Transmigrated Into the World of Magic and Swords-Chapter 174: A Hidden Door in a Cave
Chapter 174: A Hidden Door in a Cave
"What the fuck are you doing?!" Captain Elias and Captain Reid roared in fury when they saw what their subordinates were doing.
They had risked their lives to clear a path for them to escape, but instead of seizing the opportunity, these fools were wasting time fighting each other like brainless idiots.
They understood the longstanding hatred between the two cities, but it was not the right time to fight.
Survival should have been their sole priority because every second could determine whether they lived or died.
"You are lucky this time, Icria bastard!" Lieutenant Bryce sneered before resuming his escape.
"That should be my line, you son of a bitch!" Lieutenant Callen retorted, but he quickly followed suit as the White Gorillas closed in.
"We will kill you after this!"
"Kill us? Don’t make me laugh! You will be the ones begging for your lives!"
"You think you are stronger than us?"
"Isn’t that obvious, dumbass?"
The soldiers bickered fiercely as they ran side by side, escaping together despite their hostility.
Captain Reid, who was trailing behind them, gritted his teeth in frustration. "Shut the fuck up and focus on running! If you idiots want to die so ba-"
He stopped his words halfway when he noticed a boulder hurtling toward them.
’Fuck!’
He stopped running, turned around, and lifted his staff.
’Metal Shield.’
A thick, gleaming metal shield materialized in mid-air.
When the boulder crashed into the metal shield, a deafening clang rang out, shaking the ground with its impact.
At first, he wanted to counterattack, but he quickly changed his mind when he noticed Captain Alice and Captain Elias fleeing with their subordinates.
’You think I’m your goddamn meat shield?’
A pair of wind wings formed on his back, propelling him forward as he swiftly caught up to them.
"Hey, Icria dog, use your Metal Wall magic to slow them down." Captain Elias gave an order as if Captain Reid were his subordinate.
"Do it yourself, you piece of shit! Do you think I’m your subordinate that you can order around as you please?" Captain Reid refused without thinking twice.
"Hey, Icria asshole, you are a mage, so do your damn job." Captain Alice also wanted Captain Reid to slow down the White Gorillas with his magic.
Captain Reid turned to Captain Alice and yelled angrily, "Oh? Since when was it the mage’s job to clean up after trash like you? If you are so desperate, why don’t you sacrifice yourself instead?"
Alice spat on the ground. "Tch. Useless."
"Humans! Stop running like cowards and face us like true warriors!" Zargath’s voice thundered with contempt, each word meant to pierce their pride and lure them into a doomed battle.
"I’m a mage, not a warrior!" Captain Reid snapped. "If you are looking for a fight, challenge those useless bastards from Nafield City and Nightshire City instead!"
"Haha! What a joke!" Captain Elias laughed mockingly. "You call us cowards, yet you are ganging up on us? So, tell me, who is the real coward? You or us?"
"I don’t mind fighting you, but it should be one-on-one, not twenty-five against one." Captain Alice added.
Zargath and his underlings roared angrily upon hearing their answer because their words were sharp like knives.
The White Gorillas threw anything they saw, hoping it could stop or slow down Captain Alice and the others.
But instead of getting closer, the distance between them only grew farther.
None of their throws had even managed to hit Captain Alice and the others as if they tried to hit mosquitoes, not human beings.
After several minutes of relentless pursuit, the White Gorillas could no longer find any trace of them, causing Zargath to roar angrily.
"These humans are very agile like cheetahs." The White Gorilla behind Zargath stated.
Zargath gritted his teeth before finally turning around, "Let’s go back."
They had lost track of Captain Alice and the others, so he decided to call off the chase because it would only waste their time.
"Alright." The other gorillas followed his order because he was their leader.
As the White Gorillas returned to their territory, Captain Reid and the others stepped into a huge cave.
Even though they hated each other to the bone, they remained together.
Of course, they kept exchanging insults like before because they were unwilling to let go of their grudge.
"Those damn gorillas finally stopped chasing us."
"We are finally safe."
"Those damn gorillas... just wait until I return. I will bring many people and hunt them down."
"Yeah! I will take my revenge later."
They formed three separate groups as they sat on the ground, each consisting of people from the same city.
"I’m thirsty." A blue-haired man named Magnus rose to his feet and approached the pool near them.
