Chapter 129: Leaving the Safe Zone

Jiang Hao didn’t care whether Jing Tian or Yu Yan followed him or not, because they wouldn’t be able to do so—as he had already planned to use teleportation to find Ming Yue faster.

Although both he and Sister Ming Yue were strong and capable of protecting themselves against these cultivators, the real issue was the traps. There were many ways to restrain someone of their strength.

Senior Huan had used robes with restriction arrays that nearly turned them into mortals, so there were definitely means to counter their physiques.

The main problem was that their physiques hadn’t fully developed yet. This was something Senior Huan had mentioned, making it easier to counter them if they fell into a trap.

This was also the reason Senior Huan was worried about Sister Ming Yue. Unlike Jiang Hao, who had peerless instincts that made it almost impossible to trap him unless he allowed it, Sister Ming Yue didn’t possess such an ability.

Jiang Hao knew that their identities wouldn’t remain hidden for long. Using masks didn’t keep them safe if they were still displaying their abilities and not laying low.

He had no doubt that Sister Ming Yue must have done something similar, so there was no doubt that by now, this information might already be spreading among cultivators of those sects.

Two of the disciples were missing from these groups, and given that he had seen some minor teleportation talismans in the storage bag of the leader he had killed yesterday, it was a given that each of them might possess some.

Communication talismans might not be allowed within the inheritance site, but there were loopholes one could exploit. All it took was reaching the next safe zone using minor teleportation and informing others, continuing the process until everyone had gathered.

Of course, not everyone had the luxury to do so, but those with strong backing could easily manage it.

Just as he was thinking this, he heard a voice.

"Where the hell are you?"

It was Yin Ni.

Jiang Hao was slightly surprised—it had been a long time since he had heard her voice.

"Senior, you’re awake?"

He spoke very softly, as Jing Tian and Yu Yan were catching up, but he had no doubt that Senior Yin Ni could hear him.

"Hmm... what do you mean ’awake’? Do you think I was sleeping or something?"

Jiang Hao didn’t know how to respond. Before departing, she had said she was going to heal herself and wouldn’t speak to him for a while.

He didn’t know what state she had been in, but she had certainly been unable to perceive the outside world—which, to him, was equivalent to being asleep.

"Anyway, is this a separate dimension?"

"Yes, Senior. It’s an inheritance site created by mighty figures in ancient times to leave hope for humanity."

"Interesting... No wonder I felt the laws here to be incomplete. Well, the space in the lower realm is very fragile. It is easy to create a dimension like this if you are at the Tribulation Ascendance Realm."

Jiang Hao was a little confused upon hearing that. But he didn’t ask, as Jing Tian and Yu Yan had now caught up to him.

He was still in the middle region, while more and more cultivators were heading toward the core area for inheritances.

"Senior, you do know that these people have already started spreading news about you across the world, right?"

Jiang Hao looked calmly at Jing Tian. He was somewhat amused by how this man kept addressing him as ’Senior.’ It was true that people in a higher cultivation realm were addressed as such, regardless of age—but that was strictly based on realm, not strength.

So, him being only eighteen years old while they were in the same realm did not require such respect. Although he didn’t care what the man called him, it was amusing nonetheless.

"So?"

"Well, I mean... they might have already created traps for you."

"And what of it?"

Jing Tian was rendered speechless. He was merely trying to offer a warning out of goodwill. Why was it so difficult to speak to this man?

"You should worry about yourself. Associating with me will be your end. I don’t think you understand the severity of this situation. You think they treat us as mere traitors? You will soon understand just how wrong you are."

Jiang Hao didn’t say anything more. Being labeled traitors was merely a front for the public. The two sects were afraid of them, and for their own survival, they wouldn’t hold back anything.

He had no doubt that they had done their best to eliminate both Jiang Hao and Ming Yue inside the inheritance site. Who knew if such a method truly existed? He doubted it would exist at the Core Formation Realm, but being prepared was never wrong.

