Accidentally Yours, Mr. Stranger-Chapter 38: New security
Chapter 38: New security
Sienna departed with Kyrell and Frank once all her people had been settled. Sighing softly, she shook her head and glanced at the estate behind her. Although she was temporarily leaving the place, it still pained her when she recalled all the memories of when her family was still alive.
Sienna only took some items with her, leaving Frank to shift everything else later. With Luther and his team sealing the estate, no one would ever dare steal anything. But it was another matter if someone from his team tried doing something fancy.
"Is it done?" Sienna asked, giving Frank a cryptic look.
"Yes, Miss Lawrence. I have activated all the cameras in the estate," Frank said showing her the live recording on his phone.
Except for the bedrooms, the estate was equipped with cameras everywhere else. Sienna wasn’t worried about any materialistic things. They didn’t hold much value to her and the ones that did were already secured. It was the confidential documents she was more concerned about.
There were many important files, and she couldn’t move everything at once. So, she had to take precautions to prevent any mishaps.
"Miss Lawrence, you may retrieve your belongings in the morning. I’ll be here all night," Luther said, assuring her she could trust him. "You should get some rest first."
Sienna smiled wryly, silently indicating she didn’t trust anyone given her predicament. There were only a few people she could rely on and the number wasn’t even a doubt digit.
"We’ll see you in the morning, Officer Jenkins." Sienna nodded at him curtly before walking out and Frank followed her immediately.
"Luther, keep me updated," Kyrell sighed, pressing the space between his brows in frustration. Everything was spiraling out of control and he didn’t know how to tackle the issue. The dead bodies were piling up and the mastermind was still at large. How he wished he had the power to travel through time and prevent all the mishaps!
"It’s going to be one sleepless night," he mumbled, running a hand through his hair.
"Take care," Luther shouted after him before he joined his colleagues while Kyrell sprinted to catch up with Sienna and Frank.
It was a forty-minute drive to the Bay Area. But no one said a word. Sienna was sitting at the back, her gaze fixed on the passing scenery outside the window, while Kyrell was behind the wheel with Frank taking the shotgun.
"Frank," Sienna called him suddenly, breaking the tense silence. "Inform all the servants and the guards. They do not have to come to work anymore."
"Miss?" Frank was taken aback and he turned around in his seat to look at her. His eyes widened and he shook his head fervently. "No, no, Miss. You cannot do this."
"It’s for their safety, Frank. I don’t want to put their lives at risk."
"But..."
"The murderers are merciless. They don’t hesitate to kill anyone who stands in their way," Sienna reasoned, recalling the few servants and bodyguards who had lost her lives tonight. She didn’t know if they were her foe or a friend. Yet, it distressed her to see them dead and she was filled with intense regret.
"I should have dismissed them long ago. No one would have died then."
"But, Miss..." Frank had no words of argument. Sienna was right. Innocent people had died tonight and it’d only be selfish of her if she still kept them around.
"Pay them six months worth of salary. Also, compensate the family who lost their close ones today."
Although Sienna didn’t say anything more, Frank understood her intentions and he sighed heavily.
"But Miss, how are you going to survive without the guards? We need them to protect you." Frank was fine with sending away the servants, but not the bodyguards. Sienna’s life was in danger. She needed their protection.
"Miss Lawrence, I have a suggestion to make, if I may," Kyrell started, looking at her in the rearview.
Sienna blinked a few times to clear her thoughts and turned to him. Raising her head, she gestured for him to continue.
"Miss Lawrence, is it fine if we replace your guards with my people?" he asked, trying to read her face.
"Do you mean the people from the Cheetah Corps?" Sienna hadn’t expected him to make such a suggestion and was taken aback for a moment. Twisting her lips, she thought about it. "Are they better than the guards I currently have?"
"I’d say yes. But I’ll leave it for you to test and decide. Each of my people has been in the military or the special forces. We have better chances of protecting you well without putting our lives in danger."
Sienna was convinced by his words. Even Frank was persuaded. In the current situation, all he cared about was Sienna’s well-being and if it meant hiring the entire Cheetah Corps, he was in favor of it.
"Fine. I’ll leave it up to you to decide. You are in charge of my security. You may do as you deem fit." Sienna didn’t doubt Kyrell anymore. He had saved her life twice. If he really had ill intentions, he could have harmed her by now. He had a lot of opportunities to execute his plan.
"Yes, Miss Lawrence. You will meet your new security in the morning."
Sienna didn’t reply this time and leaned against her seat. Utterly exhausted, she closed her eyes and drifted off to sleep. It wasn’t until she heard Kyrell’s voice that she woke up again.
"Have we reached yet?" she asked, her voice groggy from sleep.
"Yes, Miss Lawrence. We have."
The security who was in charge of guarding the villa recognized Sienna and he opened the gates immediately. Kyrell drove inside, astonished at the sleek, modern structure before him.
Compared to the luxurious Lawrence Estate, the villa had a bold and modern style and fitted Sienna’s personality.
"Miss Lawrence, welcome," the guard ran to her and greeted her with a fawning smile and Sienna frowned when she sensed a strange vibe from him.
Not just her, even Kyrell and Frank found the man weird. He reeked of booze and smoke and Sienna stepped back when the pungent and repulsive smell hit her nose.
"Frank, take care of him," she ordered, displeased at the property management to have hired such a despicable man to guard her villa.
"Yes, Miss Lawrence."
Sienna didn’t bother about how Frank would deal with the man. She arrived at the entrance door and scanned her fingerprint.
Even though she hadn’t stayed at the villa even once, it had been cleaned and maintained well and she was satisfied.
Frank arrived a few minutes later after firing the guard and took a good look at the place. Although it wasn’t as colossal as the Lawrence Estate, the villa had its own style.
Sienna rubbed her eyes and walked towards the stairs. Stifling a yawn, she mumbled, "You may take any room you want. Have a good rest. I’ll see you tomorrow."
Frank and Kyrell glanced at each other, conveying their thoughts through their eyes. After locking the main door, they followed Sienna to the first floor where the master bedroom was.
Fortunately, the first floor had four rooms in total. Once Sienna closed her room door, Kyrell and Frank each chose a room before they retired for the night.
