Chapter 1475: Chapter 261: Really Moved

"Huh, perhaps." Pannis was startled for a moment, as if understanding something. His eyes narrowed into slits, and he asked in as gentle a voice as possible, "Has the enhancement of your power already begun?"

"Yeah, it’s on the rise." Nellie suddenly flashed a brilliant smile, speaking cheerfully, "Let’s not talk about that for now. First, explain my doubts to me."

"What comes next is quite simple. The continual problems I noticed led me to believe that your being controlled by Danacus was feigned. Once I had that thought, looking back at your reactions revealed many interesting details," Pannis said, his gaze twinkling. In the end, he simply nodded, smiling agreeably in return, "You kept provoking me. Even though I seemed indifferent, with your understanding of me, you must have known it was just a facade, which is why you became even more enthusiastic."

"Of course I knew." Nellie spoke happily, "You’re just like that. When it comes to my affairs, you seem indifferent on the surface but deep down, you’ve already torn your enemies to shreds and devoured them, hmph, this time is no exception."

"Sorry, I have no interest in eating people, I’m not a follower of the cannibalistic Morbis," Pannis rolled his eyes, saying irritably, "Knowing that it would anger me, you still did it. And what’s more despicable is that you don’t feel guilty at all, hmph, I shouldn’t have brought you food."

"It’s too late to regret it now, ah woo." Nellie stuffed a big mouthful of red rice jelly into her mouth, her words muffled, "Anyway, I’ve eaten it already, hehe."

"You rascal." Pannis had no way of dealing with Nellie’s mischievous behavior in private, starting from a long time ago, and could only continue helplessly, "With the earlier suspicions, I could see you were deliberately provoking me. The reason for the provocation? It was to make me hate Danacus even more, preferably to the point of firing the Hunting Arrow right then and there. Of course, you knew I wouldn’t do that. It would be too impulsive. I needed to find the best opportunity, so you weren’t in a hurry, but continued to provoke me. Only this time, it was no longer with yourself. You believed that the stirring of murderous intent in my heart was sufficient, so your next step was to reason with me, right?"

"Hehe, because you’re not unreasonable," Nellie giggled and nodded, "I needed to convince you, to let you know that killing Danacus is a must and that coexistence is impossible."

"So you told me Danacus’s ultimate purpose." Pannis recalled the process and said, "That purpose is real, right?"

"Yes, it’s real," Nellie nodded, "I was shocked when I found out too."

"It appears you saw some of his memories when his Divine Soul invaded you," Pannis mused, nodding thoughtfully, "That’s how you knew his purpose."

"I didn’t see much, just a few bits." Nellie said, "Like his memories of being born from the rules, his memories before his downfall, but the most profound was this part. Obviously, he’s been mulling over these things repeatedly, which is why the memories are so vivid."

"Then it’s clear, his purpose is indeed terrifying," Pannis said with narrowed eyes, "If we let him develop according to plan, not just our world—wrong, possibly countless worlds like Yarra could be destroyed and devoured, becoming his sustenance, part of him. Undeniable, his goal is lofty, and from the perspective of purpose alone, following in Lord Yarra’s footsteps and becoming a second Lord Yarra is technically not wrong."

"Hey, I remember you’re a follower of the Father Deity," Nellie nudged Pannis’s waist and whispered, "That kind of talk is sacrilegious, isn’t it?"

"Of course not, Lord Yarra wouldn’t mind these things. Someone who can create countless worlds, their magnanimous nature and perspective are beyond our understanding," Pannis shrugged, adding, "And anyway, He can’t hear what I’m saying."

"Hey, are you really a follower of the Father Deity?" The additional remarks made Nellie laugh and cry, and she punched Pannis in the back a few times, saying, "Don’t ever talk like that again. The Father Deity might not hear, but don’t forget that all deities are actually followers of the Father Deity. Be careful they don’t hear you, or they might come after you."

"I got it, I got it. I won’t talk about whether the Father Deity can hear us or not anymore," Pannis drawled in an unconcerned tone, brushing off the subject before continuing, "Discussing the purpose alone, indeed he did nothing wrong. However, from the standpoint of beings he deems potential targets to be eliminated, he is the utmost evil that must be utterly destroyed. You think the same, which is why you told me his plan. From the angle of reason, you reaffirmed my resolve to kill him, or rather, my resolve to kill you."

"Otherwise, I was worried you wouldn’t be able to do it," Nellie sighed, "I know you too well. I understand how painful a choice this is for you. Without a bit of encouragement to strengthen your resolve, maybe you could actually bring yourself to kill me, but you would suffer even greater psychological damage. By then, not a Catherine or my adventure team would be able to handle it."

"To think you would say it’s your adventure team," Pannis rolled his eyes, "They would cry if they heard you."

"It’s their own fault for using my name without my permission," Nellie stuck out her tongue and said with a cheeky smile, "Besides, I don’t believe they would cry. They would probably be too happy to."

"Humph, you’re exploiting their admiration for you," Pannis said with a twist of his mouth, "But your concerns, it’s hard to say whether they’re correct or not. After all, we’re talking about something that hasn’t happened and won’t happen again. No one knows the answer."

"Won’t happen again?" Nellie repeated Pannis’s words with a suggestive tone but said nothing more, only smiling.

Pannis’s expression turned a bit stiff, but he avoided what could potentially reignite an argument, patiently explaining, "After doing all that, you felt it was enough, so you dealt me the final blow."

"You played it so real." Nellie said discontentedly, "Even though you were full of doubts, you still acted as if you were struggling against temptation. That’s fraud."

"But you guessed wrong." Pannis let out a deep sigh, saying with a wry smile, "That one time, I wasn’t pretending to trick you. I was truly tempted."

"What?" Nellie was stunned, asking loudly, "You knew it was fake and you were still truly tempted?"
