"Repay you?" Shentu Chu’s eyes darkened and he scoffed. "Are you doing this out of care or just to comfort your guilty heart? You were her best friend, yet you didn’t help her when she was in trouble. Tell me, Ning Ning, are you worthy of being her friend, her trusted confidante?"

Whether she stole her work or not, it didn’t make sense that she would steal Ning Ning’s, s novice in the industry at that time. That only proved Qin Siyue’s design was the best. Ning Ning ran frantically to the crash site. A tanker had crashed into many cars, spilling oil and burning a lot of people and shops. Her body was found amongst the broken metal of the car, crushed and bloodied.

Beside her were two kids, one boy and one girl. Ning Ning quickly ran off to call for help.

Ning Ning slowly dragged her feet to the door and left, looking as if her soul had been lost.

Tang An called at that moment.

Shentu Chu had a solemn expression as he hung up the phone after listening to a few sentences of Tang An’s.

After Ning Ning was gone, Shentu Chu dropped to his knees and leaned over the coffee table, eyes red.

They stayed in that position until midnight. Shentu Chu felt his muscles stiff. He turned and looked over his shoulders to see that Qiao Nian had fallen asleep in this position. Silently, he turned around, removing her hands from his waist. Then he scooped her up and carried her to her room.

He put a blanket over her, making sure everything was comfy for her. Shentu Chu planted a kiss on her forehead and whispered against her skin, "Thank you, Nian Nian,"

He walked back downstairs where he set a security system in case someone tried to harm Nian Nian. Taking one last look at her room from below, he stepped out of the door and into the dark night.

A few hours later.

Shentu Chu stepped into the dusty parlour, eyes taking in his surroundings. This place seemed oddly familiar yet oddly unfamiliar.

The other statue was here somewhere. This was the place where the old maid said that Liu Mo often pass by. Tang An had managed to dig out old information concerning Liu Mo.

He walked around, coming across cobwebs, broken beams and what seemed like an altar. There was a box sitting there, dusty and rotten from termites. He opened the box; it contained some photographs that were hard to make out. They had been eaten by termites and dusty.

From above, Shentu Chu heard something soft. Realization hit him! He quickly sprinted up the stairs!
