While she accessed the forum, she did not forget to issue a warning to Severus. "Don’t appear out of nowhere next time, we are in the human world, not the underworld."

"I always check and appear when he is not looking or when he is asleep." Severus answered a bit arrogantly.

He was not a careless hound or a stupid one, he knew what not to do. And he was very careful about that human husband of hers whose eyes always looked at him deeply as if they could see through him. Something about that man made him very unsettled.

"It’s a mission to find and return a missing artifact of one of the gods which is causing great strife in another world. Why does it say guardian reapers only?"

"Because search and retrieval of lost supernatural trinkets is a duty for guardian warriors. If you were a warrior reaper your mission would be to hunt an escaped demon or soul from hell." Severus answered. "Missions come with rewards and the experience is good for growth. My suggestion is that you take it on. I will be coming with you of course, I go wherever you go."

"How long do the missions usually take?" She asked him.

Justin turned his body around in the bed and he mumbled something, drawing the attention of both Scarlet and Severus. For a while both stayed silent as they waited for him to settle down.

When he remained asleep, she turned to Severus and asked him, "What were you about to say?"

"The missions, sometimes they take days, months or even years. You will find out when you accept it. I know what worries you are your human affairs but fear not for you can go in and out of the mission as you please until it is completed. Reapers are not expected to spend all of their time in the world that needs help because they have responsibilities on their own world. You cannot abandon the souls here because of the mission."

His explanation calmed her heart and erased all of her fears. In a moment’s decision, she registered herself for the mission and was asked to wait for further instructions.

She withdrew from the underworld forum and looked at the time on her bracelet terminal.

"It’s way past lunch." she said.

"I was about to say so myself." Severus told her.

She headed to the area of the large suite which served as a living room. A female robot butler immediately turned around when she arrived.

"Do I have any messages?" she asked it.

"You have three messages." It responded.

"Video, audio or physical?" she asked.

"One audio and two physical." it told her.

"Play the audio." she commanded.

Out of the robot butler’s mouth, in Carolyn’s voice came the words, "Sister, we all came by to see how Justin is doing but the red light above your door said not to disturb and your robot butler will break us if we attempt to come in forcefully. Anyway, give me a call when you are free. Aah, what am I doing when I can leave this message on your phone. Check your phone when you get this."

"Give me the physical messages." she held her hand out to the robot butler.

It opened it’s chest and brought out two sealed envelopes. One was marked with the seal of the emperor and another the seal of the Seven suns hotel.

"Thank you." she told the robot butler and then turned around and returned to the bedroom.

She opened the envelope with the message from the emperor first. It was a brief greeting which was followed by a request for lunch and dinner. He asked for new foods if possible.

"Does he think that I am his personal chef?" she asked herself.

The next envelope was a brief note from Lady Gayle asking for a ten minute meeting.

It was half past two o’clock and early in the morning, they were supposed to set off on their return journey to the Blue star. She, Justin and Esong were supposed to go to an amusement park in the evening. If lady Gayle wanted to meet her, it would have to be now.

The card had lady Gayle’s contact information and she called her immediately.

"Lady governor," the woman’s happy voice came from the other end.

"I received your message Lady Gayle, and I would love to meet you too. However I am quite pressed for time as I have plans for the evening and I will be leaving tomorrow morning. If it’s not too much of a bother could you please meet me in my suite between now and five o’clock."

Lady Gayle politely agreed to this request and Scarlet washed her face, drunk some water, poured out two glasses of wine unfolded a table and took out the ingredients that she would be using to cook.

Once again, she would be doing so on the balcony but she would be using the one outside the living room. Since her plan was to teach the people about more street foods, all the ingredients she put out where related to that.

She turned on the live broadcast and waited for two minutes until the view count climbed up. She did not expect many viewers on a day when multiple concerts were going on in different planets. For privacy, she muted the broadcast so that her viewers would not listen in on her conversation with lady Gayle. She did add the words easy street foods to sell in the headline section of the broadcast.

"Alex, you are going to name the ingredients and scan the quantities for the viewers since I will not be able to talk to them." she told her bracelet AI.

"Yes mistress."

She started with corn dogs which were pretty easy to prepare and she made ten of them before lady Gayle arrived and was let inside by the robot butler. It also led her to the balcony and Scarlet pointed her to the chair which Severus had pushed closer. It kept her out of the cameras view while maintaining a close enough distance to enable them hold a discussion.

"I am sorry for doing this as we talk. It’s just that my son and his father will be up soon and one or both of them will be hungry." Esong would definitely be hungry because both of them had skipped breakfast before going to the execution. freewebnσvel.cѳm

She saw lady Gayle looking at the drone and she rushed to assure her, "Please, don’t mind the camera. I made sure that your chair is in a blind spot and muted the volume so they can’t hear me."

Lady Gayle relaxed and smiled. She leaned back in the chair comfortably and looked at the corn dogs which were waiting to be fried.

"What are those?" she asked.

"Corn dogs." Scarlet told her.

"I know corn." she said. "But the dogs..." she finished unsurely, staring at Severus curiously.

Severus in turn growled at her. Did this woman think about eating him?

Severus was pretty much the most famous dog in the interstellar at the moment. He was in close competition with the emperor’s two dogs which the third princess posed with and posted all the time. Those dogs wore jewels and had expensive gadgets and toys to match. Still, Severus outranked them in popularity as he had many anti fans.
