Chapter 187: General Georgia Versus General Louis

’How could such a perfect man exist in this world?’

She had seen many handsome men before, but compared to Ren, they were nothing.

It was like comparing ordinary stones on the road to a flawless, rare diamond.

’Is he an angel who descended from the highest heavens?’

Due to how attractive he was, her heart beat faster, and she could not take her eyes off him.

’Look at his eyes! They are as beautiful as the night sky!’

Her gaze slowly fell on his shoulders.

’His shoulders are so broad and sturdy, too! It must feel incredibly safe and comforting to lean on them!’

The longer she looked at him, the more she wanted him.

Sure, it was not the first time she wanted a man, but it was her first time feeling such an intense and uncontrollable desire like this.

For the first time in her life, she felt like she had fallen in love at first sight because Ren was so charming and attractive.

’I want him! I must get him!’

She could not control her desire anymore, so she wanted to make him hers immediately.

However, she was stopped by Xander when she was about to approach him.

They were rivals, so he didn’t want her to seduce Ren in front of everyone.

"What is the meaning of your actions, Xander?" even though she was hired by him, she showed no respect toward him because he dared to stop her from approaching Ren.

"Lady Diana, I will help you get him later, but please focus on the duel for now." Xander was not angry with her rude behavior.

As long as he could seize the Mana Crystals mine, he was willing to tolerate her rudeness.

Diana stared at Ren before returning his attention to Xander.

"I want him today!" Her expression and the tone of her voice showed that she would not take no for an answer.

"Don’t worry. As long as you win, you will get anything you want, including him." Xander planned to capture Ren once the duel was over.

He didn’t care where Ren was from because he was not afraid of Scarlett or Nightshire City.

"Handsome young man, just wait a little longer. I will take you to my place and devour you in my chamber." She licked her lower lip as she stared at Ren.

Her eyes burned with hunger and desire, imagining all the things she could do to him in bed.

Shortly after that, they headed to the arena.

The arena was circular, with tiered stone seating arranged in a perfect circle around the battle ring.

There were four staircases leading up to the seating area, and the outer edges of the arena were lined with stone railings and decorative pillars, giving it an ancient and mystical feel.

Once they stepped into the arena, the lords of the three cities gathered to discuss the format of the duel.

Moments later, they reached a decision.

The format of the duel was that each group could issue a challenge once per turn, taking turns in rotation.

The last one standing in the arena would be declared the victor. Xander and Joshua chose this battle format because it worked to their advantage.

After deciding the turn through a random draw, Joshua spoke, "My group will go first and choose an opponent. After that, Xander’s group will take their turn, followed by Nightshire City’s group."

"Alright!" Xander uttered.

Scarlett didn’t say anything and immediately returned to where the Nightshire City group was.

When Ren saw Scarlett sitting with a displeased expression, he spoke softly, "Don’t worry. We will win this duel, and the mine will remain ours."

She turned to him and nodded her head. "Un. I believe in you."

"General Louis, go to the arena and challenge them." Joshua ordered.

"Understood, city lord." General Louis rose to his feet and stepped into the arena.

’Who should I challenge?’

He stood in the battle zone and stared at the Nightshire City group.

"I knew it! I knew he would target our team!" Lieutenant Lewis said angrily.

"City mistress, the preparations are complete." Captain Alice said in a low voice. "If things get out of hand, we can immediately activate the Defense formation."

"Good!" Scarlett ordered her subordinates to set up a formation right after reaching Mana Crystals mine.

If an unforeseen situation arose, they could activate the formation immediately, enveloping the mine with a barrier.

With this, the people of Icria City and Nafield City would never be able to take the mine from them because only Transcendent rank warriors or 6-star mages could break the barrier.

No!

It was not like she didn’t believe in Ren completely.

Mana Crystal mine was so valuable, so she just wanted to make sure the mine wouldn’t slip out of their hands.

In other words, it was her backup plan.

"Go back and guard the mine," Scarlett responded in a low voice, "Activate the formation only if I give the signal."

"Understood." Captain Alice left the arena and returned to the mine immediately.

