Captive Mate BL-Chapter 457: + - +
Chapter 457: +Chapter 457+
Silvia tore into the parking lot, parking haphazardly. Her loose black curls were wild, black eyes grim as she half ran to the entrance.
No one stopped her much to her relief as she hurried to the elevator, it wasn’t very often Silvia got sick with anxiety but she had been a nervous wreck ever since Angelo decided to come here.
The elevator ride seemed to go on forever, there were other people in the elevator with her. A middle-aged man who was weighed down with shopping bags and his teenage daughter by his side, a mom holding the hands of her twin toddlers to keep them from running around... It was nothing like what she expected Mafia King’s home to look like.
The elevator gradually emptied the higher it went and by then, she was already tapping her feet impatiently. It was common information that Mafia King Nikolai wasn’t interested in men, Silvia especially knew a lot about that.
After all, Nikolai had backed off Caspian after figuring out his gender, so the Mafia King had not even the slightest interest in the same gender.
But she wasn’t stupid, and she didn’t believe in luck and coincidences. There was a reason Nikolai let Angelo off even after he tried to kill the Mafia King, and it was probably the same reason he was going as far as to take care of Angelo while he was in heat.
Silvia’s expression was grim as she walked down the hallway, she wasn’t sure she wanted to know the reason, but it kept Angelo alive so she was grateful for it.
She opened the door and walked right in, Angelo already told her where she needed to go and she still had the call going. Although she had been too focused on getting in that she had momentarily forgotten about the phone tightly gripped in her hand.
"Angelo?" She spoke into the phone, hurrying down the hallway.
His response was a distant hum, but it was there and it didn’t sound distressed, she would take it. Silvia wasn’t upset that he had made a decision to stop being on hormone inhibitors, she wouldn’t have given them to him if she could help it.
But Angelo had been close to shattering when she first found him, hormone inhibitors had given him a new lease on life, but it wasn’t for free. Angelo hadn’t cared about the side effects she had painstakingly detailed out to him before giving him the inhibitors.
She knew he hadn’t been listening because it had been almost a decade and he still hadn’t known that going off them after being on them for so long would trigger a heat. Her smile was wry as she got to the door of the bedroom he was supposedly staying in, it was exactly like Angelo to not care about himself.
Immediately she opened the door, Nikolai was storming past her. The Mafia King’s expression was dark and there was a feral light in his usually cold blue eyes.
Silvia knew better than to stop him, snapping out of her reminiscing and hurrying into the bathroom.
Angelo was peacefully curled up in the bathtub, he had a cheek against his knees and it made his cheek look a little round. He had been in the water so long that his pale skin was starting to get a little wrinkly.
"Angelo," Silvia spoke softly so she wouldn’t startle him, tossing her phone to the side.
Angelo didn’t open his eyes, humming quietly, still thinking that she was speaking from the phone.
She knelt beside the bathtub and gently held his face, her hand trembling harder than she would have liked. "I’m here, how do you feel?"
Angelo lifted his head now, opening his eyes. His pupils were blown out making his eyes appear darker, a dazed look on his face. "It hurts."
"I know," Silvia’s lips turned down, reaching out to pull him out of the tub.
It wasn’t great that he had been in the tub for so long, but it was the best option in the circumstances. The water was surprisingly comfortably warm as she lifted him up, Angelo had no strength left in his limbs, but Silvia wasn’t weak.
She was also pretty much the same height as he was, maybe a fraction taller, and Angelo weighed little so she easily lifted him. He rested his wet hair against her shoulder, soaking through her clothes but she didn’t mind, placing him at the edge of the bed to get his dripping wet pants off.
Despite soaking for a good long while, his scent was still potent. It was nostalgic, she didn’t think she would get to smell his scent again, it made her chest ache.
Hormone inhibitors had their uses, despite the side effects, it meant that she was unaffected by his scent, even though it was thick enough that it was almost visible.
Silvia focused on drying him off so that he didn’t catch a cold, even though he was burning up so hot that the water was practically evaporating. She didn’t bother asking him any more questions now that she was here, she knew it had taken a lot of effort for Angelo to respond to her while they were on the phone, there was no reason to strain him further.
She took extra care drying his hair, there was no time to brush it. There was only one quick solution to fix his heat, and that was getting someone to service Angelo.
The thought of it made Silvia grimace but she had gotten a couple of these hormone inhibitor-induced heats before and they were shitty. Angelo’s pain tolerance was the only reason he wasn’t writhing and sobbing.
Being on hormone inhibitors for a long time fucked up the body, it hid your scent while you were on it but the moment it wore off, your scent would go back to normal. It wasn’t that simple with heats however.
It also inhibited heats, but the moment you got off them, you got hit with a heat so intense it felt like death. Other than that, however, you never got heats and could never have children. It was a rather steep price to pay.