Shortly after that, a soldier from Icria City named Zane approached the pool, too.
"Ahh... This water is so fresh!" Magnus stated.
’Hmm?’
He turned his head when he noticed that Zane was taking off his leather boots.
"Hey, Icria bastard, what are you doing?" Magnus inquired.
"My body is covered in sweat after running for several minutes. I want to take a bath in this pool," Zane gave an honest answer.
"Take a bath? You fool! This water is for drinking. How could you even think of bathing in it?" Magnus tried to stop Zane from entering the pool.
"For drinking? I don’t see any rule written here. If you want to drink, then just drink. I only want to take a bath," Zane didn’t want to change his mind because he felt uncomfortable with the sweat soaking his body.
Magnus stood before Zane and spoke, "No! I forbid you from entering the pool! Do you think I want to drink water that you’ve bathed in?"
Zane was enraged when Magrus tried to stop him again. "Hey, you piece of shit! This pool belongs to no one, so you have no right to stop me."
"Asshole, do you think you are alone in this cave? Everyone else is also exhausted from running. Do you really expect them to drink water after you’ve bathed in it?" Magnus raised his voice when Zane stubbornly insisted on bathing in the pool.
Zane rose to his feet and said angrily, "Yes. I want them to drink water I’ve bathed in! What?! You have a problem with that, you piece of shit?"
"It looks like I need to beat you up first to make you come to your senses." Magnus retrieved his sword from his space ring, ready to fight.
Zane also retrieved his sword from his space ring. "Come here! My hands have been itching to beat you up since earlier."
"Die, you Icria dog!" Magnus roared as he unleashed his fury with a swing of his sword.
*Cling...Clang...Cling...
The sounds of swords clashing reverberated throughout the cave. freeweɓnøvel.com
The other soldiers from Icria City and Nafield City didn’t stop them; instead, they cheered them on because they hated each other deeply.
"Magnus, beat up that Icria dog until even his mom can’t recognize him!"
"Zane, make that Nafield City bastard beg for mercy!"
"Magnus, show them how strong the soldiers of Nafield City are."
"Powerful? Ptui! You are only as strong as a chicken, yet you dare to act mightily. People from Nafield City are really something. Haha."
"You bastard! How dare you underestimate my city! Die!"
"Come here! I will show you how weak you are!"
"Kill them!"
"Kill them!"
A fight that started between just two people quickly escalated into a battle between the two cities once again.
At this moment, people from Nightshire City watched the fight while talking and laughing.
They cheered for both sides because they hoped the people from Nafield City and Icria City would die together.
As they fought fiercely, one of them unknowingly opened a hidden door. They instantly stopped fighting when the sound of the hidden door opening echoed throughout the cave.
Not only them, but people from Nightshire City also turned their heads because they were also curious about the hidden door.
"A hidden door?"
"I’ve been to this cave many times, but I never knew there was a hidden door here."
"Does that mean there is treasure in this cave?"
"It seems so."
One by one, they approached the tunnel.
They were no longer interested in continuing the fight because the hidden door had taken up all their attention.
"Captain Elias, should we explore this tunnel?" Lieutenant Callen inquired.
"Of course!" Captain Elias answered instantly. "That hidden door was not built for nothing. I’m sure there is a treasure inside."
"Treasure..." Magnus’ eyes shone brightly because he loved treasure so much.
"Let’s go in." Captain Elias was eager to uncover what lay inside, so he decided to explore it right away.
"Let’s go in too." Captain Reid would not let the soldiers from Nafield City take the treasure, so he entered the tunnel without hesitation.
"What are you standing there for?" Captain Alice said. "Let’s move immediately! We can’t let these dogs from Nafield City and Icria City take the treasure."
"You are right, captain. The treasure should be ours." After saying that, her subordinates followed her from behind.
As they stepped into the tunnel, the torches hanging on the walls ignited one by one as if it was welcoming them.
"Hey, watch your step carefully. My instincts tell me this passage has a lot of tra-" Before Magnus could finish his sentence, he stepped into a trap.
’Shit!’
He cursed venomously in his heart.
A giant metal arrow suddenly shot down from the ceiling, hurtling toward them at incredible speed.
"Fuck!" they shouted when they saw the giant arrow.
