Yarra's Adventure Notes-Chapter 1390 - 176 Annie and Little Deer’s Happiness
Chapter 1390: Chapter 176 Annie and Little Deer’s Happiness
"First, with the support of the information we have, we can temporarily conclude that the Undead we’ve encountered are trustworthy," Catherine’s voice was so low it was almost a whisper, "Although these leaders each had complex identities in life, surpassing our experiences, uh, except for Pannis, but no one knows about Vivian and Lina’s abilities besides us. Even if they wanted to disguise themselves, without specific targets, it would be hard for them to deceive Vivian’s eyes or Lina’s friends. Therefore, their reactions can be considered genuine for now. No objections to this point, I assume."
Catherine spoke in such a hushed tone because the two little ones had already hugged each other and fallen asleep in the same bed. Tonight, the two little Undead had more fun than ever before, unprecedentedly so. It was undeniable that back in Yarran World, although the people in the foreign mansion were kind to Annie and Little Deer and there were Michelle and Ansha, who weren’t much different from their original age, they always felt alone. The two children, although naive and adorable, clearly understood that they were different from the relatives around them, belonging to a different race. Pannis and the girls sensed the children’s feelings but could only shower them with more love, as psychological issues had to be resolved from a psychological standpoint, and such almost unsolvable problems left them no option but to hope the children would toughen up and adjust,"
The little ones were also very sensible, knowing that the brothers and sisters did not discriminate against them for being different, and that everyone cared and loved them. Therefore, they always appeared cheerful as if they didn’t care about their identities, and they even tried their best to help the older brothers and sisters, sharing their burdens. However, the more they did so, the more Pannis and the girls felt sorry for them, always hoping to relieve their psychological burden but unfortunately never finding a good way. Unexpectedly, this time, Catherine insisted on taking the two little ones with her and Pannis into the Realm of the Dead, and inadvertently, the issue was resolved. As they encountered one fellow Undead after another, the moods of the little ones improved more and more, becoming happier and happier. The thought of being different had been cast aside, realizing that having so many of their own kind meant they were not different at all, just of a different race, with nothing to feel inferior about or lonely for.
Free from their inner troubles, the little ones were bursting with energy. Tonight, for the first time, they gathered with so many sentient beings of their kind. The two initially shy fools quickly mingled with the other Undead, playing percussion with their jawbones, dancing in midair, exchanging in many special games that only the Undead could play, and even enjoying the food and drinks that only the Undead could consume. Indeed, it was these alcohol-like beverages aimed at the Undead that put the theoretically non-alcohol-sensitive little Undead into an excited state of drunkenness, and after a wild spree, they fell asleep in Pannis’s arms. Thus, the tavern’s wild celebration was nearly at its end, and amid the disgruntled roars of a knightly girl, the last group of rascals who had instigated the little ones to drink snickered and fled the tavern leaving the bemused girls and a chuckling Pannis behind."
With the two sleeping little ones settled in the tavern with the assistance of Shiela and Saen, the six members of the adventure team placed Annie and Little Deer on the bed next to them and did not disperse to rest. Instead, they gathered together, seriously starting to sort through the rewards of this long night.
"Hey, we’re talking about serious matters, and you’re still laughing." Spotting Pannis naturally turning his gaze towards the two drunken fools, and chuckling while looking down, the knightly girl glared at him disapprovingly but couldn’t help laughing herself. She shook her head in exasperation, "Those Undead are rascals too, taking advantage of our distraction to encourage the two little fools to drink. I really want to smash their bones."
"Big sister, your expression right now looks exactly like a mother seeing her daughter drink alcohol for the first time. It’s uncanny," Lina said nonchalantly, making a comment that made Catherine’s temples throb. "How about you just—hey, hey, big sister, calm down, don’t hit my head, I beg for mercy, I won’t dare again."
"Hmm." Catherine threatened the young priest by shaking her curled finger at her and then turned back to look at the two little ones sleeping soundly, sighing softly. "Actually, I’m no longer suited to judge how to treat the Undead, because my heart has already developed a partiality. Now, I especially hope that from now on, we can coexist peacefully with the Undead, not only because this was Lady Nellie’s wish, her unfinished business, but also to protect those two little dimwits’ happy smiles. What would they do if a war were to break out eventually? Having just escaped psychological turmoil, just when they could set down all burdens and live happily, they would plunge into despair once more due to a man-made war. It would be too cruel for them, and I truly don’t want to see that scene happen."
"That is why we need to be more cautious," Freya said gently and softly, but the deepest part of the princess’s gaze remained calm, as calm as unwavering rock. Having seen much of humanity’s darkness and desire, it seemed that Princess Freya only lost her composure in front of Pannis. At other times, she faced the core of the issue directly, like now. "A cautious attitude, whether towards the Undead or the living, is beneficial. Making decisions rashly can provoke war, whereas careful consideration and being fully prepared can nip the conflict in the bud."
"I understand that rationale, so I am trying hard to resist my inner bias," Catherine nodded. "However, I still believe that the Undead’s current behavior is trustworthy, just as everyone unanimously agreed earlier. We could suggest at the Union Meeting of our races to try resolving the issue of the Undead through peaceful means."
"I don’t oppose that conclusion." The princess switched her beautiful face to a serious expression. "However, there are still some issues that need consideration."
