Alpha's mate is a male?!?-Chapter 47: Chaotic Emotions.
Chapter 47: Chaotic Emotions.
Ace has no idea what to do anymore. He leans against the car, stands still, paces back and forth, but nothing seems to calm him down.
After a while, he forces his fragile legs back into Xiao Jun’s car.
Slowly, he drives to Xiao Jun’s house. Xiao Jun had moved back with his father, unable to ignore the man’s plea to keep him company.
After Xiao Jun’s mother died, Jun and his father had been on their own.
Actually, Jun is a half-caste; his mother was American. After her death, Jun never got close to anyone, choosing instead to stay away from his friends.
But then, he met Ace, who made him realize that losing a parent doesn’t mean it’s the end of the world.
Ace showed him that even in grief, one can still find moments of happiness, no matter how hard it is.
-
Ace grips the steering wheel, his trembling hands struggling to hold steady. Tears won’t stop streaming down his face, blurring his vision as he drives in silence.
Every word, every moment of their fight replays in his head like a broken record, each repetition more painful than the last.
All because of someone who thinks of him as disgusting—someone he loves but who doesn’t love him back__ Kieran.
When he finally pulls into the driveway, his heart sinks further at the sight of Jun’s father standing by the door, his expression unreadable.
"Mr. Wang?" Ace stammers, his voice cracking.
"Where is Jun?" Mr. Wang asks.
"He, uh... he said he..." Ace falters, unsure of what to say.
"Ace," Mr. Wang begins, his tone low and controlled, though the anger beneath it is unmistakable. "I’ve been patient with you, but tonight is the last straw."
Ace swallows hard, the lump in his throat making it impossible to speak.
"You look like this, so there’s no doubt you just fought! And he’s not here because he’s probably somewhere crying to himself like someone who just lost their entire world!"
"My son has given you everything," Mr. Wang continues, taking a step closer. "His love, his trust, his loyalty—and yet, you’ve done nothing but hurt him."
"Mr. Wa..." Ace protests, his voice shaking.
"Let me speak first," Mr. Wang snaps, his eyes narrowing. "He comes to me night after night, telling me how much he loves you, how much he’s done for you, and how little he gets in return. And now he’s gone, storming off somewhere in the middle of the night because of you."
Ace’s chest tightens with guilt. "I... I didn’t mean for this to happen," he says weakly.
Mr. Wang steps even closer, his presence intimidating. "If you can’t love him the way he deserves, let him go. Stop leading him on, Ace. I have no doubt you know how much he’s gone through. And you being so heartless to him leaves me thinking you want to destroy him completely."
"I..." Ace falters, his voice barely above a whisper. "I didn’t mean to hurt him. I swear I didn’t."
"Then prove it," Mr. Wang says coldly. "Stay away from him unless you’re ready to give him what he deserves. Otherwise, you’ll only keep hurting him."
Ace nods silently, tears blurring his vision again as he watches Jun’s father walk away and shut the door behind him.
Ace walks away, burying his face in his hands as sobs wrack his body.
He’s lost Jun, hurt him in ways he never intended. And now, walking alone in the darkness, the weight of his love for Kieran and the pain he’s caused Jun feels like it’s crushing him.
He’s never felt more alone.
In the darkness, he walks, searching the places Xiao Jun likes most, hoping to find him.
At Haven Park? No. The W.O.L.O Pub? No. There’s only one place left— at the grave yard, where his mother was buried.
Ace decides to use his wolf senses to sniff out Jun’s scent, hoping it will help him. Sure enough, it leads him to the graveyard.
When he gets there, he watches Jun from a distance for hours, unwilling to leave him alone considering what happened to him with the wolves that attacked him, and he also can’t dare go where he is.
After a while, Ace sees lights approaching—it’s a car. Mr. Wang steps out of it, walking to Jun.
He sits with him for a while, talking. Ace, with his wolf senses, listens in on their conversation. Unsurprisingly, the topic revolves around him.
When they leave, Ace stays behind, his whole being too numb to think or act.
He stands, undressing himself, and shifts fully into his wolf form, eventually sleeping there.
-------
The chirping of birds wakes him after just an hour of restless sleep. When he shifts back into his human form, he slips his clothes on, his body feeling weak.
He sits for a while, thinking about what to do next now that his life has finally become a complete mess.
He remembers that he and Kieran were supposed to investigate whether the two wolves had anything to do with Lila, but they never showed up at Kieran’s place.
"I can’t wait for all this to end so I can find my own life and start over," he murmurs to himself.
He sits down, crouching. For the past month, he has been trying to track Lila with his magic, but it’s been impossible.
His powers haven’t been working, and he wonders why. They are there but they are not working.
He closes his eyes, trying to concentrate and see if he can find her, but his mind is too chaotic.
He sighs, leaving the place,
He passes by a hotel, freshening up, and forcing himself to wear a fine expression as he heads to Kieran, eager to end everything.
The moment he enters the gate, his heart pounds, though his outer appearance looks calm.
"I’ve been waiting! I thought we agreed on something yesterday!" Kieran snaps the moment Ace enters through the study room door.
Ace doesn’t answer.
Kieran looks toward the door, probably expecting Xiao Jun, who doesn’t show up.
"Where’s Xiao Jun?" Kieran asks.
Ace ignores the question and says, "I refuse to believe that we’re unable to deal with this. The Moon Goddess herself thought we’d be able to, and that’s why she entrusted this responsibility to us. Maybe there’s something we’re missing. How about we sit down seriously and figure out this problem once and for all?"
Kieran stares at him, momentarily at a loss for words, before saying, "While you were away, I caught those two. I didn’t want to leave you out, so I’ve been waiting for you to come so we can talk to them together." freēwēbηovel.c૦m
"What did you catch them doing?" Ace asks.
"Actually, nothing. I thought about what you said yesterday in the meeting, and really, there’s nothing that explains everything if not what you suggested," Kieran answers.
"Where are they?" Ace asks, not caring about Kieran’s polite behavior today.
"In the mansion prison."
Ace storms out, heading there without hesitation, his emotions still out of control, his mind still chaotic.
