True Solution of the Sword Dao-Chapter 41 - 37
Chapter 41: Chapter 37
Chapter 41 -37
“Who are you?”
In the pitch-black space, the massive Divine Beast loomed like a sculpture, its serrated mouth casting a diagonal blue beam of light downward.
A young man dressed in black stood silently in the beam, his back to Lin Fei. The longsword hanging at his waist was the black longsword that was in Lin Fei’s hand just a moment ago.
Lin Fei’s questioning voice echoed continuously within the space, but the man did not answer, merely standing silently in the beam.
“Click!”
A tiny crack suddenly spread out. Like a spiderweb, it permeated the entire space.
“Clang!” At the last moment, Lin Fei vaguely saw the man draw the longsword from his waist. A deep voice faintly reached him.
“Sword Heart Chain.”
In an instant, his vision was filled with countless silver rings spinning and swirling.
************
“Phew!”
He suddenly opened his eyes.
Lin Fei abruptly found himself still in the original location. The body of the overweight policeman, sliced in two, lay quietly on the floor, the air thick with the stench of blood.
The sound of police sirens was getting closer from downstairs.
“Time to go.” He knew he had to leave quickly, or if other outsiders discovered his presence, cleaning up afterward would become problematic.
Hurrying to the study, he picked up the black plastic bag.
Turning around, he walked to the security door. The one thing he least wanted to happen, still happened.
Standing in the staircase, Lin Fei calmly watched the girl who was about to come upstairs. The latter also looked up at him in astonishment.
Lin Fei’s hand tightened slightly on the hilt of his sword. A faint murderous intent subtly emerged.
“Quick!! Move faster!! It’s just on the rooftop.”
“I heard a scream from the rooftop just now. I knew right away that something had happened.”
“Leave two people to block the exit. We absolutely can’t let anyone escape!!”
Zhao Jun’s complexion was grim as he ran upstairs with a pistol in both hands, almost taking several steps as one.
Ever since the day he had a confrontation with that kid called Lin Fei, he had a nagging feeling that this kid was not simple. Thus, he arranged for Sun Hai to specifically investigate this matter, only to accidentally discover shocking information. Lin Fei very likely was a murderer. This also inadvertently confirmed his and Sun Hai’s suspicion.
“Hurry up, the rest of you!” he yelled back at the people following him.
“Okay!!”
“Bang!”
“Don’t move!!”
The security door was suddenly pulled open.
Zhao Jun froze. Standing at the doorway, his hands holding the pistol, his veins bulging visibly.
What met his eyes was a hellish, bloody scene.
The bodies of five people, two of which were no longer intact. The smell of viscera and fresh blood permeated the entire air. Crimson blood covered most of the living room floor, some dripping down from the staircase, and some from the sliced-in-half body of the overweight policeman laying on the ground.
Zhao Jun walked into the living room and crouched, lightly dabbing some blood from the floor.
“It’s still warm! They haven’t gone far!!” he abruptly stood up.
By now, two other officers had followed him through the door. Seeing the scene, they instinctively gripped their pistols, their faces slightly pale.
“Be careful, you two move together! Start by searching these few rooms.” Zhao Jun whispered to the two.
The two almost nodded simultaneously.
****************
“Aren’t you afraid of me?”
Lin Fei gently asked the girl.
The latter nodded excitedly, “I’m Zhou Ting! What’s your name?”
“I just killed someone, do you know that?” Lin Fei calmly stated. Slowly, he slid the black longsword back into the sword bag and slung it on his back.
Zhou Ting’s expression faltered.
“You’re not a bad guy, right?” she asked somewhat nonsensically.
Lin Fei chuckled quietly, nodding slightly, “Yes, to be exact, I am a good person.” Indeed, representing Shueisha to exterminate drug lords, indeed counts as a good person.
He began to size up the home of the girl who claimed her name was Zhou Ting.
The entire living room was dominated by light yellow colors.
Next to the large black back-projection, there was a row of black glass against the wall serving as a decoration.
