Chapter 61 -57: The Process – Part 1

The massive white Airbus gradually landed with a roaring noise, beginning to taxi.

“Flight k330 has arrived, please prepare for boarding,” the sweet voice of the announcer echoed throughout the waiting room.

A portion of the crowd rose from their seats at the broadcast’s prompt.

On the airport runway, the sealed cabin door was opened by the staff. A metal ladder slowly extended, and soon, passengers who had just disembarked from the plane began to emerge. Leading the way was a middle-aged man with faint wrinkles on his face, holding the hand of a beautiful young girl dressed in a black skirt. The girl’s skin shone like ivory, capturing the attention of other passengers disembarking at the same time.

“The most recent route to South Korea is by sea,” the middle-aged man said loudly as he walked out of the gate. “We’ll probably transfer here on the way there, but we can only travel by land on the way back.”

Behind him and the girl, a young man with long, soft hair and narrow eyes followed. The strong wind constantly blew his hair back.

“Why do you say that, Uncle Xu?” The young man wore a gray and white checkered short sleeve shirt with dark black jeans. Although not handsome, he had a soft and serene aura.

“It’s easy to be intercepted by sea,” the man known as Uncle Xu explained loudly. “It’s easy going there; coming back is the hardest. It was the same last time.”

He looked at his daughter with affection. “That’s why if possible, please take good care of my daughter Yuanyuan in the future. She is innocent.”

He had messed up, and his daughter was inadvertently dragged into it. So he always felt deeply remorseful towards his daughter.

“I can only promise that while I take care of myself, I will try my best to look after your daughter,” the young man behind them said as he stepped out of the gate with a colorless expression.

“I doubt I can even take proper care of myself, but I’ll do whatever I can,” the aforementioned young man said with a wry smile.

“Thank you both,” the middle-aged man smiled somewhat relievedly. These two young men might be the only ones he could relax with a bit.

“Dad…” The girl in the black dress shyly tugged at her father’s sleeve and gently shook it, seemingly upset about her father speaking in such an ominous tone.

“Alright, let’s first go get our things. Lin Mu, all your stuff is checked in.”

“Mhm.”

This group was indeed Lin Fei and his companions. They had taken a flight from Qu City to arrive at this night market and needed to transfer from here by sea to reach the northern port city in South Korea.

The middle-aged man walking in the lead was named Xu Wei, an old veteran who had participated in three missions. Throughout the journey, he talked a lot to Lin Fei and the other Crossdresser about the precautions of the mission, and he also expressed his hopes that they could take care of his daughter Xu Shiyuan when possible.

Following the crowd, the three of them and the main troop came down the ladder, went through the airport’s shuttle bus service, and arrived directly at the baggage claim area.

Rows of luggage parcels continuously rotated on the circular conveyor belt, waiting for everyone to retrieve their corresponding luggage tags. Occasionally, passengers pulled off bags or suitcase onto carts and pushed them away.

Lin Fei’s checked items were the Longsword Ring and Bear Claw. Since they were slightly below the standard regulated blades, they were allowed on the plane, and Lin Fei had declared them as craft collectibles while filling out the precaution details.

The three of them stood by the conveyor belt, waiting for a while, then each retrieved their belongings.

However, when Lin Fei opened the Sword Bag to check, something unexpected occurred.

“Where are my things?!” His face suddenly darkened. Inside the Sword Bag was not his original Longsword Ring but a long black metal bar.

Xu Wei and the Crossdresser young man next to him were startled. Normally, airline luggage handling is quite safe and rarely problematic, but unexpectedly, such an incident occurred right in front of them.

“Go to the airport baggage claim department immediately!! Lin Mu, what’s in your bag?” Xu Wei was the first to react, urging urgently.

“A longsword, and a small item for self-defense,” Lin Fei replied grimly. “That longsword is very valuable.”

“No wonder,” Xu Wei said with a grave expression.

Lin Fei was about to ask a nearby staff member for assistance with a complaint when suddenly, from the corner of his eye, he noticed a young man in a leather jacket, seemingly in a hurry to get to the exit. Lin Fei observed something long wrapped within the man’s jacket. Walking briskly, the man accidentally bumped into a woman who was also in a rush, revealing the corner of a black sword hilt wrapped in his jacket.

“Catch him! He’s the one who stole my thing!” Lin Fei immediately shouted loudly and was the first to start running. Following him, Xu Wei quietly said something to his daughter, then asked the cross-dresser and his daughter to wait for their return together while he too chased after the man.

This incident immediately alarmed everyone in the baggage claim hall.

The man in front seemed to realize he had been spotted and, without further hiding, broke into a run. However, Lin Fei was much faster than him and caught up within seconds, grabbing the man’s collar from behind.

“Leave the stuff behind!” Lin Fei, extremely annoyed, exerted a bit of force and yanked sharply.

“Bang!” The man stumbled backward from the pull.

The longsword ring in the jacket of the man clattered to the ground.

“What the hell are you doing!”

Before Lin Fei could speak, surprisingly, the man began shouting at Lin Fei aggressively.

Lin Fei was taken aback, not having encountered such a scenario where someone who stole something was still fierce and aggressive.

“What am I doing? You stole my stuff….”

“Watch your words! When did I ever steal from you?” The man spoke in a weird accent. Yet, his expression seemed even more infuriated than Lin Fei’s.

“You still have the nerve to argue!” Lin Fei was immediately enraged. He pointed to the sword on the ground, “That sword is mine! You dare say you didn’t steal it?”

“So what? Can’t I make a mistake in taking the wrong item?” the man shouted back defiantly.

As Lin Fei was about to explode, he was restrained by Xu Wei who had just caught up. Xu Wei pointed to a man in a police uniform nearby.

Lin Fei was about to approach this officer to report the incident, but the officer glanced over, deliberately turned his head away, and walked off quickly, completely uninterested in dealing with the situation.

And the passengers passing by also acted as if they were indifferent, quickly walking away as if nothing had happened.

“Does no one care here?” Lin Fei loudly exclaimed in frustration.

“Let me tell you, kid, don’t stir up trouble if it’s unnecessary to make life difficult for yourself. If something happens later, don’t blame me for not warning you,” the man sneered, seemingly pleased that no one around cared about the situation and even began to threaten Lin Fei.

“Damn it, almost had my stuff stolen, and the police here don’t even care, what kind of place is this!” Lin Fei was furious and marched forward. “Fine, if the police won’t handle it, I’ll handle you myself!”

“Bang!” Before he had finished speaking, Lin Fei stepped forward and punched the man hard in the stomach.

“That’ll teach you to be arrogant!” Another knee strike followed, and with a thud, the man was slammed against the wall behind him, blood oozing from his nose and mouth.

Xu Wei hadn’t even had the chance to react when the situation suddenly escalated.

“What are you doing! Stop! Stop!” Just as Lin Fei was about to kick the man again, the police officer who had passed by earlier came running back, shouting loudly.

“Officer, our companion’s baggage was…” Xu Wei stepped forward to explain, but was abruptly cut off by the impatient officer.

“Alright, I got it. Everyone follow me back to the station to make a statement! You are suspected of assaulting a foreign national…” the officer began accusing Lin Fei.

“When did I hit him?” Lin Fei suddenly interrupted, pointing innocently at the thief who was getting up from the ground, “Don’t believe me, you can take him for an examination. I really didn’t lay a hand on him.”

“If you didn’t hit him, then where did the blood on his face come from?” the officer demanded sternly.
