Chapter 210: Enemies Are Coming

Time went by quickly and without realizing it, it had been two days since King Aldric gave a mission to Brigadier General Ethan.

At this moment, General Ethan was standing before the people entrusted to his command for the upcoming mission.

With the name of the Tuiziya Kingdom behind him, Foster had managed to recruit one hundred thousand people in just two days.

Even though none of them were Grandmaster rank warriors or 4-star mages, the weakest among them were Elite rank warriors and 2-star mages, so it could be said he had done a good job.

After all, their enemy was only a small city, so from his point of view, it was more than enough to complete their mission.

"I’m General Ethan, the one chosen to lead this army. From now on, you follow my command." he declared firmly. "As you all know, our mission is to eliminate Nightshire City."

He then continued, "Once the mission is complete, His Majesty will reward each of you. Those who perform outstandingly in the war will be granted a status by His Majesty, so do your best!"

"A status? Then, we, the Red Sun Organization, must do our best!"

"That status will belong to our Golden Fangs Organization!"

"Hehe! This is a golden opportunity to gain both money and status. We, the Bloodstone Company, must seize it!"

"Leader, that status must belong to us, the Phantom Enclave Gang!"

They were from small and mid-sized organizations, so they all aimed for a status because it would bring them numerous benefits such as fame, recognition, and money.

General Ethan smiled in satisfaction when he saw their spirit. "Good! Now prepare yourself! We will depart in an hour."

"Understood!" They stood straight and put fists on their chests in unison as if they were trained soldiers.

Meanwhile in Nightshire City, Scarlett was talking with her generals.

News of the Tuiziya Kingdom hiring a massive number of people had already reached their ears, so they knew that war was approaching their doorstep.

"Have all the soldiers from the mine returned?" Scarlett inquired.

"They all have returned, city mistress." Lieutenant General Luke responded, "We have also activated the barrier at the mine, so no one can sneak in or take it while we are focused on the Tuiziya Kingdom."

"Great!" Scarlett shifted her gaze to Brigadier General Zac. "Brigadier General Zac, evacuate all the young and elderly from our city. Use the hidden passage underground. It will lead them safely outside the city."

"Understood, city mistress." Brigadier General Zac gave a sharp salute before leaving her office to carry out the order.

"Major General Georgia, activate the defensive formation now," Scarlett was determined to have the city fully prepared for war, so she gave the order for the formation to be activated without delay.

"Understood, city mistress." Major General Georgia bowed slightly before leaving the office.

"General Viviana, Lieutenant General Luke, follow me." After saying that, Scarlett rose to her feet and walked out of her office, followed by General Viviana and General Luke.

As Scarlett was preparing for the war, General Ethan and the others soared toward Nightshire City aboard their flying warships.

Flying warships were classified into three categories: low-tier, medium-tier, and high-tier. Their fuel sources varied, from Mana Crystals, Spirit Stones, beast cores, and even life force.

The ones used by General Ethan and the others were only low-tier flying warships, and their fuel was beast cores.

"General Ethan, Bella and I will target Scarlett and Lexie once the war starts." Anna, who was on General Ethan’s left side, spoke abruptly. "They are Ren’s women."

General Ethan turned to her and asked, "Do you want to see him suffer?"

"Yes." Anna responded with anger flick in her eyes. "Please, don’t end his life immediately. I want to kill his women before his eyes, so he can suffer the same pain I’m feeling."

"Lady Anna, His Majesty wishes to capture them alive, so could you refrain from killing Scarlett during the war?" General Ethan could understand her hatred toward Ren because he would do the same if he were in her shoes.

However, King Aldric had given him specific orders to try and capture them alive first, so he had to ask her not to kill Scarlett in the war.

Anna didn’t answer his question and only stared at him, but from her expression, anyone could tell that she was unhappy with his request.

"They dared to defy the royal decree, kill your fiancée and the royal envoy, seize our cities, and disrespect His Majesty, so His Majesty also want to teach them a lesson." General Ethan explained the reason why King Aldric ordered him to try to capture them alive first.

He then continued, "Once His Majesty is done torturing them, you can request permission to kill them. I’m sure His Majesty will agree right away."

"...alright." After thinking for several seconds, she agreed because killing Lexie in front of his eyes would still give him immense pain.

General Ethan tapped her right shoulder and spoke, "After we complete our mission, let’s hold a proper memorial ceremony for your fiancée together."

"Un." Anna nodded.

Several hours later, they arrived at Nightshire City.

They didn’t jump off their flying warships immediately; instead, they remained there as it could also intimidate their enemies’ fighting spirit.

"Oh? A Rank 6 defensive formation?" General Ethan was startled when he saw the barrier enveloping Nightshire City because small cities normally didn’t have Rank 6 defensive formations.

’Interesting.’

Of course, he was not worried because he could destroy the rank 6 defensive formation with his magic.

"Hmph! Even with a rank 6 defensive formation, it won’t be enough to save their lives." Anna almost failed to control her emotions because her fiancée appeared in her mind when she looked at Nightshire City.

"It’s them! They have come!"

"Why are they still in their flying ships? Do they think they look cool just standing there?"

"Hmf! So what if they have flying warships! We will still win the war!"

"You are damn right, brother! And after we kill them, let’s take these flying ships!"

"That’s a brilliant idea, brother!"

"Damn right! Haha."

There were three reasons why the citizens still acted normally.

First, their enemies were fewer in number. Second, they had won the previous two wars. And lastly, they had Ren and Scarlett.

With both of them guarding the city, they believed they would win the war just like the last time.

As Ren was checking the enemy’s strength, his expression darkened.

’5-star mage?’

Scarlett had told him that the Tuiziya Kingdom had three 5-star mages and four Unity-rank warriors, but he didn’t expect them to send a 5-star mage to lead the army.

’Will Moon Rising Over the Sea skill be enough to kill him?’

As a question popped up in his mind, a series of notifications appeared.

[Ding! Nothing is impossible. Kill the enemy commander and Host will be rewarded with 10,000 points, 10,000 system exp and one random card.]

’I finally got some quests after a long time, but these missions are challenging.’
