Chapter 48: Out Of Control.

When Ace gets at the prison, there are guards at the door. "Open up," he commands.

They open immediately, their movements tense as they obey. He storms in, only to find the two lost in each other’s arms, kissing as though nothing else matters outside the room.

Ace stands there, staring at them, his eyes blazing with fury, and the mark on his chest faintly glowing.

When they notice him, they stand up immediately.

"Where is she?" he demands, his voice cold and sharp.

They remain quiet, as though measuring the air, hesitant to speak.

"Didn’t you hear me?! I asked you! Where the hell is she?!" Ace thunders again, his voice making them flinch this time.

The mark on his chest starts glowing even brighter as he steps closer to them, his anger escalating.

The two wolves struggle to maintain their composure, but they fail entirely when Kieran walks in.

For a moment hatred flashes across their faces when they see him, and everything Lila told them echoes freshly in their minds.

-

~He cursed you and sent you away for something you couldn’t control! The Moon Goddess is the one who mated you, so what right did he have to curse and shame you like that?!

He made you feel guilty for something that wasn’t your fault! And guess what? He sent you away because you’re two male mates, but do you know who his mate is? His mate is a man too!

You’d be fools to sit quietly and respect him while he has no dignity himself! He is not an honest Alpha and doesn’t even deserve his position!

He lured me into his sin, forcing me to lie to the pack—and to all the packs—that I was his mate because he was too ashamed to announce his male mate!

And do you know what he did to me after using me? He sent me away, cursing me just as he did to you!

Listen carefully. You two can save your pack from that pretentious Alpha and his mate!~

~But alpha Kieran wasn’t this kind of a person since I knew him~ Leo had argued, his voice hesitant.

His mate, Justine, nodded in agreement.

"No one sent us away, we left on our own because Lunar Crest pack is the perfect pack that we never wanted to dent it, and since Alpha didn’t want this kind of thing, we decided to leave~ Justine had added.

.

~And that’s where you went wrong! Lunar Crest is your pack, and Kieran is your Alpha. He is supposed to protect you, not treat you like trash! I was there, and I heard him say that he would have sent you away if you hadn’t left. Haven’t you seen what’s been happening in the pack? Chaos after chaos! He cursed the pack members, turning them into zombies. He wants all the wolves to worship him! He wants to mimic the Moon Goddess!

You can help save the other members of the pack. Who knows? The Moon Goddess might even reward you two. She could make you the Alpha and your mate the Luna. You can expose his secret!

He made you wander without a pack, without an Alpha—and as you know, a wolf without a pack and an Alpha is nothing. You’ll only grow weaker and eventually die. You’ve suffered because of him.~

Bit by bit, her words began to seep into their minds, twisting their doubts into convictions.

~But how can we do that?!~ Leo had asked.

Lila had rejoiced inside when she realized those two were falling for it.

_After she was defeated, she had tried everything that she could but the anchor didn’t work again.

She realized__ When Ace’s powers destroy that’s the end of it , there’s no redemption. Just like the witch was burnt to ashes showing that his powers don’t leave behind second chances.

So she didn’t have any more hope about her dark witch magics, she decided to find another way__ searched for Justine and Leo day and night, she knew their story.

°

~Since he used me and threw me away, I will be glad to join you in teaching him a lesson. I’ll help you save the others. First, I need you to expose his secrete , or rather start causing chaos in the pack again, let people question his leadership , let them end up thinking he is not worthy that position. I want you to go back.~ Lila had said, scheming again.

~But how can we go back if he doesn’t want us back?~ Justine had asked.

~Go convince him that you’ve decided to part ways and that you’ll no longer be mates. Tell him you’ve realized your mistakes and that you apologize. Make him see you’re desperate to return to the pack and live under his care as your Alpha.

And there’s something else—I need you to find someone called Xiao Jun. He’s a human helping them. He’s just a distraction, so don’t hesitate to end his stupid life!~

_

That’s when Justine and Leo decided to return to the Lunar Crest Pack.

They told Kieran exactly what Lila had instructed them to say. However, Kieran didn’t dwell on the part about them no longer being mates.

He simply told them to do as they wished because he now understood that the Moon Goddess could mate males with males—and perhaps even females with females.

He didn’t care anymore.

Deep down, Kieran knew those two wouldn’t stay apart if the mate bond between them was real.

He had experienced the same pull with Ace, unable to resist it no matter how hard he tried. He figured they would eventually find a way to be together, even if they hid it.

-

Present:

"Ace, stop! What is your problem?! You’re not helping right now. If you’re having a problem and throwing your frustrations everywhere, go figure it out and come back when you’re ready! We can’t deal with anything if your emotions are all over the place!" Kieran yells when Ace almost breaks the bones of the two wolves, furious that they refuse to answer his questions.

Ace’s extraordinary strength, amplified by his powers, allows him to hold the two wolves mid-air, ready to crash them on the wall at any moment.

Even after Kieran’s warning, Ace doesn’t let go. "Answer my question right now, or you won’t believe what I’ll do to you! Where is she?!" he yells.

"We don’t know where she is," Justine stammers, his breath short and heavy. He’s more worried about Leo, who looks worse than he does.

"You work for her, don’t you?!" Ace demands.

"Y-yes," Justine admits reluctantly.

"Then you must know where she is! Don’t lie to me!"

"No, we don’t know where she is," Leo says, his voice trembling. "She finds us. We don’t find her."

"How do you meet her?! There must be some way you communicate with her!"

"We haven’t communicated with her since we came back," Justine says. "She said she’d find us."

Ace can tell they’re telling the truth, which only angers him more. He lets them fall to the ground, his emotions spiraling out of control.

Ruffling his hair in frustration, he feels overwhelmed. Ace can’t contain his emotions anymore, since the day before_ the incident with Jun has destroyed his emotions, and thinking that the person he loves doesn’t want him, and he is the reason why he has lost Xiao Jun_ the only person who has ever cared for him, it’s killing him.

He punches the wall, cracking it with the force of his blow.

"Ace, stop! What is happening to you?" Kieran says, stepping forward. He tries to place a hand on Ace’s shoulder, but Ace shrugs it off , storming out of the room.

Kieran exhales sharply and follows him, but not before turning to the guards at the door. "Make sure those two stay in here. They don’t leave, understood?"

The guards nod as Kieran hurries after Ace.
