"SAY THAT again," Ki Gayoon said in an irritated voice, putting a cinnamon stick in his mouth. Every time he heard bullshit from people who he was working with, he couldn’t help but feel the urge to smoke. But since had already quit smoking, he had to make do with a stupid cinnamon stick. "Moon Noa brought whom home?"

<"It’s hard to believe, right? But you heard it correctly the first time, Gayoon-san. Noa-san brought home Sungbin-san with him.">

"So, the sly fox has finally gone senile."

When Gayoon called Haru to keep an eye on Moon Noa because the sly fox was acting strange, he already expected to arrive in Korea in three to five hours after his call.

Does this have something to do with you paying the fine for Noh Yuno’s contract? Did you make a deal with Ryu Sungbin? You stupid sly fox."

<"Ki Gayoon, I can only tolerate a little disrespect from you.">

Gayoon didn’t want to admit this, but Moon Noa sounded frightening when he was using that tone— the voice that was cold enough to freeze water.

Moon Noa used to be a scary person before he started acting goofy.

<"I have my reasons, but I can’t say it on the phone. So, come here and bring Yuyu with you. I need to talk to him in person, but I can’t leave the house.">

"No."

<"Excuse me?">

"Noh Yuno is busy with an important task," Gayoon said sternly. "But since I can’t trust you at the moment, I can’t tell you what we’re up to at the moment."

Gayoon ended the call before Moon Noa could complain.

This is bad.

That damned Ryu Sungbin used his brain this time.

"Matthew-ssi was here a moment ago, but he disappeared," Yuno said bluntly. "I think he’s not yet ready to say his goodbyes."

Kim Jaeha suddenly turned pale. "Is Matthew Hyung gonna disappear once his Core finds its new host?"

He knew that, and yet he still couldn’t help it.

"Yuno Hyung has always been like that," Kwon Hojun said with a faint smile on his face. "Even though he often claims that he doesn’t care about other people, he’d still be the first one to help if help is needed. So, he’s actually a busybody despite claiming that he minds his own business."

Ouch.

Fortunately, Kwon Hojun said all those stupid things affectionately.

If other people said that to me, I’d be pissed.

"That’s right," Kim Jaeha agreed with Kwon Hojun while nodding. "Yuno Hyung actually helped me the first time we met..."

The kid suddenly fell silent.

And then Kim Jaeha knitted his eyebrows as if he suddenly fell into a deep thought.

"What’s wrong with this kid?" Kwon Hojun asked curiously, and then he waved his free hand in front of Kim Jaeha’s face. "Yah. Are you alright?"

Kim Jaeha finally snapped out of his daze, and then he gently swatted away Kwon Hojun’s hand before he turned to Yuno. "Hyung, do you remember the first time we met? I was with Matthew Hyung then."

"Of course, I remember. That Matthew-ssi beat me to a pulp back then."

And it was because Yuno called the police on Matthew.

Well, who told that bastard to have sex in the car parked in front of our convenience store?

"If our calculations are correct, then that Matthew Hyung wasn’t the real Matthew Hyung."

"Yes, that’s highly possible."

"Yuno Hyung, I remember Matthew Hyung dragging me to your store that day even though we actually didn’t need condoms back then. He always had one in his wallet," Kim Jaeha said, his face red as if he was shy about sharing that information with them. "Moreover, we weren’t really doing it in the car back then."

"Huh?" Now Yuno was curious. "I saw the car shaking then, so I assumed you were doing the nasty."

Kim Jaeha’s face turned even more red now. "Well, we were kind of fighting back then. Anyway, I remember that Matthew Hyung kept glancing in your direction as if he was observing you, Yuno Hyung."

Oho?

That was new.

But, actually, that made more sense than a high-ranking Esper having car sex in front of a convenience store.

However...

"Back then, not even Bambi-ssi knew that I was a Guide," Yuno said, wondering out loud. "So, how would Matthew-ssi know that I am one? As far as I know, I only caught their attention when I became Gayoon Hyung’s Exclusive Guide."

Of course, he didn’t get a response from Kwon Hojun and Kim Jaeha who both looked as clueless as he was.

It’s not like I’m expecting a response from these kids anyway.

Yuno thought he should talk to Ki Gayoon about it later.

"It’s ready, Yuno-ya."

It was Lee Sarang who returned to the room.

Brrr.

Yuno, Kwon Hojun, and Kim Jaeha all shivered because as soon as Lee Sarang stepped into the room, it suddenly got cold in there.

"Oops, sorry."

It seemed like Lee Sarang adjusted the temperature in the room since it was suddenly back to normal.

At least, it’s not as cold as it was now.

"Sarang Noona, I know I don’t need to ask," Yuno said, greeting Lee Sarang with a confident smile. "Did you succeed?"

"You shouldn’t have asked," Lee Sarang answered playfully, and then she pulled out an Ice Cube the size of a small treasure chest from her Inventory. "It’s here."

IT’S so freaking cold in here.

Right now, Yuno was in the room that Lee Sarang had turned into a giant freezer when she created the Ice Cube.

He wasn’t alone in there.

Of course, Kwon Hojun was there since he couldn’t let go of the kid’s hand.

Ki Gayoon was there, too.

As well as Lee Sarang.

Okay, let’s get this done and over with.

"Gayoon Hyung, don’t freak out, okay?" Yuno warned his lover while putting a hand over his chest. "What I’m about to do may look painful, but it’s actually not. So, calm down and don’t disturb me, okay? You’ll sleep on the sofa if you overreact."

Ki Gayoon frowned. "I’ll try."

"Gayoon Hyung."

Ki Gayoon let out a frustrated sigh. "Fine, I’ll keep calm and let you do your job."

Yuno nodded and gently patted Ki Gayoon’s butt, and then he turned to Kwon Hojun when Ki Gayoon glared at him for his mischievousness. "Hojun-ah, close your eyes. This isn’t something a child like you should be seeing."

"I’m not a child anymore, Hyung," Kwon Hojun said, and then he closed his eyes. "But, fine. I’ll listen to you."

"Good."

Yuno let out a deep breath— then he stabbed his hand on his chest, a hole opening and swallowing his hand.

Blood was spilled, too.

Of course, Ki Gayoon still overreacted despite his promise earlier.

"Noh Yuno!"

Aigoo.

So overprotective.
