Chapter 141: Bai Yue’s Silent Plead

"Qin An?"

He came back to his senses when Shen Lou called his name again. Qin An focused on treating He Li’s back before he stood again to face Bai Ling and Bai Yue on the other hand.

Unlike earlier, the young man is now silent and was just lowering his head quietly as if his matter was over. It looks very suspicious considering how hard he screamed in pain earlier and struggled to fight against the ghost. But who was he in front of a grim reaper?

Qin An’s eyes remain cold and speak. "Leave that body, Bai Yue."

"..." The young man didn’t move at his words but he noticed his body went stiff.

"Bai Yue, don’t let me repeat it again." Qin An warned and only when the young man moved and slowly raised his head to them.

They were greeted by the familiar face of Bai Yue as his face was full of tears. The young man’s face was pale as if he was really frightened by what happened earlier.

Bai Yue looked at them with that aggrieved face. "I-I’m sorry but don’t understand what you are talking about?"

Seeing that familiar face, both He Li and Shen Lou didn’t understand what Qin An was talking about. Leave that body? What does that mean?

Qin An didn’t answer but his eyes were clear, that’s sending a warning to Bai Yue.

Bai Yue smiles hesitantly. "T-This Classmate, I really don’t understand. However, I also want to thank you about helping me—"

"Will this make your heart desire fulfill?"

The three were surprised by this question. It was a sudden question that’s clearly ot quite right in this situation which He Li and Shen Lou didn’t understand.

But Bai Yue got it.

The young man’s face stiffened for a bit. He didn’t answer but stared at Qin An for a few seconds before the corner of his eyes reddened again and he nodded.

"Y-Yes..."

"..." Now it was Qin An’s turn to be silent.

Will taking revenge really fulfill their wish?

Did Xiaopang tell the truth?

Did he really not consider the real desire that those souls wanted to fulfill because he didn’t agree? What was wrong in following the rules? What was wrong about him as a grim reaper?

Until now, Qin An still couldn’t understand.

Even if he became a human, he never understand the depth of their emotions and desire.

Why would they sacrifice something that they knew would do better for their future? Why do they keep on looking at the past when they have the chance to see a brighter future?

’Qin An, when you decided to accept this job again, what was inside your heart? Did you accept this with the thought of having no choice, or did you do it to help this world?’

He remembered Zhao Xiaopang’s words again.

At that time, why did he accept this offer?

Wasn’t it because he saw the resentment around the people around here? Was it intended to help them reduce the pollution that haunted them and give balance to this world again?

That was his intention, right?

Because he also didn’t want to see He Yan and others suffer longer from that pollution again.

He had seen their riots. He had seen and even experienced the pain they felt, was that the reason that drove him to accept this job again?

... Why did he forget again?

Why did he become a grim reaper again, it seems that he was going back to the way he was?

Or was this just his inevitable fate that the Judge talked about?

Qin An subconsciously clenched his fist and felt a heavy ton pressing his heart for which he didn’t understand again.

Why is he feeling this way?

He Li noticed the young man fell into a deep thinking again. This made his eyes narrowed. He didn’t see what happened earlier but judging from their conversation, there was another soul earlier.

And Shen Lou could see it? How?

Now, there is clearly another situation going on between him and Bai Yue.

He was warning Bai Yue to leave ’his’ own body? What does that mean? He Li had too many doubts but considering the situation, he didn’t speak.

The atmosphere went silent again after that conversation and only when the door was suddenly open that it broke.

Shen Lou had unknowingly let go of the door earlier and went closer so the people outside took that chance to get inside.

Chi Ling quickly went beside Bai Yue and asked worriedly. "Yueyue, are you okay?"

Bai Yue slightly stiff but smiles faintly. "I-It’s okay..."

Chi Ling turned his head towards Qin An and others to shoot glares at them.

"What did you do to Yueyue?! Did you hurt him?!"

Shen Lou frowned at his words. "Qin An was helping him."

Chi Ling sneered and looked at Qin An with disdain. "Helping him?! I highly doubt that someone like him can help Yueyue. Who is he, a doctor?! Someone who was even disabled, what can he do?!"

The crowd frowned at his words. What is Chi Ling even fussing about?

Xu Xinyi didn’t hold back her words as usual. "Chi Ling, can that stinky mouth of yours shut up? You don’t even understand the whole story but you’re starting to spat such nonsense!"

But that only made Chi Ling angrier. "Hah! Are you siding with this kid?! Look at what they even do! Bai Yue was hurt yet they didn’t do anything! Can’t you see that he was very pale and needed support?"

"Hurt?" Xu Xinyi looked at Bai Yue from head to toe. "He wasn’t even wounded, is your brain damage that your eyes are hallucinating?" She crossed her arms and looked at Chi Ling with mockery. "Oh well, a dog would always bark to protect its owner. No wonder."

"You!" Chi Ling’s face turned red and before he could say anything, a faint coercion splashed on him. His body stiffened especially when he saw it came from the Marshal.

"Shut up." He Li ordered so Chi Ling could only shut his mouth unwillingly and supported Bai Yue to stand up.

"I’ll assist him to the clinic." He could only stop his actions. Qian Jin immediately nodded and others also decided to follow, leaving He Li and his team, Shen Lou, He Yan and Qin An.

"Qin An, are you okay?" He Yan asked worriedly. Qin An just nodded at him and turned his head to He Li who was being checked by Cheng Yu.

"Marshal, I think you also need to go to the clinic. Your mental energy is not stable." Cheng Yu said.

"I’m fine." He Li didn’t care about the throbbing ache on his head and also turned his head sideways and met Qin An’s eyes.

"Let’s talk." He Li asked the young man instead, clearly expressing he’ll ignore Cheng Yu’s warning again about his condition.

Cheng Yu exhales frustrated sighs and pushes up his glasses. The Marshal is like this again!

"But Marshal, you need to—"

"I’ll handle it." Qin An interrupted Ji Wen.
