Chapter 147: Chapter 147: The Vengeful Elf(Part 7)

"Stay sharp, everyone! He could show up any second now, so don’t let your guards down!" Instructed Jules, as she kept her eyes peeled.

"Yeah, we can’t afford a single slip-up here, the smallest mistake could prove fatal," Added Aster, his blades drawn as he glanced around warily.

Two days had passed since Leptar’s attack, it was currently around the same time at which he’d attacked last time, so everyone who was going to fight him had gathered in the same clearing that had been used for the exhibition matches.

All the Knights who had come to Sylph were present, along with the four remaining Grand Warriors. A number of the First Stage Warriors had been tasked with protecting the Elders, while the rest were guarding the civilians, who had been evacuated to the other settlements.

Tensions were high, the air thick and heavy as the group waited for Leptar to show up, a strong breeze blowing across as dark clouds gathered overhead, a low rumbling echoed out across the sky.

"Anything yet, Raven?" Inquired Aster warily.

"No, I’ve sharpened my senses to their absolute limit, but I’m not picking anything up so far-...hm? His scent! I just caught a whiff of it...but I can’t tell which direction it’s coming from!" Responded Raven, focusing on his sense of smell as his gaze darted about.

"Seems he’s here. He must be keeping his distance, looking for an opening to strike," Surmised Zesta, a cold mist flowing out around his body as he held his sword defensively.

"Come on, hurry up and show yourself...," Muttered Wielle anxiously, the breeze picking up as the leaves on the surrounding trees rustled loudly.

"Even if he’s out of my usual range, this breeze would carry his scent...the fact that I’m not picking it up means that he must be upwind!" Realized Raven, before swiftly turning his attention in the direction the wind was blowing towards, the others following suit.

Another rumble echoed out across the sky, before a rapid blur suddenly launched above the trees in the distance from the direction they were facing, everyone’s gaze lifting up as the blur zipped up into the air and came barreling towards them.

"Is that...a boulder?" Blurted out Celia in disbelief, the massive rock hurtling through the air with immense speed.

"Shit, everyone scatter, NOW!!!" Exclaimed Jules urgently, before she and the others swiftly dispersed as the boulder closed in on them, a deafening crash ringing out as it slammed onto the ground with a devastating impact, a powerful shockwave erupting out as a deep crater formed across the middle of the clearing.

A thick cloud of dust rose up as the entire area shook and rumbled violently, deep cracks spreading out across the ground.

"Is everyone alright-...?" Wistari began to call out.

"Above us, look out!" Suddenly yelled Raven, the others quickly turning their gazes up, just in time to see Leptar plummeting down towards him.

A loud crash rang out as his feet slammed onto the ground, landing right behind Arren, the force of his landing knocking the Knight off balance before Leptar swiftly reached out and grabbed the back of Arren’s neck.

Arren stiffened in alarm and quickly began to activate a Teleportation Spell, but he was too slow to react, a loud crunch ringing out as Leptar snapped his neck with a sharp twist of his wrist.

Arren’s shoulders slumped as he collapsed onto his knees, spasming slightly as he fell over and hit the ground with a thud, before going limp.

"No...," Uttered Jules in dismay, as Leptar let out a chuckle.

He had a large stone sword, an axe and a spear tied to his back with a vine, before he drew out the spear and spun it around as he cracked his neck with a murderous gleam in his eyes.

"Nice, I managed to take out of your Teleporters. They can be a pain to deal with, after all," He smirked tauntingly, meeting Jules’s gaze as he lifted his foot up and drove it down with a grunt of effort, stomping down on Arren’s head with immense force and crushing his skull, an intense shockwave erupting out upon impact as he smashed Arren’s head flat, blood and bits of skull fragments and brain chunks flying out as cracks spread out across the ground.

"You bastard," Remarked Aster with a dark glare, doing his best to keep his composure, as Jules did the same, gritting her teeth as she trembled in anger.

"Damn it, what do I do!? Should I summon the Resurrection Baton? No, I doubt he’ll just stand back and let me use it. Worst case scenario, he’ll take it from me and break it...the only option is to defeat him within five minutes. But...is that even possible?"

"Oh, calm down, you’ve still got another one, don’t you? No need to be greedy, one’s plenty. Teleporters are so annoying, they just ruin the fun, so I thought I’d make things more straightforward by killing one of them," He laughed, before turning his gaze across as a massive wave of ice spikes came barreling towards him, rising up with immense speed as the temperature in the area dropped sharply.

Leptar scoffed before gripping the middle of his spear and arching back his arm, a couple of cracks spreading out across the handle of the spear as he strained his muscles, before launching the spear forward with all his strength.

The spear shot through the air like a rocket, shattering the ice spikes in the blink of an eye and shooting towards Zesta with immense speed as it broke through the ice in a matter of seconds.

Zesta shuffled across to his left as fast as he could while raising his sword up defensively, his eyes widening in alarm as the blade of his sword shattering to pieces as he tried to deflect the spear, only slightly deflecting the trajectory of the spear, which struck his right side just below his ribcage and burst through, an agonized gasp of pain ringing out as blood gushed out and streamed down the right side of his torso.

He stumbled back shakily as he coughed out blood, lifting his gaze as Leptar began to take a step towards him, before swiftly springing back as blasts of flames, telekinesis, blood, lightning and explosive energy came shooting towards him, a chain of deafening crashes echoing out as he evaded the attacks, while Hart swiftly teleported Raven to Zesta.

