most compassionate person I’ve met my entire life. She might be naive, but she has nothing to do with this.]
[She’s not your competition as well. If you claim the Oxley Family, she won’t fight with you for it.]
Hera’s steps heading to where everyone was hastened.
She wasn’t surprised at how Ulysses reacted when she mentioned Charlotte Oxley’s name. He wasn’t the only one who pleaded for this girl. Lukas Silvers mentioned it to Dominic as well.
However, it would be a lie to say their pleading moved her. If anything, everything that she heard from Ulysses about Charlotte Oxley brought this thick layer of frost into her eyes.
Soon, Hera pushed the two doors open, leading to the large meeting room in the mansion.
Everyone was already inside, some in their seats, others in any spot in the meeting room they felt most comfortable. Tiger stood at the end of the long oval table with his hands on the surface. Looking in her direction, he pushed himself away from the table and moved to the side.
"I’ve told them about our discovery and everything you told me earlier," said Tiger as he gave her the floor. "They look like idiots, but they got it."
Hera nodded at him. "Good work."
Facing everyone, she scanned their faces one by one. It wasn’t a lie when Tiger said they all look like idiots. Except for Ram, they all seemed in a daze.
"Tiger told you everything I want you to know," she started, bending over until her palms were on the surface of the table. "And the reason for that is for you to make a decision."
Silence hung in the air as everyone’s observant eyes didn’t show the slightest hint they would look away. Her lips parted, but instead of saying anything, she pressed a button on her earpiece to mute herself in case her husband woke up.
"These people are after me just because I fucking damn exist. Everything’s personal — business’s not included. Whether or not you still want in or want to take a step back, now’s your chance."
She paused again, waiting for anyone to take her offer. When no one seemed to care to make a decision, she added;
"There’s a high chance that once this is all over, half of us here will not come back. Worse. None of us will. And I won’t make any promises. All I can say is... if I came out of here alive, I’d hang their heads in every corner of this mansion to show the world no one messes with Hera Cruel or her people and get away with it."
"Hera, did you gather us here to tell us all this bullshit?" Primo yawned. "Well, thank you very much for this chance and warning. But you should know how hypocritical you sound. Thanks to you, we fight for our lives every day because you make every single soul here have high blood pressure."
"I don’t like him, but he is speaking facts." Joker nodded in agreement. "It is why I learned to pick up a habit of checking my health app in case."
"I don’t really care," Fig chimed in. "You said this is personal and had nothing to do with us. But when they attacked you and the base, I took it personally."
"Say no more." Wolf chuckled, leaning back comfortably in his seat. "Ram and I are old enough. At this point, it’s a race who gets to the finish line first."
Ram chuckled as Wolf cast him a playful look. "Not including Bear in it?"
"Ah, damn. Hell no. He’s Bear." Wolf scrunched up his nose. "He’ll simply hibernate." freёnovelkiss.com
"Uhm, ahem!" Moose cleared his throat to get everyone’s attention. "Can I not go?"
Hera smiled and said, "No."
"What? You said you are giving us a choice to decide!"
"Moose, do you really think she said all that because she means it?" Tiger cocked his head to the side. "She said that because she wants us to know our mortality rate."
Moose didn’t react before a cunning smirk appeared on his face, leaning back comfortably. "Hehe." He chuckled, casting Primo a look. The latter, on the other hand, raised his brows while nodding in satisfaction.
"You cunning son of a bitch." Hera clicked her tongue.
"Hey, don’t be mad, Hera. I just made a promise to this guy that I can make you admit you’re a tyrant." Moose raised his hand in surrender. "Also, we might die tomorrow or whenever you plan to start all of this. It’s time you should embrace that you’re a tyrant."
"Tyrant," Primo remarked while Moose nodded, saying, "Tyrant."
"Again, I hate them, but I agree." Joker nodded as well. "Tyrant. Femme fatale."
"You are a cute tyrant, though," Wolf added as if that would make her feel better. "A pretty one."
Ram chuckled as he watched Hera’s face twist in disbelief while everyone was having the time of their lives calling out her hypocrisy.
"I won’t call her a tyrant, but she’s a vile woman," Fig joined. "Just like everyone in this room."
"What did I do to you?" Moose frowned as he cast Fig a glare. "As far as I remember, I’m the one who prepared your diet routine."
Their continuous banter gradually killed the high and thick tension in the air. Although they were mostly dissing Hera and then each other, a brief smile appeared on her face. This, somehow, soothed her heart. Looking at them, she couldn’t help but say;
"Thank you," she whispered, her eyes softened. "I might not have the chance to say this in the future, but thank you. All of you... for never making me feel alone and for being a part of my family. Thanks to all of you, being an orphan felt less hurtful."
Those dissing her couldn’t help but pause and set their attention back to her. It was rare to see her sentimental and whenever she was emotional, she would hide it by showing her anger. Others smiled in appreciation, knowing she might be a lot of things, but she meant all those words.
It was simple and short words of gratitude, but they’ve always known her heart would always be genuine and pure.
"Damn..." Primo breathed out. "I am not included in that thanks, am I?"
"No, you’re not. Stop dreaming," Tiger answered before he refocused his attention on Hera. "Since we’re done with the sentiments, when are we going to move?"
"Tomorrow."