"You!" General Louis pointed his finger at Major General Georgia. "Get into the arena now! I challenge you to a duel!"

"Go and defeat him!" Scarlett uttered.

"Understood, city mistress." Major General Georgia leaped onto the battle ring.

"Crush him, general Georgia!"

"Show him how powerful we are, general Georgia!"

"General Georgia, show him that the women of our city are strong!"

"General Louis, don’t beat her too hard. It would be pity if her pretty face gets injured."

"The fuck dude! Don’t listen to him, general Louis! Beat her up to death!"

"Yeah! She is our enemy, so no need to show mercy!"

The soldiers of Nightshire City cheered for General Georgia while the people of Nafield City roared in support of General Louis.

Despite the aggressive words from their people, Scarlett and Joshua showed no reaction, as if they had heard nothing.

"You heard that? My subordinates want me to beat you up," General Louis said as he retrieved his staff from his space ring. "But don’t worry, I won’t kill you in this duel. I will only cripple you."

General Georgia said nothing and retrieved her staff, ready to attack him.

"Woman, prepare to be burned!" right after General Louis thrust his staff forward, a sphere of blue flame materialized.

At first, the fireball was only the size of a soccer ball, but it expanded rapidly within seconds.

As the fireball grew to two meters in diameter, scorching waves of heat rippled through the arena, making the air thick and oppressive.

When the massive fireball flew toward General Georgia, a shadow emerged from her magic circle, wrapping around her like a protective sphere and shielding her from the flames.

The shadow shield didn’t only block his attack, but it also absorbed it, causing the fireball to shrink rapidly before finally vanishing completely.

’Tiger Shadow!’

The swirling protective sphere transformed into two big tigers and rushed toward General Louis.

However, her magic could not injure General Louis as he used Earth Spikes magic to destroy the shadow tigers.

The fight between two powerful mages was so intense.

The battle ring cracked, and several pit holes formed.

Joshua’s subordinates even needed to create a strong barrier around the arena because their attacks could injure the audience.

General Georgia raised her staff and used one of her strongest magic. "Grim Reaper!"

A grim reaper materialized from General Louis’ shadow.

It was three meters tall, and its eyes glowed red.

General Louis had yet to notice it as it loomed silently behind him.

"General Louis, behind you!"

"General Louis, danger!"

"Quickly move from that place!"

"Hurry up and use shield magic!"

The soldiers of Nafield City warned him of the danger that lay behind him.

But when General Louis turned his head back, the grim reaper had already swung his scythe.

’No!’

He had no time to use shield magic, so he could only widen his eyes.

Bang!

He was thrown into mid-air before finally crashing against the barrier.

General Georgia showed no mercy and launched another attack.

Now, two shadow tigers and one grim reaper attacked General Louis with relentless fury.

The shadow tigers bit his arms while the grim reaper attacked his chest.

General Louis screamed in pain, but General Georgia didn’t stop attacking him because he hadn’t admitted defeat yet.

’Cripple him!’

He wanted to cripple her, so she decided to do the same.

"STOP!" Joshua rose to his feet and shouted, trying to save his subordinate. "You have won the fight, so stop now! Don’t attack him anymore!"

General Georgia turned toward him without saying a single word. She didn’t dispel her magic immediately because he wasn’t her supervisor.

"City mistress, tell her to stop now! You win this round." General Georgia ignored him, so he turned to Scarlett.

"He didn’t say anything until now." Scarlett didn’t care what would happen to General Louis because they had been enemies from the beginning.

"Grrr..." Joshua gritted his teeth in anger, "General Louis, surrender now!"

"I surr-" before General Louis had finished his word, the grim reaper gripped his mouth, silencing him.

’Mmmm...’

Tears of pain welled in his eyes as the tiger ripped off his arms.

General Georgia didn’t want him to reattach his arms, so she ordered the Grim Reaper to destroy it.

"You!" Joshua’s face turned red with anger.

General Louis was one of his strongest subordinates, so he could not suppress his anger when his life as a mage was over.

After crippling General Louis, General Georgia dispelled her magic. "You are lucky we are in a duel. Otherwise, you would be dead by now."
