Trapped In A Novel As The Breeding Mate For Four Powerful Alphas-Chapter 124: H-hyung, there’s a video call going on
Chapter 124: H-hyung, there’s a video call going on
I walked up to my room but didn’t open my door. I had to have at least one of them with me when I checked the camera, so...
I continued walking till I arrived at the first door after mine. It was Ki-hoon’s bedroom.
Come to think of it, I don’t remember much about their bedrooms. I recall I, Jo-Pil, got to spend some nights there in the past but... That was it.
I don’t remember the interior or if the bed was comfortable. It was because I wasn’t comfortable in their presence or their arms.
"Phew," I exhaled softly and raised my hand to knock.
Let’s not think of the past too much. This was a new life filled with the same people with different characters.
"Knock-knock," I knocked on his door. "Hyung?"
I waited for a bit, and before long, he opened the door. He looked at me, surprised.
"Jo-Pil?"
He was probably surprised that I was at his door.
Yeah, so was I. But I didn’t have a choice.
"Can I come in?"
I was planning to borrow his laptop and check the content of the memory card. Who knows? What if I check it through the cameras, and the camera suddenly explodes in my face?
I was being overly cautious, but if Ki-hoon’s laptop ended up exploding, we can shield ourselves properly and then have a spat with Seo-Jun later.
"Give it here," he said after I had told him I wanted to check the content of the memory card with him.
It made him feel special because I had chosen him out of everyone else. Childish, much, but I understood how he felt.
Since I had put it on him, he planned to do his best. fгee𝑤ebɳoveɭ.cøm
I handed the camera to him as I walked into the room with him.
My eyes roamed around the room. It was rather... Ki-hoon-like. I mean, it was dark and quite plain, but like my room, everything in it was exquisitely made with fine fabrics and antiques.
"Please, sit here, Jo-Pil." He said rather politely as he held my hand and led me to his desk.
He didn’t need to hold my hand and be so tender at that, but it seemed like he wanted to hold my hand and use this as an opportunity.
He was still wearing a glove on one hand, and I wondered. When should it test out the level of his affection towards me?
So far, I was very confident that I had gotten Jin-Yeok in my book. He was the one I was most confident in because he went as far as spilling his ugly secrets to me.
Not everyone can do that, even when faced with the one they love. They wished to hide it as much as possible, but if it was the sincerity their partner wanted, then they would have to unwrap the secrets one way or the other.
I watched him as he took out a USB drive and began to work on the camera. There was a laptop open in front of me, and then my eyes widened as I began to freak out.
"H-hyung, there’s a video call going on." I said, pointing at the screen.
"I know." He said. "They can keep going."
He muted their voices, but who was to say if he turned off the microphone as well?
"B-b-but," I stuttered silently, scared and ashamed, all the words you could think of. "They can see me." I covered my embarrassed face, and Ki-hoon turned to the laptop, leaning in as he took a closer look, and his head nearly rested on my shoulder.
He was so close.
I gulped.
Why was this happening?
"Haha," he laughed.
"Why... Why are you laughing?" I asked with a deary tone, and he turned to me, his eyes warmly fixed on me.
"It’s because you’re acting so cute, Jo-Pil." He said, and my heart cheered for this handsome man.
I quickly looked away, pressing my lips together as my face burned and my heart went out of control.
"Also, I turned off my camera and microphone on my end." He said and raised his body, dropping his hands on my shoulders, and I flinched. "So, they can’t hear or see you, Jo-Pil."
He said that, and that was supposed to make me feel better, but I couldn’t ease up no matter what. I had been bested by him and his video call.
"But... Why did you cry?" He suddenly asked, and I flinched. He had such good eyes.
I didn’t cry a lot, so my eyes weren’t puffy, so how did he know that I cried?
"Will... Will you believe me if I say it’s nothing?" I asked, smiling awkwardly, and he sighed.
"Jo-Pil," he called softly and caressed my face, underneath my eyes with his thumb, and looked at me softly. "I’d like to believe you, but you... You cry so much these days."
Do I? But I only woke up yesterday.
"If you say it like this, it makes me seem like a crybaby."
"It seems you are." He muttered softly, and my heart beat increased.
"B-but is it okay though?" I asked, changing the topic.
"What?"
"You were in the middle of a video call and I interrupted you." I said, but he laughed, looking at me like I was a hamster playing tricks and said,
"It’s fine. I was already getting bored with their chatter anyway." He said and I gulped.
He was handsome.
"I’ll turn it off anyway since I need to check this." He said, referring to the USB in hand.
"But shouldn’t you at least conclude the meeting?" I asked.
This was crazy. How could he be so laxed in a meeting that seemed to be so important that was why he was attending through a video call?
He couldn’t miss it. And yet he was missing it.
"I guess I should." Ki-hoon said after giving it a little thought, and then leaned in, once again his face was so close to mine.
I was so focused trying to keep my heart rate from spiking up that I did not notice he had turned on the cam of his laptop while I was still sitting there... In front of it.
"Um, Mister President," I heard a voice and jolted out of my fantasy, shifting my eyes towards the laptop and the long table of people looking in my direction.
My heart spiked.
They were all looking at me with curiosity in their eyes, and a bit of confusion, and my eyes were twirling. This has to be a dream, right?
Why was Ki-hoon so reckless?
"We’re concluding the meeting here." Ki-hoon said. "As for all the important noted and briefed matters, my secretary will take note of them and I will personally look through them." He said, but my heart was still racing.
Did he not see what they were looking at? Where their attention were?
But it seemed like Ki-hoon didn’t care. He said his piece and then ended the call, disregarding whatever they had to make out of what they just saw or if they had any complaints.
Surely, they wouldn’t have any complaints but...
I still couldn’t get why he turned on the cam while I was still in front of his laptop.
It was as if... He wanted them to see me.
Wait. I looked at that proud smirk on his lips, and a thought flashed through my mind. Just now, was he showing me off?
