Chapter 214: SELF-SARCIFICIAL MINDSET

TSK.

A Stone Golem?

Ki Gayoon clicked his tongue when Erwan summoned a Stone Golem that was probably around 3 meters.

Moon Noa’s ceiling was over 3 meters high, hence the monster’s head didn’t hit the roof.

I know because I was the one who renovated this mansion.

Gayoon pulled out a stone spear from his Inventory, and then he kicked off the ground— leaping high. Gripping the massive weapon in one hand, he cut through the air and soared higher.

He wanted to finish the fight as soon as possible.

But then his Status Window appeared before him, distracting him a little.

[Activating <Beyond the Wall> Skill!]

Gayoon scoffed at the corny skill name.

It’s just an X-ray vision that allows me to see anything made of concrete, dirt, and the likes, so why give it a name like that?

Tsk.

This System has no naming sense.

Anyway, Gayoon’s landed on the Stone Golem’s head— creating cracks all over it because he made his body sturdier than the Stone Golem’s "skin."

As a result, the Stone Golem’s head immediately got crushed.

He then readjusted his grip on his spear, and then his weapon pierced through the monster’s head— skewering it from the top of its head downward.

And then he hit it.

Different Stone Golems had their hearts hidden in different parts of their bodies.

This particular monster had its heart hidden in its "neck."

As soon as Gayoon’s spear hit what was supposed to be the Stone Golem’s heart...

"Oh, dear," Erwan commented, faking the sympathy in his voice, while looking up at Gayoon with a haughty smile on his face. "Gayoon-ssi, you can only blame your short temper for this."

Argh!

Gayoon clutched his chest tight when he felt a sudden pang in his heart— no, in his Core.

He lost strength at the same time the Stone Golem collapsed to the floor, its body breaking into pieces— big "pieces" of boulders, to be precise.

As much as he wanted to avoid getting buried in the rubble, he couldn’t.

Gayoon felt his Mana drop to the Red Zone before everything turned black.

Dammit.

***

YUNO felt a shiver down his spine when the ground started shaking a little— and then it "exploded."

Argh!

He hugged himself and rubbed his arms when he recognized the chilling Mana that made the air heavy.

It’s Gayoon Hyung— and he’s on the verge of going on a Rampage!

Yuno’s body automatically moved, running towards the door.

But a "mouth" appeared on his feet, causing him to be swallowed by darkness.

Only for a moment, though.

The next thing Yuno knew, he was already lying down next to Moon Noa.

Fuck, I can’t escape...

Wait.

Yuno used his elbows to prop himself, turning to Moon Noa.

Oh, shit.

The shield was gone— the System’s protection had collapsed already.

Damn, these noonas are scary.

Yuno still remembered how he suffered from the "discipline" of his siblings, so this was one of the few instances where he knew he should keep his mouth shut.

"Yihun-ah, I’m giving you two choices," Sara said while touching a big white leech wrapped around her leg. It almost looked like a snake. "We can beat you up before dragging you back home, or you can come with us on your own. You’re a smart kid, and I know you hate getting hurt. So, I hope you make the right choice."

"I’m using my brain, so please keep your mouth shut for a moment, Noona," Yuno said. He was done keeping his mouth shut, but he used a polite tone since he didn’t want to get beaten up to a pulp. "Plus, I don’t trust you."

"Who cares whether you trust us or not?" Bibi asked, scoffing. "You’re lucky it was Sara who was sent here to fetch you. If it were the others, you would have been beaten to a pulp already."

Yuno shut his eyes tight, pretending to be deep in thought.

But, actually, he just tried if he could still see the Status Window with his eyes shut.

Hey, Status Window. I’m ready to make a choice. Can you hear me?

[Yes, go ahead and make your choice, Guide Noh Yuno-nim.]

Oho?

It worked.

Let me save Gayoon Hyung.

Yep, that was the choice Yuno made not because he was suicidal— but because Ki Gayoon’s safety and survival were more important than his own.

[Then please follow my instructions.]

How demanding.

"Noona, I’ve made up my mind," Yuno said, opening his eyes— only to be shocked. "What the fuck?"

Sara and Bibi were both pointing a dagger at Yuno when he opened his eyes.

"Are you showing your true colors already?"

"It’s not like that, Yihun-ah," Sara explained, putting down her dagger while gesturing to Bibi to do the same. "You just looked strange for a moment."

Damn, these noonas are sensitive.

If Sara could mess with the System’s protection, then Yuno figured Sara could also sense the System in a way.

Sara Noona probably felt the System talking to me earlier.

Thankfully, these people didn’t know about the ’personal’ Status Window yet.

Well, probably.

"I’ll come home with you or whatever," Yuno said, propping himself up with his elbows. "But in one condition: let me guide Gayoon Hyung first. You can feel him going on a Rampage, can’t you?"

"Yes, and that’s the plan," Bibi said, laughing at Yuno. "Espers are as good as done when they go insane."

"And I’m saying I won’t let that happen," Yuno said firmly, and then he pulled out a Mana Stone from his Inventory. "So, let’s make an oath. If you let me guide Gayoon Hyung, I’ll come with you on my own."

