Chapter 74: If You Loose, You give Him Up!

A heavy silence follows Rehan’s words, thick with tension and unspoken doubt.

Kieran feels it like a blade at his back_ his pack wavers, shifting uneasily, their loyalty shaken.

Rehan sees it too.

He smirks, taking another deliberate step forward, his golden eyes gleaming with quiet triumph. "Face it, Kieran," he says smoothly. "Your people are questioning you. And who can blame them? You led them into war for a lie. You paraded a fraud as your mate. You rejected the bond given by the Moon Goddess herself. Tell me, why should they still trust you?"

A few wolves murmur among themselves. The doubt is creeping in, infecting them.

Kieran grits his teeth.

He cannot let this stand.

He straightens, his voice calm but laced with steel. "You talk like an outsider looking in, Rehan, but we both know you’ve been waiting for a moment like this. Hoping for it. I see what you’re doing_ manipulating a situation you had no part in creating just to turn it in your favor."

Rehan chuckles, feigning innocence. "Manipulating? I’m only speaking the truth." He turns to the crown... "Am I not speaking the truth? Am I manipulating you?" He asks.

"No, what you say is true." Some say , some stay quiet.

Rehan is the second rank in the rank if Alphas, but he has never been contented with that position, he has always wanted to overtake Kieran.

And for Ace_ he genuinely want him, both for love, and the power he holds, if Ace become a member of his pack, then nothing else will make him search for more.

"The truth?" Kieran scoffs. "The truth is that you’ve never cared about these packs. All you wanted is to be recognized as the first rank! You’ve only ever wanted what I have. And now, instead of challenging me outright, you’d rather poison their minds first." He lets his gaze sweep over the gathered wolves, his voice ringing clear. "Don’t be fooled. He doesn’t care about your doubts, your anger. He only cares about one thing_ taking what is mine."

Rehan’s smirk twitches at the edges, but he holds his composure. "Strong words, Kieran. But let’s not forget, you’ve already proven you can’t be trusted. You lied to them for years."

Kieran steps forward, closing the space between them, his presence commanding. "And you think that makes you a better option? You think they’ll just hand over their trust to you because you’re pointing fingers?" His voice drops lower, steady, dangerous. "You don’t deserve them, Rehan. And you will never have them. Not when am still alive, unless you kill me first!"

The pack watches, tension crackling in the air.

Rehan studies Kieran for a moment, as if weighing his next move. Then, he chuckles under his breath. "We’ll see about that."

But Kieran doesn’t give him the last word. He turns back to his pack, meeting their eyes, reclaiming their focus. "I’ve made mistakes," he says, his voice steady, unwavering. "I’ve been wrong before. But I’ve never abandoned this pack. I’ve never stopped protecting it. And I sure as hell won’t stop now."

A beat of silence. Then, a few nods. Uncertainty lingers, but the outright rebellion Rehan hoped for doesn’t come.

But obviously others rebel, so it’s like there are two sides, others standing with Kieran, others siding with Rehan.

The crowd is dividing even more as Rehan keeps instilling his manipulation.

Some still stand firm with Kieran, their loyalty unshaken despite the revelations, while others start to move to Rehan.

There is movements here and there.

Others murmur in agreement with Rehan, their trust in Kieran fractured but they don’t move to either side.

Whispers ripple through the gathered wolves more.

Rehan watches it all unfold with quiet satisfaction before tilting his head toward Kieran. "It seems your pack isn’t as united as you’d like to believe," he muses, his voice low, only Kieran could hear.

Then his voice carry through the clearing. "Some still trust you. Others are questioning whether you’re fit to lead." He pauses, then shrugs. "There’s only one way to settle this."

The tension spikes.

Kieran already knows what’s coming before Rehan even says it.

"A formal Alpha duel."

A hush falls over the pack.

Wolves glance at one another, their instincts immediately recognizing the weight of those words. freeweɓnovel.cѳm

A challenge.

A fight for dominance, for leadership.

The old, unshakable law of their kind

_when words fail, strength decides.

Kieran’s jaw tightens.

He steps forward, eyes burning into Rehan’s. "Wow, your determination impresses me, you really want this, don’t you? And why exactly would you suggest something of the sort, you know I’ve always beated you in strength." Their voice become low and muffled.

"I know that, Kieran, but today you are bound to loose, you know why? Because right now... you are weak, you have no mate... in fact , he just rejected you infront of everyone_ shame kieran_ shame! I don’t have a mate too, but my situation is understandable. So why don’t you just give up before you face more shame?!" Rehan says, really amused.

"Mine? You will never have, so stop dreaming, the earlier, the better for you too!" Kieran retorts.

Rehan’s smirk is sharp. "What’s yours? You mean the pack? Or are you still talking about Ace?"

A growl rumbles from Kieran’s chest. "Careful."

Rehan chuckles, unfazed. "What’s wrong, Kieran? You were willing to fight Ace’s battles for him before. Why hesitate now? Or are you afraid you won’t win?"

The wolves around them react_ some murmuring, others nodding. Rehan is provoking him, twisting the knife.

But Kieran can see it, the flickering uncertainty in his pack. If he refuses the challenge now, it will only solidify their doubts.

His hands clench into fists. He doesn’t have a choice.

"Fine," Kieran growls. "You want a challenge? You’ve got one."

A ripple of excitement courses through the crowd. This isn’t just about leadership anymore_ it’s about proving who truly deserves to stand at the top.

"One more thing, if I win, you let go of everything, including Ace! You don’t deserve him anyway!" Rehan adds , pushing Kieran to the edge.

"Don’t you dare bring him into this!" Kieran growls.

"Why? You afraid you will loose? Ha! Prove to him that you are worth it! If not, am going to do it! After all, he is one of the reason I suggested this, am doing this for him, so that he sees that am worth him.

Kieran nodes grimly. "Fine, then let’s not waste any time. We settle this at dawn."

The crowd erupts in noise, some cheering, others arguing. The decision is made. The fight is set.

And Kieran knows_ no matter what, he cannot afford to lose, not with Ace in the middle.