Jing Tian and Yu Yan were stunned by his words. The situation seemed far more grave than they had originally thought. They hadn’t believed Azure Sky Sect and Ethereal Cloud Sanctuary when they declared the two as criminals, because they suspected these sects were hiding something.

In fact, they thought the true enmity lay between the Heavenly Sisters and the Azure Sky Sect, while the Ethereal Cloud Sanctuary had merely involved themselves for profit. Jiang Hao and Ming Yue had been caught up in the storm because they were disciples of the Heavenly Sisters.

They had tried to seek answers through the Sky Pavilion, but even the Sky Pavilion wasn’t disclosing the truth for now.

Finally, Jiang Hao arrived at the city gate—it was the back gate, used only for exiting.

The cultivators from both sects appeared to be following them too, but from a very long distance.

After leaving the city, the pillar of light marking the next safe zone became visible. But instead of looking toward it, Jiang Hao looked in another direction. There was another pillar of light in that direction, but it was very thin.

This meant that the safe zone was very far from his current position. If he was to find Ming Yue, he had to investigate that distant zone.

He wasn’t sure how far she had been teleported from him; he could only try to locate her by moving diagonally instead of straight.

When Jing Tian saw him gazing at the other pillar, he immediately understood that Jiang Hao was heading for a different safe zone.

Given Jiang Hao’s speed, it wasn’t impossible for him to reach that zone—in fact, if he wished, he could arrive there in a couple of hours.

But if that happened, Jing Tian wouldn’t be able to keep up with him. He thought for a moment, and only one idea came to mind.

"Senior, are you heading to that zone?"

Jiang Hao nodded.

"How about we use minor teleportations? That way we’ll reach faster."

Jiang Hao looked at him but didn’t object. It didn’t matter whether he used the ring’s ability or minor teleportation; he simply wanted to reach that safe zone quickly.

There was indeed some difference between using the ring’s ability and using a minor teleportation talismans.

His ring teleported him using spirit qi even the minor teleportation ability uses qi stored by the ring itself. It created a passage based on the number of people being teleported, which required a large amount of spirit qi.

Minor teleportation was different. He didn’t know exactly how talismans worked, because it was inconceivable for a mere piece of paper to store the amount needed to move cultivators. The process was clearly different.

He had seen talismans used before—whenever a talisman was activated, it felt as though the qi came from nature itself. It was as if the talisman borrowed nature’s qi to function, but how that was achieved remained a mystery to him.

Minor teleportations had a fixed range of a thousand miles, and the passage they opened was also fixed—five cultivators could easily pass through at a time.

This was also why using a minor teleportation for a single person was considered wasteful.

The next zone might be around two thousand miles away, so they would have to use two minor teleportations. But since this fellow was from a major sect, he undoubtedly possessed more than enough.

Just as they were discussing this, a spirit beast began circling above them. It was one from the Azure Sky Sect—a hawk.

"They’re afraid to come close, so they’re using this tactic to keep an eye on you, Senior," Jing Tian commented.

Jiang Hao looked up at the hawk—it was indeed quite high in the sky.

But it seemed that the two sects still didn’t know his physical strength was sufficient to kill it without flying or teleporting anywhere near it.

He didn’t have a spear on him. Perhaps there was one in the storage bag he had obtained from the inheritance, but there was no need. He could simply ask these two.

"You two have a spear?"

Jing Tian was stunned. He didn’t even know how strong Jiang Hao truly was, but he had heard from Yu Yan that the barrier around her house had definitely been broken by a physical impact.

So, there was a chance that Jiang Hao’s physical strength was indeed immense—just like his speed.

He himself didn’t carry spears, as he was a saber user. But his junior sister certainly had some, as she was a spear user. He wasn’t sure if she would lend one to Jiang Hao, given how angry she was at him for breaking the barrier around her house.