Opposite the back-projection was a white sofa, adorned with a few black cushions. The white floor tiles were so clean they could reflect someone’s image. It was evident it had been cleaned recently.
Outside the door, the footsteps of police officers going up and down the staircase were clearly heard.
Lin Fei took out his phone and sent a text message to his contact.
“Found a witness, how should we handle this?”
He quickly received a reply.
“Don’t mind her, the police station has already taken care of it.”
The text had just been answered.
Lin Fei and Zhou Ting then immediately heard a flurry of hurried footsteps from the stairwell, as if more people were coming upstairs.
“You can come out now. Our people have arrived.” Another text came through.
Lin Fei smiled, put away his phone.
He looked at Zhou Ting sitting on the sofa, her face filled with anxiety.
“Alright, I am leaving now. Thank you for this time; otherwise, it would have been troublesome if there had been a conflict with those officers.”
Zhou Ting opened her mouth slightly, about to speak, just to see Lin Fei casually open the door and walk out without looking back.
“Bang.” The security door closed before Zhou Ting fully recovered.
“Aren’t there still police outside?” She was stunned for a moment before finally managing to squeeze out a sentence.
**********
The narrow staircase was now crowded with people.
Zhao Jun and the first group of police officers that had arrived, along with residents who had opened their doors to see what was happening, and a group of people who arrived later wearing thin jackets.
“We will take over from here. The detectives can go back now,” said a man wearing a black jacket with an indifferent face, pulling out a National Security Department license in front of Zhao Jun and others.
“There was a major criminal case here; shouldn’t our detective squad be in charge of this area?” said a middle-aged man with a solemn face standing in front of Zhao Jun, calling himself Mu Yuan, the head of the detective squad. Only he had the authority to stand out and speak with these men at this time.
“The case here involves national security issues. It is no longer purely a local criminal case. Therefore, we will take over,” the leading man said coldly.
Just then, the security door next to them suddenly opened.
Lin Fei walked out calmly and then casually closed the door.
“Did you find anything, Lin?” the jacket-clad leader suddenly asked Lin Fei.
Lin Fei quickly realized that this was the arranged plan for his escape.
“No, I was a step too late. I just inquired about what happened in this resident’s home, but unfortunately, I didn’t find anything.”
The man nodded, saying, “You go back first. There are new arrangements for you from above. We will handle it here.”
Lin Fei nodded naturally, “Alright.”
Meanwhile, the detectives standing to the side all wore puzzled expressions. It was because Lin Fei was too young.
“There’s such a young newcomer in such a special department?” one officer murmured softly.
Zhao Jun was the only one who knew the real situation. He hadn’t told anyone other than Sun Hai about Lin Fei because without evidence, all speculations are baseless. After receiving Chen Kun’s phone call, he knew this was a likely chance to capture evidence against Lin Fei, so he immediately notified the head of the detective squad, Mu Yuan, to bring his men and head over here.
And now, Lin Fei had mysteriously become a subordinate of the National Security Department, which was extremely surprising to him.
“Perhaps he was originally from the National Security Department? It’s just that we had a conflict after carrying out a mission last time?” he speculated. “Was this murder really his doing?” He began to keenly observe Lin Fei.
Because Zhou Ting’s home was just on the side occupied by the detective squad, Lin Fei had to pass through the crowd of detectives to get back to the Shueisha team.
Lin Fei, calmly carrying the Sword Bag, squeezed through the gap. As he passed Zhao Jun.
“Stop!! Don’t move!!”

Suddenly, Zhao Jun quickly pulled out a gun from his waist and aimed it at Lin Fei as he shouted sternly.
“Zhao Jun! What are you doing!!” Mu Yuan and the other detectives’ face changed dramatically.
“Zhao team!! Calm down!!”
“Zhao team!! You’re crazy!!”
A group of people exclaimed, quickly trying to calm him down.
Lin Fei, who was just walking out of the detective squad, stopped when he heard the sudden shout behind him. He turned around and quietly looked at Zhao Jun.
