Chapter 118: Chapter 118: Assault on Exalt(Part 3)

"This really is a shame...what a pointless endeavor you’ve chosen to dedicate yourselves to. You’ve cut down so many innocent lives, and for what? Just to throw your own lives away," Remarked Fyre, with a grimace, as he evaded the swing of an axe.

"Shut up, you damned hypocrite! I know you have a grudge against those Irregulars too, and instead of exacting justice to avenge your fellow Noble and subordinate, you chose to accept those damned Commoners! For that, I’ll kill you!" Exclaimed his opponent, as he raised his axe up high.

"That’s not going to be possible. You have zero mastery over your Magic, and your proficiency with that axe is below amateur level. Thinking you can defeat me is nothing short of delusional," Responded Fyre, as he swiftly sidestepped to evade as the man swung the axe down towards him, before swiftly driving his spear forward, piercing through the left side of his opponent’s chest, eliciting a sharp gasp of pain from him.

"Y-you...bastard...," Growled the man as he shakily reached up and grabbed the handle of the spear, before Fyre channeled his Mana through the weapon, flames bursting out around the blade that was lodged in his opponent’s heart and roasting it.

Fyre pulled the spear back out and swung it across as the man collapsed onto the ground, streaks of smoke flowing out of the stab wound over his heart.

He then glanced off to his right as a terrified yell rang out, to see Siele closing in on one of the few remaining members of Exalt and swinging one of his blades across, slicing through the enemy’s neck and decapitating them.

"Looks like we can wrap this up soon, there’s only about a couple dozen or so of them left, and it’s barely even been five minutes since we attacked them," Fyre thought to himself as he surveyed his surroundings, before narrowing his eyes as he spotted a certain figure fleeing the battle and exclaimed, "Commander! He’s trying to get away!"

Jules glanced towards Fyre, before turning her gaze to the direction he was looking towards, a grimace appearing across her face as she spotted Reiss racing away.

"Oh, no, you don’t, you’re not getting away that easily, not after everything you’ve done!" She snapped as she rapidly chased after him, charging and compressing flames behind her heels as she shot towards him at top speed.

She then blasted out the charged up flames, launching herself towards him with immense speed, before flames swirled and wrapped around her blade as she closed in on him.

He came to an abrupt halt and spun around as she closed in on him, desperately raising a wall of earth between them as she swung her sword down towards him, the blade hitting the top of the wall and slicing down along it, before she swiftly pulled it back and fired out a burst of flames, blasting the earth wall to pieces as Reiss stumbled back, before gritting his teeth and extending out several earth spikes towards Jules.

She quickly sprang back and whipped her sword across, slicing through the spikes before they could reach her, before swiftly drawing back her blade, charging flames into it and unleashing a powerful thrust of her arm, firing out a concentrated burst of flames from the tip of the blade.

Reiss formed a thick block of earth in front of himself as fast as possible, which just barely absorbed the force of the attack, before he leapt off to his right as Jules shot forward and drove her sword towards him, narrowly avoiding it before raising his hand towards her and firing out a shard of earth, which she swiftly deflected with her blade.

"His Spellcasting is surprisingly high level, he’s casting some fairly strong Spells without chanting, I wasn’t aware that he was capable of this. But it looks like hasn’t adopted any Combat Template, he has decent instincts, but his movements are pretty clumsy," Mused Jules, before quickly closing her eyes as Reiss fired out a blast of dust towards her and began to run away again, before his eyes widened and he came to a stop as he spotted two figures behind him.

"And just where do you think you’re going in such a hurry, dear uncle?" Inquired Siele icily.

"Yeah, there’s no rush to leave, we’re just getting started with you," Added Rione, as lightning crackled around his hammer.

"Damn it...," Muttered Reiss as he looked around, to see all the other members of Exalt having been cut down.

"You brought this on yourself, uncle...we’re going to make you pay for going after our sister, the Queen," Stated Jules with a dark look in her eyes.

"Not to mention for hurting our other sister, the Commander here, you aren’t going to get away with that," Remarked Siele venomously.

With the rest of Exalt wiped out, the other Knights regrouped and turned their attention to what was going to be the final battle of this conflict, the three Royal siblings surrounding their uncle with clear murderous intent in their expressions.

"Hey, think we should get over there too? That guy is technically our uncle too, so maybe we should get involved," Suggested Ravella uncertainly.

"Nah, I think we should stay out of it. We’ve never even met him before, after all. And it’d be pretty embarrassing if we jump in there when we’re not supposed to...plus, us entering the fray would be way overkill, those three are more than strong enough to handle this on their own," Pointed out Raven with a shrug.

"D-damn you, I...I was so close! The throne was mine for the taking, it was right within my grasp...how dare you screw that up for me!?" Snapped Reiss furiously, before several earth spikes burst out around him, extending towards the trio surrounding him.

They swiftly backed away to evade the spikes, before Rione fired out a rapid bolt of lightning from his hammer, which shot past the spikes and grazed Reiss’s shoulder, his body sharply stiffening up before he gritted his teeth and broke the spikes apart into dozens of shards.

He then sent them shooting out all around him, Rione swiftly spinning his hammer around in front of himself to deflect the ones coming towards him, as Jules fired out a fierce blast of flames from her blade to blow the projectiles away, while Siele formed a swirling pillar of water in front of himself to block out the ones shooting towards him.

Reiss then quickly formed a wide wall of earth in front of himself as Jules unleashed a devastating, blazing wave of flames from her mouth, which roared forward and slammed against the earth wall, the air around it shimmering violently, before Reiss’s eyes widened in alarm as a rapid bolt of lightning came shooting towards him.

He sprang back in alarm, a sharp cry of pain ringing out as the bolt grazed the front of his chest, burning through the fabric over that spot and charring his skin, his body stiffening up from the electrocution.

Siele swiftly came charging in towards him, leaping forward as he closed in and whipped one of his blades across towards him.

Reiss desperately tried to move out of the way, but with his body unable to move freely, he lost his balance and fell back with a yelp, before wincing sharply as Siele’s blade inflicting a deep gash across his right bicep, his arm slumping to his side as his back hit the ground with a thud, blood streaming out of the cut across his arm.

Siele began to swing one of his blades down, before quickly springing back as Reiss reacted desperately and lifted the ground below him, extending out a towering pillar of earth to raise himself up and out of Siele’s reach.

Rione swiftly shot forward as the pillar rose up, before he sprang towards it as he closed in and swung his hammer across with a grunt of exertion, crackling sparks of lightning erupting out of the head of his hammer as he slammed it against the side of the pillar, deep cracks spreading out upon impact as his hammer collided against it with immense force, the pillar breaking across that spot and starting to fall over.

Reiss quickly scrambled back onto his feet and leapt off the falling pillar as it began to close in on the ground, a deafening crash ringing out as it slammed onto the ground with a devastating impact and broke apart to pieces, a thick cloud of dust rising up around it as the surrounding area shook and rumbled.

His eyes then widened in alarm before he frantically sprang off to his left as he spotted a fiery glow rapidly barreling towards him through the dust cloud, before he screamed in agony as a flaming blade came plunging through the dust and pierced into the right side of his chest, bursting out his back as the flames seared his flesh agonizingly, a sickening sizzle ringing out as a violent shudder of pain erupted across his body.

"It’s over. Your treacherous coup dies with you, uncle," Stated Jules icily, as she yanked her blade back out and swung it across.

"N-no, I...I can’t die here! I-I refuse to die here...i-it wasn’t supposed to go like this, damn it!" He exclaimed in anguish, as he shakily stumbled back...
