Alpha's mate is a male?!?-Chapter 50: Can’t Stand You Anymore.
Chapter 50: Can’t Stand You Anymore.
"You are right, Lila was never my mate from the beginning, but she made me believe she was. Her dark magic was far more dangerous than you could ever imagine. She used it on me, and as your Alpha, I am ashamed to admit that it worked on me." Kieran says, the listening to him curiously. freeweɓnovel.cøm
And the pack readily believes him because they’ve all been under Lila’s influence before, and they know how powerful and fearsome her magic is.
Kieran goes quiet for a moment, and when his eyes land on Ace, he quickly turns away before saying, "And about Ace, there’s no bond between us. Xiao Jun might have said that because we crossed paths a little. But even so, Xiao Jun will always be important to this pack because he stood with us in our hardest times."
Kieran lies without even a hint of guilt showing on his face.
’It’s a must I tell the truth someday,’ he thinks. ’That Lila didn’t manipulate me with her dark magic into believing she was my Luna.’
But for now, he can’t risk fighting with his pack. That would only give Lila an advantage. He is determined to end her once and for all before dealing with the lies he’s told the pack.
Meanwhile, Ace is still reeling from the shock of Kieran’s words about them.
’Yes, there’s no bond between us anymore, but what we just did an hour ago—doesn’t it mean anything at all to him?!’ Ace’s mind spirals.
Realization hits him like a physical blow.
He let his desperation and desires control him.
He had promised himself to stay away from Kieran no matter how much it hurt, but today... he just made the mistake of his life.
He had desperately poured his heart out to Kieran, his confession flowing like water in a river.
His emotions spiral further.
’But why did he do it with me?! He must have pitied me. I must have looked so pathetic, so needy that even someone as heartless as Kieran pitied me!’ Ace curses himself for being so weak in front of Kieran.
His emotions are now more chaotic than ever, especially when he remembers that Xiao Jun caught them red-handed.
"Oh God," he murmurs, his vision blurring.
As Ace is lost in thought, a guard approaches him with a letter.
"It was delivered for you, Noble Ace."
Ever since Ace worked with Kieran to help save the pack, they have been calling him "Noble Ace," acknowledging that he isn’t just an ordinary person despite his age or physical appearance.
Ace takes the letter and sees it’s from Marsel. He nods to the guard, who bows and leaves.

"So does that mean you still don’t have a mate?!" an elder asks Kieran.
"For now, I don’t have one," Kieran replies. "The Moon Goddess has given me the privilege of choosing any woman I want as my mate. I must present her to the Moon Goddess during the next mating season, and she will solidify the bond between us."
The moon goddess never emphasized that it should be a woman__
Kieran feels a pang of guilt for some reason but doesn’t let it linger. He refuses to think too deeply about what Ace might be feeling after his confession some hours ago.
The pack exchanges murmurs, surprised at how blessed their Alpha is. The Moon Goddess must truly favor him. After all, Kieran has always been their steadfast leader.
"Alpha! Alpha..."
A guard runs into the crowd, his face pale. He falls to his knees when he reaches Kieran.
"What is it?!" Kieran asks.
"Justine and Leo are gone! Someone cut the lock from outside and set them free!" the guard says breathlessly.
Fear grips the wolves.
’Is Lila around?!’ they wonder.
"Where were you when this was happening?!" Kieran roars.
"We... we couldn’t help but join the others for your speech, Alpha. Pl..." the guard stammers, but Kieran cuts him off.
"Unless you’re given a task, don’t leave your post!
I want everyone to stay here—no one leaves! All trained guards guarding the mansion from every angle.
Dren!"
Dren appears instantly.
"Pick the betas you trust most and have them search everywhere. Keep the borders under strict surveillance," Kieran orders.
Dren nods, bows, and rushes off.
’If Lila is back here, she should know this is her end!’ Kieran thinks before turning to Ace, who is deep in thought.

"I don’t think she came here herself. There must be someone else in the pack helping her," Ace says as Kieran nears him.
Ace has decided to push everything behind him, no matter how much it pains him. He swears never again to engage with Kieran romantically and promises himself not to dwell on the mistake he made by being so vulnerable.
There are more important matters to focus on than his unrequited feelings. He won’t even ask Kieran what their shared moment meant.
"I don’t understand. How does she keep managing to do this?!" Kieran mutters, more to himself.
"If we don’t find her soon, trust me_ everything is going to collapse again," Ace adds.
"Why don’t you use your powers? You found her the last time you used them. You’ve seen how tricky she is, we can’t find her just like this!" Kieran says.
The tension between them is buried deep as they try to focus on the current crisis.
Ace knows he hasn’t been able to use his powers because his emotions have been all over the place lately.
He’s tried, but it hasn’t worked. Now, with his emotions even worse, he knows for sure they won’t work.
"You have a connection to those two wolves. You’re their Alpha. You can find them if you try," Ace suggests.
"We don’t have time to start guessing here and there, Ace. Why don’t you use your powers to track them?" Kieran insists.
"I’ll try. You should try too. I’ll inform you if I manage to track them," Ace says before walking away.
He needs Marsel to help him activate his powers again and to guide him on controlling his emotions.
"Where are you going? You can’t just roam around recklessly right now! What if she finds you?! You know you’re one of her main targets. Stop being so reckless! If you need to go somewhere, I can accompany you," Kieran says, his voice rising when he realizes Ace isn’t listening.
"Accompany me?! Ha! Honestly, I can’t stand you anymore, Kieran. I can’t wait for all of this to end so I can go far away from you—really far away! So what makes you think I’d want you to accompany me anywhere?! Do what you have to do, and I’ll do what I have to do. I’ll inform you if I find anything out!" Ace snaps before storming away.
He wonders why Kieran would even want to accompany him in the first place.
’So he can make me feel even more disgusting?’
