Guide Me If You Dare-Chapter 211: LIKE AN ACTION FILM
Chapter 211: LIKE AN ACTION FILM
A ’SAND MOBILE.’
To be honest, Yuno felt like he was in a car chase scene in an action movie by how fast Kang Dabin drove the car. He had to hold onto his seatbelt tight for dear life. But he couldn’t actually see anything since the entire car was covered with sand.
I’m assuming that we’re being attacked.
Anyway, Lucca was quietly sitting in the backseat.
It seems like Lucca-ssi is already used to Dabin Hyung’s awful driving.
"Dabin Hyung, your eyes are glowing," Yuno commented nervously. "You can see through the sand wall that you created, right?"
"Yeah, so don’t worry too much, Madam. I can see through the sand I created," Kang Dabin assured him. "Yang Youngjae is dealing with the other cars chasing us. But there’s a persistent sniper on our tail. You can’t hear or see it, but that bastard is raining bullets on us."
Aigoo.
"I hope they don’t drag the innocent Civilians in this car chase."
"Yu Minju will take care of the sniper soon," Kang Dabin said. "And we’ll be fine once we enter Guide Moon Noa-nim’s village."
Yuno didn’t ask questions because he felt like throwing up after Kang Dabin drove faster.
And here I thought I was a bad driver...
He closed his eyes for a moment while Kang Dabin and Lucca were talking.
Lucca was reminding Kang Dabin not to overdo it.
That made Yuno feel a bit guilty, but what could he do?
He needed Kang Dabin to rescue Moon Noa since the situation seemed dangerous.
I can tell that Sajangnim has already recovered most of his memories. But why did the System fail to protect him? What happened?
Ah, maybe he was asking the wrong questions.
Who the fuck messed with the System?
"Madam, we’re here."
Oh.
When Yuno opened his eyes, he was a bit surprised when he noticed that the sand wall that covered the car earlier was already gone.
And they had already entered the village where Moon Noa lived.
Actually, Sajangnim owns more than half of the houses here. So, this is technically his village.
Yeah, his boss was rich rich.
"I’ll go out first, Madam," Kang Dabin said. "You and Lucca stay here until I open the door."
Yuno nodded. "Understood, Hyung."
BANG.
As soon as Kang Dabin stepped out of the car, a loud explosion was heard.
Yuno didn’t get to see what happened since, in just the blink of an eye, the car was once again covered in sand walls.
"It seems like you’re popular these days, Yuno-ya."
"Please don’t tease me, Lucca-ssi," Yuno said, sighing while shaking his head. "I already feel bad that I’m making Dabin Hyung’s job more difficult. I’m sorry. You must be worried about Dabin Hyung’s condition, and yet I dragged him here for my own selfish wishes."
"You don’t have to apologize to me or Dabin Hyung, Yuno-ya," Lucca said kindly, his smile almost making his face shine brighter than it already did. Truly an angel on earth, huh? "We’re all just doing our job here. Especially you. It’s the first time I heard about the System directly giving an order to an individual. Your task must be crucial for the safety of our country."
That was true.
After all, even if Sajangnim isn’t the official #1 Guide in the world, every Guide in the world knows that the System favors him for being the first S-Class Guide to ever awaken.
Yuno’s train of thought was interrupted when the door to his side opened.
The sand wall had already collapsed, too.
"Madam, it’s now safe to go out."
Yuno just nodded, and then he stepped out of the car.
He ignored the corpses (?) he saw at the side of the car as he walked straight to the mansion. The gate was already destroyed, but it seemed like the mansion was empty.
But it wasn’t like he was being reckless.
In fact, Yuno let Kang Dabin walk in front of him while Lucca volunteered to walk behind him.
Hence, he felt safe.
"Madam, stay behind me," Kang Dabin said while placing his hand on the door. "I’m going to open the door now."
Yuno nodded, even taking a step backward to create a safe distance between him and Kang Dabin. "I got it, Hyung."
Kang Dabin used his Mana to "open" the door.
It was no surprise that the door was sent flying.
Aigoo.
Dabin Hyung could have just opened the door normally...
In the end, Kang Dabin was really Ki Gayoon’s one and only friend.
"Argh!"
Kang Dabin suddenly fell to the ground after taking a few steps inside the mansion, the Esper clutching his chest tightly.
Yuno and Lucca were both Guides, so they immediately realized what happened.
Kang Dabin’s Mana immediately dropped to the Red Zone— the dangerous level where the Esper could go on a Rampage at any moment.
Shit!
Cores.
There were broken pieces of Guide Cores on the floor— and those fragments were modified to harm Espers. The higher an Esper rank was, the more messed up they became when exposed to the fragments.
And Dabin Hyung is an S-Class Esper.
"Lucca-ssi, get Dabin Hyung out of here!" Yuno yelled while running inside the mansion. He then used his Mana to "cover" the fragments scattered on the floor. "He’ll die if he stays here any longer!"
Lucca looked confused for a moment, but he immediately scooped up Kang Dabin and carried the Esper in his arms. Then the angel looked at him worriedly. "Let’s go, Yuno-ya."
"I have to stay here and block the fragments from killing Dabin Hyung," Yuno said, groaning as he released more Mana than usual to stop the fragments’ attacks. "Please guide Dabin Hyung as soon as you get out of here. He must have inhaled some poisonous gas."
Lucca looked like he didn’t want to leave Yuno.
But, in the end, the angel did the right thing.
"I’ll call for help," Lucca said while running away with Kang Dabin in his arms. "Yuno-ya, come out as soon as we’re gone!"
That was the plan.
Hence, when Lucca and Kang Dabin were already out of sight, Yuno stopped releasing his Mana to cover the fragments.
He was about to leave, however...
Argh!
Yuno was shocked when someone grabbed him by the waist— and that someone had seriously cold arms for a human.
"It’s been a while, Yihun-ah."
Hmm?
Yuno turned to his side and looked up at the person who grabbed him by the waist.
That handsome yet cold face...
"Erwan Hyung-nim..."
It was Erwan, the new leader of Father’s Disciples (after Noh Yihun was demoted)...
... and the most perfect Dual-Class "soldier."
"Yihun-ah, you’ve played on your own for so long," Erwan said "kindly." His voice sounded warm, but the cold look in his eyes could probably freeze the Han River with just one glance. "It’s time for you to return to the siblings you’ve abandoned."
"I’m afraid that won’t be possible, Hyung-nim," Yuno said bluntly. "You see, my partner is kind of possessive."
As if on cue, a loud explosion from the outside caused the ground to shake.
He’s finally here.
The explosion was then followed by the release of a bloodlust thicker than anything Yuno had felt in a long while.
Ah, Gayoon Hyung is mad mad.