"Hold on, I’ll heal you up right away," Remarked Raven, placing his hand on Zesta’s shoulder, who winced slightly upon contact, before letting out a quiet sigh of relief as Raven rapidly healed his injury.

"Thank you, I-...," Zesta began gratefully, before he was cut off as Raven quickly pushed him away while springing back in the opposite direction, right as a large rock barreled through the space in between them, before slamming onto the side of a tree and bursting through, drilling a hole through the middle of the trunk.

As the others launched more attacks at him, Leptar slammed his palms together to blow away the attacks as they closed in on him, before stomping down on the ground to trigger another shockwave, knocking the others off-balance as the entire area rumbling upon impact, before he drew out the axe and zipped around with immense speed.

He shot towards Tilda, who narrowly ducked as he closed in on her and swung the axe towards her head, before she whipped her scythe across at him as she just barely evaded the swing of his axe, a powerful gust of wind erupting above her head as the blade of her scythe closed in on the right side of his chest.

In the blink of an eye, he pulled back his axe and raised it up defensively, before a look of surprise appeared on his face as the scythe phased past the handle of his axe and across his chest, his vision blurring slightly as the scythe drained some of his stamina.

Tilda began to spring back, before stiffened as his knee came shooting up towards her with immense force, managing to get the handle of her scythe up defensively in time, before a sharp clang rang out as his knee slammed onto the middle of the handle with immense force.

She gasped sharply in pain as the impact shattered the bones in her forearms, the force of his knee strike shooting past the handle of her scythe and slamming onto the middle of her torso, her vision blurring sharply as let out an agonized wheeze as she found herself launched high up into the air, struggling to maintain consciousness as streaks of blood poured out of her mouth and splattered across the ground.

As she began to plummet, he raised his axe and took aim, before turning his gaze across to the right as a rapid bolt of lightning came shooting in towards him, whipping his axe across as it closed in on him, canceling it out as the axe sliced through the bolt.

He then glanced down as Wistari zipped in towards him while staying low, before springing up with immense speed as she closed in on his and slashed at his head with her twin blades, lightning crackling intensely around them.

He swiftly turned his body across and leaned back, one of her blades managing to graze his right cheek, before he grabbed her left forearm, eliciting a sharp scream of pain from his as he snapped the bones in her arm like twigs, before flinging her away towards Wein Beryl as several, various blasts came shooting towards him.

Wein’s eyes widened in alarm before he quickly caught Wistari as she got within his reach, stumbling back before tossing her away as he spotted Leptar charging in towards him with immense speed, a barrage of attacks peppering the ground behind him as the others struggled to keep up with his speed, clouds of dust rising up in his wake.

He leapt forward with immense force as he closed in on Wein, drawing back his fist and driving it forward rapidly and powerfully, before grimacing slightly as Wein pointed his staff straight towards Leptar and extended out it rapidly, the end of the staff slamming onto the middle of Leptar’s torso and slowing him down, right as Raven locked on and fired his beams out towards Leptar’s fist.

The beams struck the side of the Elf’s wrist and slowed down the momentum of his strike, before his fist slammed onto the middle of Wein’s face with a crushing impact, breaking his nose and several teeth, the force of the strike knocking Wein out almost instantly before he got sent flying back rapidly, spinning through the air before skidding several meters across the ground and slamming onto the side of a tree, before slumping against the ground.

Leptar’s gaze then darted about as the others surrounded him and began to charge up, swiftly glancing up as Hart teleported Raven straight above him, an intense ball of flames swirling within Raven’s jaws.

He swiftly picked up a rock and flung it up with a sharp flick of his wrist, Raven’s flames fading as he quickly swung his arm across and tried to deflect the rock with the back of his fist, but there was too much force behind the rock, a slight hiss of pain ringing out as trickles of blood ran down the back of Raven’s fist, before the rock struck the top of his shoulder, ricocheting off and striking the side of Hart’s head.

A dazed groan rang out as Hart lost consciousness, blood streaming down the side of his head before a loud crash rang out as Leptar bent his knees and sprang straight up as the others launched attacks towards him from several directions.

As the attacks converged around the spot where he’d been standing, several crashes echoed out as Raven grabbed hold of Hart and flew away as fast as he could while firing out an intense wave of flames at him from his mouth, the others following his lead and firing their attacks up at Leptar.

Suddenly, he swung his feet back through the air, generating immense force and launching himself towards the trees, disappearing into the forest as a loud rustling rang out, Raven grimacing before swooping down while healing Hart as Leptar concealed his presence.

"Damn it, that was only about half a minute, and he did so much damage in such a short amount of time," Remarked Wistari with a grimace, as everyone regrouped and kept an eye in the direction he’d disappeared in.

"He used that boulder to scatter us, then attacked before we could regroup. And with how fast he zips around, we don’t have time to properly coordinate our attacks. He’s definitely fighting a lot more seriously this time, he didn’t move this quickly and decisively before," Responded Jules, a look of frustration on her face as Raven healed the injured.

"Looks like Tilda, Hart and Wein will be fine, but I don’t know how long it’ll take for them to regain consciousness," He remarked, as he healed Wistari’s broken arms.

"Thank you. Are you able to to track him right now? Where is he?" She inquired with a frown.

"He must be upwind again, I can’t pick out his scent. There could be another boulder or something incoming, so we should-...," Began Raven, before trailing off as a loud creaking and cracking sound echoed out in the distance.

"Uh, I don’t think I like the sound of that," Muttered Celia warily.

"Holy shit," Blurted out Colt, his eyes widening as several uprooted trees then came flying out towards them, shooting through the air and plummeting down like arrows...
