Fake Marriage To The Richest Tycoon-Chapter 227 - 226: Sneaking into the mansion
Chapter 227: Chapter 226: Sneaking into the mansion
The more the merrier! She replied and continue to wave.
Shentu Chu took hold of Qiao Nian’s have and led her to Qin Zhuzhu.
Sister in law," he greeted, then nodded to Shentu Jing.
"Hi! Who’s this beauty by your side? She’s so cute!" Qin Zhuzhu squealed.
"She’s my... date," Shentu Chu grinned at Qiao Nian. His smile was so charming that Qiao Nian felt weak at her knees. Why was she feeling such a strange feeling in her chest?
"Nice to meet you! I’m Qin Zhuzhu. You two looked perfect!" Qin Zhuzhu showered Qiao Nian with praises.
The two girls chatted and joked together as if they were long lost sisters. Qin Zhuzhu had always wished for a younger sister. Qiao Nian was the kind of sweet naive girl that everyone would wished for as a younger sister.
When the skies darkened, they had to part ways. Seeing them part felt as if two sisters were going to get separated for an eternity.
A heartbreaking and heart wrenching scene.
"Let’s exchange numbers!" Qiao Nian suggested.
Sure!" Qin Zhuzhu and Qiao Nian were very excited to exchange numbers. The two then started to talk about the two men they brought with them.
It was the middle of the night.
Two figures walked around the old large mansion. Shentu Chu unwind a long rope and passed the end to Shentu Jing.
But no one took the other end of the rope. He looked up to see Shentu Jing had already climbed halfway up the wall, placing his feet in the jaggard edges on the wall, fingers holding onto the holes in the walls.
Shentu Chu sighed and muttered, "Why did I forget that he was a good climber?"
So Shentu Chu scaled the high wall of the old Qin mansion under the cover of the dark.
"You’re really something," Shentu Chu grunted, pulling his long legs over the walls.
"What do you mean?" Shentu Jing had landed on the other side. He pressed a button on his watch and it emitted a light.
"Secretly scaling your wife’s old mansion walls," Shentu Chu landed a few minutes after Shentu Jing had walked passed the stone qilins.
"You’re not any better, flirting around with your fiancée’s brother,"
"I’m just playing only!" The elder brother ran after the second brother. If one were to look closely, they might mistook the elder brother for the younger one instead!
The floorboard creaked underneath their shoes, an eerie sound sang throughout the mansion as the wind blew, the air smelt of dust and faint fragrance of lavender.
"I wonder why they abandoned this mansion," Shentu Chu lifted the cobwebs up.
"What did you say that you were looking for?" He poked Shentu Jing from behind.
"A small stature. In one of the old pictures, Liu Mo had a bracelet with the same face of the stature embedded in the beads,"
"Why don’t you ask sister in law about it?"
"She doesn’t know," Shentu Jing replied.
"How are you certain she doesn’t know? You didn’t ask her," Shentu Chu opened a dusty cupboard to find some plates.
"She seemed confused," Shentu Jing stopped before a door.
"Then how did you know that the stature is in here? What does it have to do with that accident?"
"The last place he visited was this mansion. In his last weibo post, he was wearing that bracelet with the face of the stature on it. I’ve asked for the post mortem results; no such thing was found on him. Ding Yu has searched online, that’s how I know," Shentu Jing explained.
"I see. Do you think Liu Mo has something to do with the Qiao family?"
"Why do you ask?"
"I don’t know. I just have a strange feeling that everything seems connected. I don’t know if you’re missing out something or not, second brother. But I’ve always felt like something isn’t right.. That accident seven years ago, I can’t remember it," Shentu Chu turned to Shentu Jing.
Shentu Jing could sense the helplessness in his voice. He wasn’t lying.
"Why didn’t you say anything about it before?" Shentu Jing narrowed his eyes.
"You didn’t tell me you were investigating that accident seven years ago," he shrugged.
Shentu Jing clenched and unclenched his fist.
"You’re saying, you have no memories at all regrading seven years ago?" The tone of Shentu Jing’s voice sounded like it was hard for him to breath.
"Yes," the elder brother confirmed.
"When we get back, I have something to ask you. No jokes,"
Shentu Chu made a face and shrugged in response.
They were currently on the second floor of the mansion and then the third, where the main rooms of the family was located.
Shentu Jing looked at a door to his right. Written on the door in childish handwritten was the words "My Room! Don’t enter!"
Nevertheless, he entered. The room was simple but the style and way of decorating reminded him of her.
This must be her old room. He looked through the drawers where he find some kid’s clothings and toys.
The stature was no longer on the first floor when he entered the mansion. Did someone moved it or has it been taken? Shentu Jing felt anxious. This was his only clue to that accident which changed his life.
He needed those answers. As he walked passed the bed, there was a loud hollow sound.
Shentu Jing stopped, lifted the covers of the bed and peered under. There was a secret compartment. He pushed the bed to one side and lifted the latch.
Musky scent of old wood hit his face, Shentu Jing waved the dust away. He lifted the object out of the secret compartment, running his fingers over it.
He smoothly put everything back to normal and went to explore further. He bumped into Shentu Chu on the fifth floor.
"I thought you were a ghost!" Shentu Chu exclaimed, patting his chest.
"Well, I thought you were an assassin. If you had come nearer, my blade would have been in your stomach by now," Shentu Jing pushed passed him.
"Ah? You carried a blade with you? How long?" Shentu Chu followed behind. "Where is it?" Shentu Chu tried to search Shentu Jing’s body for the blade.
"Don’t ask," he replied and strode into another room.
As they were searching that room, Shentu Jing suddenly put his hand up to stop Shentu Chu from making another noise.
Shentu Chu held his breath. "What’s wrong?"
"Someone’s here,"
As they tried to sneak out of the mansion, multiple rays of light came assaulting them from all sides. Shentu Jing lowered his watch, raising an arm to block the light out.
Standing before them was...
