Alpha's mate is a male?!?-Chapter 139: Seek Help
Chapter 139: Seek Help
Good thing Ace got Rika’s number.
He dials immediately, barely giving himself a second to think. The call rings and rings, but no one picks up.
His jaw tightens.
He calls again.
Still no answer.
Frustrated but determined, he keeps trying. On the fifth attempt, the call finally connects, and Rika’s voice comes through, sounding breathless and slightly guilty.
"I’m really sorry, Ace! I was out there trying to make ourselves stronger. Oh! By the way, we now train together- every witch from every group comes here! So now we work together." she says, her voice filled with excitement.
Then she remembers Ace is the one who called her and he must have a reason why. "Am sorry I talk too much." She says guilty again.
Ace doesn’t waste time. "It’s okay, and that’s great to hear that you work together. Anyway, I need your help. Do you think you can come to the pack house immediately?" His tone is gentle but laced urgency, it cuts straight to the point.
There’s a slight pause before Rika answers without hesitation, "Of course! I’ll be there right away." She doesn’t even ask why-
Ace has done so much for them, and she would do anything for him .
The call ends.
Ace lets out a breath and glances around the room. "She’s coming."
The air in the room feels lighter, but the tension still lingers. They don’t have a solid plan yet, and time is running out.
Ace leans back against the wall, his gaze flickering between the others.
Now that Rika is coming, a sense of confidence settles over them.
The uncertainty lingering in the air starts to lift. They trust her. She’s powerful, and if anyone can help, it’s her.
But knowing where to find the woman is just the first step. They need a solid plan for what happens next.
"We should decide what to do once we find her," Marsel says, breaking the silence. He glances around, his expression serious. "We can’t just show up and expect everything to fall into place."
Jun taps his fingers against the table, thinking. "The easiest option is to take her and keep her here until the baby is born."
There’s a moment of quiet as they absorb the suggestion.
Kieran shakes his head. "That would only work if she has no one looking for her. If she has a family, or even just close friends, they’ll start asking questions. The last thing we need is unnecessary attention."
Rey exhales sharply. "We can’t make her disappear without consequences. If she has ties to people, someone will notice. That could lead to a mess we’re not prepared for."
Ace frowns. "What about erasing her memory of being pregnant?"
Elira considers the idea. "That would solve one problem. She wouldn’t even know what she lost. No grieving, no searching. It would be like it never happened. But that won’t solve everything."
"No, it will not, just as we have said, everyone around her will be a problem." Marsel points out. "Her family, if she has one, would still know she was pregnant. One day, she’s expecting a baby, and the next, she isn’t, and there’s no baby to explain it. That will raise suspicions."
The weight of the situation settles heavily over them. Every possible plan has a flaw.
Marsel lets out a deep breath. "There has to be a way to do this without causing chaos."
Ace is about to respond when a knock sounds at the door, sharp and deliberate. The tension in the room shifts instantly.
The door swings open before anyone can say a word. Rika steps inside, her long coat billowing slightly behind her.
She carries an air of confidence, but her sharp gaze scans the room carefully, as if assessing the atmosphere.
Right behind her, Max follows, his expression unreadable, his steps deliberate.
"Sorry to keep you waiting, I sensed the atmosphere from a distance ago." Rika says, pulling off her gloves as she surveys the room. "What’s happened? Or what’s happening?"
There are no drawn-out greetings. They don’t have time for that.
Ace straightens. "We need your help to find someone. It’s someone none of us any idea how she looks or where she lives , if it’s in this city or somewhere else."
Rika tilts her head slightly, intrigued but patient. "Alright. Let’s hear everything."
Max and Rika listens carefully, his brows furrowing as Ace lays out everything they know, or rather, what they don’t know. When Ace finishes, Max exhales, looking around the room with mild disbelief.
"If you guys don’t know anything about her at all, then that’s going to be difficult," he says. "You don’t have even a single lead? No name? No location? You’re making it sound like this woman doesn’t even exist."
The room falls into a heavy silence. They all know Max has a point. The fact that no one, not even Rehan’s Beta knows anything about her makes the situation even more frustrating.
"No lead at all? Anyway, if you don’t mind, who is she?"
Ace exhales sharply, running a hand through his hair. "Well... you remember Rehan, right?"
Max and Rika nod instantly. They don’t need an explanation, Rehan’s reputation alone is enough. Even he ever seeked help from witches to do his evil sketches.
"It’s a woman he got pregnant, and the woman is a human, pure innocent woman who has no idea what the person she got involved with is." Ace continues. "That’s the only connection we have."
Rika tilts her head slightly, her expression thoughtful. "Why are you even looking for her? Why can’t Rehan just say where she is?" She pauses, eyes narrowing. "Wait... don’t tell me Rehan himself is looking for her but can’t find her?"
Ace meets her gaze, his lips pressing into a thin line. "Rehan is dead."
A beat of silence follows, as if the weight of those words needs a moment to settle.
Rika’s expression shifts, surprise flickering across her face. Max straightens slightly, glancing at Kieran for confirmation.
Kieran nods. "A few hours ago."
A heavy tension lingers in the air. No one seems to know what to say next. Even if Rehan had enemies, his sudden death is still shocking to other people.
Max finally speaks, his voice slower this time. "I see... That complicates things."
"But he’s not cremated yet, is he?" Jun suddenly asks, his voice cutting through the quiet.
Kieran’s expression hardens slightly. "I don’t know. It was supposed to happen soon, but I don’t know if they’ve done it yet."
Rika’s eyes dart toward Max. "If we have a little of Rehan’s blood, we can use it."
Max nods in agreement. "The baby is his blood. If we can get a sample, we can track his blood of which the baby contain."
Elira straightens slightly. "That could actually work."
Rey, already moving toward the door, doesn’t wait for anyone’s approval. "I’ll go check."
Without another word, he strides outside, disappearing from sight. The rest of them exchange glances, a mix of urgency and anticipation settling in.
