"Do you think this is the right time to talk about your favorite ice cream?"

"I just realized that I never got to give you the list of my favorite ice cream flavors from the store."

"Then all the more reason for you to stay by my side, you little shit."

"I like Hyung’s cheesy tteokbokki, but I like your kimchi fried rice the best. Especially when you make fried chicken to pair with it, even though you complain about how greasy it is."

"I don’t usually care about what I eat as long as it gives me the nutrients I need to stay alive. But ever since I met Hyung, I started to enjoy food. Well, you kind of forced me to be a foodie, but I don’t hate you for it. In fact, I’m grateful that you helped me put my taste buds to good use."

"Stop it, Noh Yuno," Gayoon pleaded Noh Yuno. He wasn’t the type to beg, but his voice sounded so desperate that even he thought he was being pathetic. "Say that to me once we get out of here." He extended his hand to Noh Yuno because he realized he couldn’t move his legs anymore. "Come here, Yuno-ya."

"Just one more thing, Hyung," Noh Yuno said, not budging from where he stood. "This part is important."

"I said stop—"

"Gayoon Hyung, I’ll die if you die— so don’t you dare lose to anyone while we’re apart," Noh Yuno "threatened" him. "I also don’t like my siblings that much, so please crash our "family reunion" and take me away as soon as possible."

Haaah.

Gayoon could feel it.

I’m about to disappear at any moment.

"You’re really going to be the end of me, Noh Yuno," Gayoon said, dropping his arm because he knew it was already too late to change Noh Yuno’s mind. The four looked confused.

"Boss, what happened?" Baekho asked curiously. "I remember driving the car with those kids. We were headed to Lee Woonhak’s clinic."

"Don’t ask," Gayoon said, annoyed. "I don’t know what’s going on either."

He glanced at Kang Dabin who was still in Lucca’s arms.

Fortunately, it looked like Kang Dabin had already calmed down.

It was probably because they were already far from the mansion full of negative Mana that was harmful to Espers like them.

I guess we don’t need to call Woonhak Hyung.

"Hyung-nim," Yang Younjae said, tensed. "Intruders..."

The "intruders" appeared out of thin air even before Yang Youngjae finished talking.

Gayoon smirked bitterly while looking at the "intruders" that he didn’t mind welcoming in his home. "Did Noh Yuno commission you to bring that bastard to me?"

And, yes, the three criminals brought Bambi with them.

The S-Class Guide had a paper bag covering his entire face. The paper bag was actually an Item that was at least A-Grade. So, the Rogue Clan members probably used it on Bambi to block his senses.

Again— yes— Bambi is still alive.

That’s the main ability of the Rogue Clan’s Captain.

Hence, the fact that Bambi was "burned to ashes" was nothing but a powerful illusion.

"Guide Noh Yuno-ssi didn’t commission us to kidnap Guide Bambi-ssi," the female Esper— the Vice Captain of the Rogue Clan— said. "But after hearing our plan, Guide Noh Yuno-ssi told us to bring Guide Bambi-ssi here. Apparently, Esper Ki Gayoon-ssi will help us hide Guide Bambi-ssi from Esper Ryu Sungbin-ssi."

Ki Gayoon just raised an eyebrow at Bambi.

Right now, the two of them were inside Beom-seok— the dungeon he owned. And, yes, he brought the pink-haired bastard there.

That entrance led to a simple cabin located in the woods— far from his mansion.

"We already know that you worked with those bastards who call themselves Noh Yuno’s "siblings,"" Gayoon said, leaning against the chair while crossing his arms over his chest. "Tell me. Where did those bastards take Noh Yuno?"

"I don’t know," Bambi said casually, sitting still on the chair across from Gayoon. "Even if you kill me, I still can’t give you the answer you want to hear. When we made a deal, I didn’t ask them where they planned to bring Noh Yuno."

Gayoon didn’t want to admit this.

But it didn’t seem like Bambi was lying.

This pink bastard really doesn’t know anything.

"Noh Yuno’s "siblings" are pretty useful, you know?" Bambi said, obviously provoking Gayoon. "We almost didn’t get along. I wanted Noh Yuno gone, but they needed him alive and well."

Gayoon didn’t show it, but he was relieved to hear the last part of what Bambi said.

If those bastards need Noh Yuno alive and well, then they won’t kill him right away. Is that the reason why that punk allowed himself to be kidnapped?

"I was very impressed when they hatched a plan to turn Noh Yuno into a traitor," Bambi said, resting his chin on the palms of his hands. "Getting Noh Yuno witch-hunted by the entire country was a brilliant way of getting him out of my way without killing him."

Which kind of confused him.

I expected this bastard to come here to my office since I didn’t hide my tracks.

Gayoon, curious about Ryu Sungbin’s whereabouts, picked up the call.

<"Thanks for confirming that Bambi is alive.">

Gayoon rolled his eyes at Ryu Sungbin’s sarcasm. "I know that you know Bambi is still alive. I’m disappointed that you quickly gained your senses, though. It was funny to see you losing your shit when the Rogue Clan Captain showed you the illusion of Bambi getting burned to ashes."

<"Are you done making fun of me?">

"Get your eyes over here and let’s finish the fight, Ryu Sungbin."

<"I don’t need to hurry over there because I know you won’t kill Bambi. You need him alive if you want to negotiate with me, right?">

"Me? Negotiate with you? Ryu Sungbin, I know you don’t even know where Noh Yuno is."

<"Yes, we don’t. But I can help you with something else.">

"Why would I need your help—"

<"Ki Gayoon, the Awakened World Organization has responded to Noh Yuno’s call.">

"What?"

<"They sent 17, the official #1 Esper in the world, to investigate you since you’re Noh Yuno’s partner.">

Fuck it.

Gayoon wasn’t scared of 17— he just found it annoying to deal with another bastard when he should be looking for Noh Yuno.

Should he just erase South Korea from the map?

<"Even if it’s you, you can’t handle 17 and the Awakened World Organization on your own, Ki Gayoon— you need my help.">

"Yeah, no," Gayoon said, scoffing. "Do you think you’re the only one with blackmail material here?"

If Ryu Sungbin had the government seized, then Gayoon had the Esper Association at the palm of his hand.
