Chapter 368: Feverish

"Are you okay baby?" she asked him. He was trembling and he appeared to be shaken. Even his body was burning up, and he seemed to have broken out in a sudden fever. He must have been shaken up his first up close attendance for the execution something his father insisted on bringing him to. She had covered his eyes as much as she could but it was possible that he saw something, two hours was a long time for him to have kept his eyes completely closed.

Even if it wasn’t the beheadings, the executioners alone and the cult like environment in the coliseum had probably freaked him out. If she had not transmigrated from a zombie world where she saw human beings being eaten alive, she would have freaked out as well.

"He needs spiritual cleansing, evil souls should never mix with children, not even for a second. They leave behind residual energy which affects them, hence the fever. " Severus told her.

She carried him in her arms and shouted, "Esong, let’s go, Justin is not fine."

He abandoned his cousin Jorgen, the fourth prince and swiftly came to them, taking Justin from Scarlet’s arms immediately. The little one, he noticed was pale and sweaty. It was hot and the sun was cruel in the heat it sent down on the earth but Justin was trembling as if they were in the winter season.

"He needs heat." Esong said.

"Not when he is sweating." she countered.

Both of them walked quickly, hurrying to the car parking. On the way, they bumped into Carolyn and Markay who were walking to Markay’s waiting royal convoy.

"Sister." Carolyn called out to her and waved.

In a rush, Scarlet barely waved back, entering into the car so quickly and it flew off straight away.

Carolyn whose right hand was still raised high as she had been waving excitedly at Scarlet was left puzzled. Why did those two seem to be in a hurry? Immediately, her thoughts went to their home, had something gone wrong?

Once, after the execution ended a group of pirates attacked the capital to take vengeance for the death of their colleagues. They were defeated and arrested but not before killing eleven people and blowing up a shelter. Was the Blue star safe?

She fumbled for the phone in the pocket of her cloak because her space bracelet and terminal had been left behind at the hotel when she was rushing. The phone however had been in the cloak since the previous night when Markay took her on a date at the royal conservatory.

"What’s wrong?" he asked her.

"I need to know if everything is okay at home, my sister looks panicked." she answered.

He placed his left hand over her right one and the phone in her hand dropped. It almost hit the ground but Markay used kinesis to save it, returning it to her.

"If something was wrong at home I would be the first to know because I left behind my men. Look at every screen or hologram around us that is showing the news from every star planet. There is nothing like insecurity anywhere, I think something else is wrong, Esong was carrying their son with worry on his face."

The call which she made just before her phone almost fell down had already gone through and Adler was calling for her on the other end.

"Yo, little sister, woohoo, over here." he persistently called, waved and tried to get her attention.

She looked at the phone, saw his face and asked, "Did you watch the ceremony?"

"Yeah, it was harrowing as always." he told her. "How are you enjoying your trip?"

He said nothing about danger and he was talking to her from his office, a place which would be exploding with action if something was wrong on their home planet. Some of her worry eased but her mind still went to Justin, was something wrong with him? She did not want to worry Adler however, he would get on a ship and come if he heard anything worrisome in relation to Justin or Scarlet.

"It’s fun," she answered with a forced smile. "The capital is just as over crowded, and filled with huge egos as always. You can’t take two steps without someone acting like you have offended them. Oh, and you will never guess who I bumped into."

"One of our relatives." he said in a bored voice.

"No, Reya Marley." she said the name with absolute disgust on her face.

Markay definitely knew the name and he knew what Reya had done to Carolyn. He anticipated the conversation turning vulgar, loud and abusive language was probably going to be used so he guided her into the car by her shoulders.

He went around to enter the other side of the car and he heard Carolyn snarly saying, "That sly bitch had the guts to smile at me.!!! Can you imagine that? She smiled at me with her rotten teeth and said with a snark, "Fancy meeting you here. You are glowing, poverty really suits you." She slapped the car seat and Markay jumped up in surprise.

"You should have taught her a lesson, isn’t that we Su’s are best at lately? Don’t tell me that you are going to humbly accept her attack?" Adler replied.

Markay who had a good idea about the streak of violence among the Su’s shook his head, not surprised by the words his brother-in-law was saying. But Carolyn was his wife to be, a potential future empress, she could not be caught in a scandal like that.

He brought his head closer to Carolyn so that he could speak to Adler clearly. "Brother Adler, I will deal with Reya Marley, please don’t encourage my baby to fight."

Carolyn pushed Markay’s head away and said, "Adler, don’t you know me well enough by now. I have already set ten traps for her and before the day ends she will be in incredible physical pain and nothing will be traced back to me. I did it before, after she got me expelled and I am going to do it again, only double this time."

"Cool, now you are speaking like my beloved sister and the Carolyn I grew up with. I would be so disappointed if the daughter of a hunter was so easily outmaneuvered by a talentless thief." Adler praised her.

Carolyn giggled, filled with excitement at his encouragement. It took her back to their teenage days of plotting, and scheming against their opponents in hunting games and bare knuckle fights. Back then, she intended to be a hunter but her mother forbade it.

Scarlet and Esong had arrived back at the castle, and the hotel doctor was giving Justin a check up. As he did that, Scarlet wiped the little ones head, fed him purifying water and lit some sage using her green flame out of the sight of the two men.

She also warmed a cup of milk for him, added some spiritual honey and waited for the doctor to make his judgements.

"He will be fine, just feed him a heat relieving pill and fever syrup from any pharmacy." The doctor said. novelbuddy.cσ๓

"No med bed." Esong said questioningly.

"No general, the little one was probably frightened." the doctor assured him.