Bibi smirked while shaking her head. "And why would we listen to you? We’re the ones who have the upper hand here."

"I can kill myself out of spite, Noonas— and you both know that."

Sara and Bibi suddenly turned serious while looking at him with cold eyes.

"If Gayoon Hyung dies, I’ll die, too," Yuno said. He may have sounded nonchalant because that was his tone most of the time, but he was dead serious. "Gayoon Hyung is, like, 90% of the reason why I’m enjoying life now. So, if he dies, I won’t have a reason to live."

I’m glad Gayoon Hyung isn’t here to listen to what I’m saying now or else I’ll die from embarrassment.

"And you can’t stop me from killing myself," Yuno said in the same nonchalant voice. "But you need me alive, don’t you? If you don’t, you would have killed me already the moment I ran my mouth."

Bibi frowned when Yuno hit the bull’s eye, and then she turned to Sara.

So, Sara Noona is the one who has the final say.

"Erwan Oppa said we need you to bring you back without a fight," Sara said, pausing for a moment before she nodded. "Alright— let’s make an oath, Yihun-ah." She then pressed the earring in her left ear. "But let me give Erwan Oppa a report first."

***

MAYBE it was a mistake to force Ki Gayoon to go on a Rampage.

Erwan was starting to regret his decision.

Ki Gayoon— despite losing his mind— attacked with precision.

This bastard is really determined to kill me.

Stone spears kept emerging from the floor and the walls, every single one flying towards Erwan. Every time he conjured walls to block Ki Gayoon’s attack, that bastard would either create a sinkhole or try to bury him in rubble by making the ceiling fall on him.

I’m only half-Esper, so I can’t keep up with him even though we have the same ability.

Maybe it was high time to end that fight.

We already have everything we need anyway.

"Oppa, we’re here."

Erwan was suspended in the air while being surrounded by the stone walls that he created to protect himself when, all of a sudden, a large mouth appeared next to him.

Finally.

Bibi emerged from the parted lips, standing on the violet tongue while holding Noh Yihun by the neck.

"Great timing, Bibi-ya," Erwan praised his younger sibling. "Give that brat to me."

The ’brat’ would be Noh Yihun, of course.

Bibi casually threw Noh Yihun in Erwan’s direction, and Erwan caught his rebellious younger brother by the neck.

"You’re not putting up a fight, Yihun-ah."

"I don’t fight when I know I’ll lose," Noh Yihun said nonchalantly. "But can you not grab me by the neck? It hurts, Hyung-nim."

"You’re an Awakened Person, so stop whining," Erwan said, scoffing. "Just endure it for a while."

"Hyung-nim, you know about the oath that Sara Noona and I made, right? I heard her report to you. If your side breaks the promise, then Sara Noona will die."

"I know— that’s why I’m telling you to stay put. I’ll let you guide Ki Gayoon."

"Good thinking, Hyung-nim."

Erwan didn’t respond because the walls around them finally collapsed due to a single individual who kept throwing punches at it.

Red eyes.

So damn scary.

The terrifying glowing red eyes that greeted Erwan gave him the chills— causing him to throw Noh Yihun in Ki Gayoon’s direction just to distract the Hunter.

Mission accomplished.

***

THE RENOVATION of this mansion would probably cost billions of won.

That was Yuno’s thought after seeing the state of the mansion— all the while being thrown at the rampaging Ki Gayoon.

These bastards treat me like a rag-doll...

To be honest, Yuno wasn’t even sure if Ki Gayoon would catch him since the Hunter was obviously out of his mind at the moment.

Fortunately, he was just being pessimistic.

Ki Gayoon caught Yuno in his arms mid-air, and then the Hunter carried him in his arms like the "princess" that he was before they landed on the ground safely.

Is it just my imagination or Hyung’s eyes are not as crazy as I expect them to be?

"Noh Yuno...!"

Yep, Hyung hasn’t completely lost it yet.

"I’m sorry," Yuno said, cupping Ki Gayoon’s face between his hands— placing a soft kiss on the Hunter’s lips. "Let me guide you first before you scold me, Hyung."

Ki Gayoon looked like he wanted to curse, so Yuno immediately captured the Hunter’s lips for a deep kiss this time.

The older man tried to reject him by closing his mouth, though.

But, of course, he wasn’t discouraged.

Yuno nibbled on Ki Gayoon’s lower lip gently.

But when the Hunter didn’t budge, he chose "violence."

Yuno bit Ki Gayoon’s lower lip— he bit it so hard that he tasted blood instantly.

Heh.

Of course, Ki Gayoon was forced to part his lips to complain, but Yuno plunged his tongue deep into the Hunter’s mouth.

That was when his lover’s stubbornness ended.

Ki Gayoon’s tongue soon dominated Yuno’s tongue, finally devouring his mouth like what he wanted the Hunter to do.

Gayoon Hyung needs to be distracted.

Ki Gayoon needed to be distracted so that he wouldn’t notice that his physical body was starting to turn translucent.

Even with Yuno’s eyes closed, he could still see the Status Window’s message.

[Thank you for your cooperation, Guide Noh Yuno-nim.

The System will now bring Hunter Ki Gayoon-nim and the others to a safe place...]
