Fake Marriage To The Richest Tycoon-Chapter 279 - 278: Where did Shentu Chu went?
Chapter 279: Chapter 278: Where did Shentu Chu went?
The stairs creaked underneath. Shentu Jing knew that he had company. He leaped up the last and brandished his sword. That person also ran up the stairs.
In that second, he saw the silver glint of a barrel. The gun cocked.
"I didn’t know you know how to use a gun," Shentu Jing said with a nonchalant expression.
Shentu Chu stood before him, a gun by his side. He seemed calm like he was expecting him.
"And you know how to wield a sword. In Shengjing, not much people use swords. That’s too old fashioned," Shentu Chu smiled back.
Standing face to face in the dilapidated abandoned house, Shentu Chu and Shentu Jing were finally going to have a duel.
Their hands were by their side on their respective weapons. A silent countdown began ticking.
One....
Two....
Three...
Then Shentu Chu pulled the gun out from the holster and pointed it at him.
At that second, the bullet fired at Shentu Jing’s head but SWAMP! He unsheathed his sword and slashed the bullet off. The bullet broke to half and bounced on the floor.
Shentu Chu fired the multiple bullets at Shentu Jing to slow him down but Shentu Jing swung his sword, cutting the bullets into half and blocking them professionally.
"Not bad, second brother," Shentu Chu said in a taunting voice.
"You’re not bad either," Shentu Jing smirked.
"Let’s have a duel, second brother," he suggested with a devilish smile.
"Why not?"
Soon, the walls were inflicted with long and short slash marks as well as bullets.
Shentu Chu attacked, Shentu Jing parried and dodged. If this keeps up, Shentu Jing had no idea how long his strength would last. Shentu Jing switched his strategy, now he attacked Shentu Chu. Shentu Chu hid behind a pillar to avoid the sword.
He moved left and right to dodged the sharp blade. The place had turned into a battleground.
Shentu Chu looked over his shoulder. The middle room where another statue stood on a dusty table laid on the centre of the room. Then he quickly turned and made a dash for that room.
Shentu Chu’s fingers were closed to snatching the statue when the blade of a sword swoosh past him.
Shentu Chu had to moved backwards. He dodged just in time before the blade cut him.
Shentu Jing stood between him and the table.
"If you want it, you have to defeat me first," Shentu Jing held the sword tightly.
Shentu Chu scoffed. "Defeat you? My gun is faster than your sword. Who do you think you are, Quicksilver?"
"Then, shall we see?" Shentu Jing’s eyes held an uncomprehending glint, his lips curved into a smirk.
"Weapons have no eyes. Don’t blame me for what happens next," Shentu Chu held up the gun and grinned.
"As you said,"
The bullet fired....
Shentu Jing charged forward with the sword in hand....
Whoosh!
A strong gush of wind scattered the papers in the house.
The barrel of Shentu Chu’s him was slashed off!
Astonished and angry, Shentu Chu could only resort to trickery. He knew he could never win Shentu Jing in a fight. He may have received training secretly but he was no match for Shentu Jing who spent years in the military.
The edge of Shentu Jing’s sword was chipped away. That means the blade wasn’t strong enough to take another hit.
Seeing no chance of winning, Shentu Chu ran, jumping over a couch, with Shentu Jing hot on his tail. Up ahead was a dead end. Shentu Jing forced himself to run faster, his hand could almost reach Shentu Chu.
But before he could tug on Shentu Chu’s jacket, Shentu Chu dropped something out from his sleeves.
Shentu Jing cast his eyes down. A smoke bomb!
Terrible wists of smoke loomed over him. Shentu Jing was forced to stop in his tracks, using his hand to cover his nose and mouth while coughing violently. He strained his eyes to look through the smoke but Shentu Chu wasn’t there.
Fuck.
Finally the smoke cleared and Shentu Jing quickly rushed to the edge of the building, scanning his surroundings. Shentu Chu was no longer in sight. Where could he go?
The next moment, there was a loud sound of blades whirring, a strong circulation of wind hit the building. Then, a helicopter rose up to where Shentu Jing stood.
Shentu Chu was prepared. He even brought over a helicopter. He had a smug expression as he looked at his brother.
"Shentu Chu, why are you doing this?" Shentu Jing asked, tone cold and icy.
"Because I know what it’s like to feel pain and do nothing about it," Shentu Chu replied. The helicopter moved further and further away from the building.
Shentu Jing glared at him murderously, fingers tightening around his sword. If he had his gun, he could have shot down the helicopter and forced Shentu Chu to return to the building.
"Shentu Chu! Where are you going!?"
Shentu Chu sat at the edge of the seat, the helicopter’s blades stirring the air around them, leaves flew about as if there was a tornado.
"To accomplish my goals," he replied. The helicopter whizzed away, the figure of Shentu Chu got smaller and smaller as the distance between them increased. Shentu Chu smiled and waved at Shentu Jing.
When he was gone, the air became so quiet that not even a drop of pin could be heard. Shentu Jing retracted the sword.
He needed to figure out what was Shentu Chu trying to do.
What was his goals? What did he want? Shentu Jing pressed a button on his watch.
"Ding Yu, track down Shentu Chu’s location,"
A few minutes later, Ding Yu’s panicky voice came through.
"Boss, I can’t track him down. It seems like he’s using a jamming device,"
Shentu Jing hung up. He gritted his teeth and looked over the view of the city.
Shentu Chu had backup. But from whom? Who was giving him the technology to do so?
That night, Shentu Jing came home to Skyward Peak Residence. When he got back, Shentu Jing stumbled forward.
