Beastmen Love-Chapter 189: Think and Act Differently

Astri is watching Bono’s fight. Freyd is trying with everything he can to tackle Bono, but Bono is steady, not losing his concentration for even a moment.

"My love?" Claud calls Astri.

"Yes, love?"

"I arrived at home. Kangki is with the others, fighting the Monsters, making sure none of them will be opening a portal to bring more Monsters. I’m also sure there are no worms, too." Claud tells her.

"Great. I can see them fighting from here. I can’t see the details. Are they using their powers?" Astri asks.

Then she sees a lightning strike a Monster tarbosaurus on the head.

"Yeah. They’re using their powers." She answers herself.

"They said they had to, because where they are, it’s far from where Bono’s army is." Claud says to her.

"There’s no problem. People would learn about us soon."

Astri keeps watching the duel in front of her, Ian and four more raptors are preventing other Freyd’s warriors from being on Bono’s way. However, as time passes, Ian is getting worried because he knows Bono will soon get tired and he’s not as strong as Freyd physically.

The tyrannosaurus glare at each other, heavy breathing, showing they’re both tired, but knowing that they’re still deadly. That’s when Bono sees his spear on the ground between them.

Bono has an idea, after looking at his spear, but to succeed, he will have only one chance.

He gathers all his courage and then runs forward. Freyd runs forward too with all force, but before they hit each other, Bono shifts back to his human form, taking Freyd by surprise. At first, Freyd was surprised, but he saw the opportunity to literally eat Bono.

Bono kept running, drifting on his leg to take the spear, and then he pushed his body up again to keep on running.

When Freyd bites, Bono jumps, dodging his mouth only, and then stabs the spear right between the head and neck. He holds himself on the spear to then shift back again.

When he’s back in his beast form, he was already biting Freyd’s neck, who widened his eyes, realizing his own position, but before he had time to fight back, Bono strongly twists Freyd’s head, breaking his neck.

Freyd’s body falls on the ground, limp and lifeless, but Bono wants to make sure Freyd wouldn’t have any chance of being alive. Bono steps on Freyd’s neck and bites his head, pulling his head until it’s severed from the body. He breathes tiredly at the dead body, looks around at the beastmen watching him in amazement.

Bono roars loudly, announcing Freyd’s death. Freyd’s army stopped fighting, and Bono’s army roared along with him. Astri jumps happily, cheering with everyone.

Astri flies to Bono. He sees her big white wings that he had never seen before.

"Do I have to tell you: I told you?" Astri asks.

Bono makes a sound, but Astri knows that it was a snort. Bono looks at Ian and the others. Ian nods, happy that Freyd is gone. Then they see Juno fighting Caris and Carist far away from them.

"Those two are taking their time to finish." Astri chuckles.

They see Astri’s spouses fighting the remaining Monsters that were trying to pass the tall grass area, but they’re impressed to see that no other dinosaurs are helping them. Bono orders his warriors to go help them. The big dinosaurs had to shift back to human form to pass the trench, but smaller ones could pass without shifting. Ian and his team arrived first, but they were impressed to see Astri’s spouses using their powers.

Wayde was fast, he was punching with his super strength, and then he would run fast to give another hit on the same dinosaur from another direction, not giving time for the enemy to fight back.

Dieg was running between the Monsters and freezing them on the ground, and Tyr was jumping on Monster after Monsters to electrocute them and make them fall on the ground so Koa could finish them with spears made of corals.

Zin could make the ground where the Monsters were stepping erode and, with their own weight, they lose their balance, then Beau, with his supersonic sonar, would throw them on the ground. Then Zin would finish them by creating spears made of earth to impale them on the ground.

Lee makes a strong wind hit the Monsters, making them fall to the ground, then Kangki would come flying and make several dark, long needles hit them and killing the Monsters easily. And Cyprian could also put the dinosaurs on fire too with Lee’s wind’s help.

Everyone was amazed watching them fight and finish the remaining Monsters. Astri was flying, watching her spouses, so proud of them working so well together. She looks at the tired Juno, trying to stay on his feet.

"Caris, Carist? Don’t play with your pray. It’s not nice." Astri says.

They sigh, sad that the fun is over, then shift to their two-headed dragon form, shocking those who have never seen their beast form. They easily finished Juno.

"You two could have finished him long ago! Now everyone saw our powers!" Lee says, angry with Caris and Carist.

Caris and Carist shift back and fly to face Lee.

"If we killed him before the Monsters would run away and could send the message that Astri is here, you stupid bird. I was buying you time to finish those pieces of crap!" Carist spits back.

Lee sighs, now understanding their plan.

"We took long because they’re big, but it wasn’t as hard as I was imagining." Wayde says.

"Yes. Now we have to clean this mess. Or else the tribe will smell like rotten in two days." Zin lazily says, looking around.

Bono looks at Astr,i and she knows he’s worried about his people finding out about them and her. She smiles, showing that everything is going to be fine.

The dinosaurs shifted back to human form, and Bono shifts back too.

"Who are they, Leader Bono? They’re not normal beastmen." A male asks.

"They are the Guardians of Nature. They came to help us." Bono answers.

"Guardians of Nature?"

"We were preventing Monsters from meddling in the battle. If they were fighting along with Freyd’s warriors, it would be almost impossible for you to survive." Cyprian says.

"Why didn’t you say you had these powers? We could have fought in a different way!"

"It wasn’t their fight!" Bono says, calling their attention. "It wasn’t only about defeating the King and Juno. They came here to show us the way our people would survive on their own. We needed to learn how to trust each other, learn to stop living the way we were, because that way raised a King so sick in his mind that a Monster King was on his side. Juno was a Monster in disguise, and because of that, it was always hard to get to Freyd. Even if we killed Freyd, Juno would keep on the power and would turn all of us in Monsters. If it weren’t for their help, to learn a better way to live a healthy and good life, we would be doomed. And if they didn’t hold the Monsters, all of us would probably be dead right now."

They silently heard their leader. In the beginning, they were angry to know that powerful creatures were with them all along and could have finished them easily. None of them needed to fight and risk their lives.

But after hearing Bono, they started to understand that everything is not as simple.

"We created King Freyd. The leader is the reflection of their people. All of us had the wrong idea that power is everything we needed, and that’s why he got so powerful and became King. We started to simply survive and lose the meaning of our lives. We stopped growing. We need to change this culture inside of us that only the powerful ones should live. That only the bigger ones are worthy. Ian was essential in this battle, and until some days ago, you wouldn’t even care about his existence, and you didn’t have entire hope that we could win." Bono says truth after truth to them, and they listen in silence, agreeing with everything that he’s saying. "We could defeat them. All of us together were strong enough to defeat them. It wasn’t only me or Ian, all of you were strong to protect our future!"

They smile proudly. Ian walks to Bono and holds his arm, showing the great respect he has for Bono.

"With you, my friend, we will keep strong. You proved to us that it is not only a matter of strength. You defeated someone 5 marks stronger than you, and now you have more marks." Ian says.

That’s when Bono looked at his arm, and he jumped from 18 marks to 21 marks. Bono smiles, proudly.

"If I can call someone King, a good King, it is you. You can count on me to be by your side always." Ian says.

The rest of the dinosaurs cheer, agreeing and announcing their new King. Bono smiles, grateful, then looks at who was smiling at him.

Astri’s spouses also understood the meaning of everything they have done when they saw the dinosaurs trusting Bono and announcing him King. If they simply killed Juno and Freyd, others like them would come to power again. Now, they can see how much the people have changed and are ready to build a prosperous Kingdom.
