Chapter 144: Newcomers

Valmira and Ardentis didn’t answer Ren’s question and only gritted their teeth.

They didn’t want to face his terrifying skill again, but they would not say it because it would ruin the honor and pride of their races.

"Everyone, get onto the platform steps. Let’s head to the Moon God Temple now." They didn’t answer his question, so Ren took it as they didn’t want to continue fighting.

"Brothers, sisters, let’s head to the temple now."

"We can finally go to the temple."

"I’m really excited right now."

"Me too."

"Let’s hope we can get many valuable things later."

"Yeah! Let’s hope the goddess of luck is on our side today."

All awakeners made their way up the platform stairs with happy faces.

When they walked past Ardentis and his group, some of them couldn’t resist smirking or wearing smug expressions.

Ardentis and the others tried to stop them from entering the temple earlier, so they reveled in their small victory by mocking them as they ascended.

Even though Ardentis and his group were enraged, they could only suppress their anger and stared at them because they couldn’t do anything to them at that time.

After Ren and his group walked past them, Valmira asked, "Brother Ardentis, what should we do now? Should we follow them immediately? Or should we wait for our elder brother and sister first?"

"Let’s wait for our elder brother and sister first." Their lives could be in danger if they followed them immediately, so Ardentis suggested they wait for their elder sister and brother first.

"Alright." Vamira agreed instantly.

At the same time, Ren and his group were in front of the huge, tall door. The color of the door was white, and it was engraved with fantastic carvings.

As they stepped through the door, the world outside seemed to vanish.

The once bright, sunlit sky was replaced by a soft twilight glow, casting everything in an ethereal light.

The expression of deep shock blossomed on their faces after they entered the temple because what they saw was not a huge or luxurious hall, but a vast garden.

The ground was covered with luminescent moss and strange plants with glowing petals swayed gently despite there being no wind.

In the distance, crystals of silver and gold hung from ancient trees, casting delicate light that danced across the leaves.

Ren and the others could not help but amazed by the scenery before them because it felt unreal for the garden to be so beautiful.

’What is this? We are not in the hall, but a garden?’

They felt like they had entered a small world because the atmosphere was completely different from the one outside.

"Whoa! There are so many magical herbs in this place!"

"Is this a garden?"

"Hey look! It’s Ice Moon herb."

"Hey, there is Netherbloom Orchid over there."

"There is also Starfire Lily in this garden."

"Wow! There are so many rare herbs in this garden."

"Let’s pick them up!"

"Yeah. Let’s take them immediately."

One by one, they took the magical herbs.

As everyone was busy picking up the herbs, a red-haired young man named Adrian approached Ren.

"Brother, I got Twilight Aster. You will get night vision for one hour after consuming this." Adrian explained the uses of Twilight Aster. "Here, brother, take it."

He decided to give one of his best magical herbs to Ren because he could enter the temple thanks to him.

The other awakeners stopped picking up herbs when they noticed what Adrian was doing.

"Brother, I also got Thunderleaf herb. You can take it, brother."

"Broth...brother, I...I got Shadowbloom Orchid. You...you can take this herb."

"Brother, this Radiant Solfern herb is good for your health. It can also boast healing speed. I got two, so I will give you one."

One by one, they gave him an herb.

Ren was startled when they suddenly surrounded him and gave him one of their rare herbs.

"Everyone, I appreciate your feelings, but you can keep your herbs. No need to give it to me." Ren refused because he didn’t care about herbs.

"Really?" a brown-haired man inquired.

"Yes." Ren responded, "Just keep what you get. Whatever you get, it belongs to you."

"Wow! You are amazing, brother! Not only did you restore the pride and honor of our race, but you also didn’t expect anything in return. Brother, are you an angel?"

"Of course, our brother is an angel! Don’t you see how attractive and kind he is?"

"Yes, yes. He is an angel."

Since Ren didn’t want their rare herbs, they stopped giving him and took the herbs again.

"Scarlett, Lexie, here." Ren gave his rare herbs to them because he didn’t want it.

"You don’t want them?" Lexie inquired.

"No." he shook his head.

Lexie and Scarlett didn’t hold back and took his rare herbs.

As they were picking up magical herbs on the first floor, twenty magical beasts in demi-human form stepped onto the platform steps.

The leaders of these two groups looked exactly like Ardentis and Vamira. The difference was that they had different hair colors and were more mature than them.

The names of these people were Asher and Elara, Ardentis’ elder brother and Vamira’s elder sister.

Asher and Elara stopped their works when Ardentis and Vamira shared the location of the Moon God Temple to them because they also wanted the Moon God’s inheritance.

"Hmm?" Asher was shocked when he saw their numbers because Ardentis and Vamira brought twenty underlings with them.

"It’s my brother! They have arrived!" Ardentis was delighted when he saw his brother and his subordinates because their back up had arrived.

After he was in front of them, Asher threw many questions at once, "What’s going on? Why are there only a few of you? Didn’t each of you bring twenty people? Where are the rest?"

"Did something happen earlier?" Elara, who was next to Asher, inquired.

"Elder sister, someone from human race bullied us." Vamira responded while wearing a sad face, "He also killed half of our subordinates."

"Someone from human race? Who is that person?" Despite losing twenty people, Asher still acted normally, as if their lives meant nothing to him.

"We don’t know who he is, brother." Ardentis shook his head. "Previously, everything was under our control, but the tables turned when that person appeared."

"Yeah." Vamira added. "That person is powerful and has a terrifying skill. Our subordinates died because they protected us from his attack."

"Powerful skill? How strong is he?" Elara inquired.

"He is at 3-star like us, but his skill can make us tremble in fear." Vamira said they also used their seals to stop his attack, but it failed.

"Terror? Fear? Our seals couldn’t stop his attack?" Asher suddenly thought of something. "A Divine class skill!"

Asher believed Ren used a Divine class skill because their spirit beasts would not lose if it was against a Supreme class skill.

"Then, it’s normal if you can’t stop him." Elara knew how powerful a Divine class skill was, so she didn’t blame them for not being able to stop them. "Where are they now?"

"They have entered the temple." Vamira said as she pointed her right index finger at the temple above them.

"Alright. Let’s enter the temple too." Asher wanted them to enter the temple immediately because he didn’t want to lose the Moon God’s inheritance.

As they jumped from one platform step to another, Ardentis asked, "Elder brother, are we going to take revenge later?"

"Of course!" Asher responded instantly. "He has killed our people, so he has to pay the price."

"But he has a terrifying skill." Ardentis uttered.

"Have you forgotten that your elder brother has also mastered a Divine class skill?" Asher also had mastered a Divine class skill, so he was not afraid of Ren.

"Ah, right. I forgot." Ardentis had momentarily forgotten his brother’s mastery of their family’s Divine skill. "Then, can you let me do the finishing blow later?"

Instead of answering his question immediately, Asher asked, "Why? Did he humiliate you earlier?"

"Yes. Not only once, but he humiliated me many times earlier." Ardentis’ eyes filled with anger when he remembered how Ren humiliated him.

"Sure." Asher agreed instantly after seeing his expression.

"Great!" Ardentis was pleased because he really wanted to take revenge on Ren.

"Let’s speed up. They will take all the treasure if we come late." After saying that, Asher moved faster.

"Alright." Ardentis responded before finally speeding up, too.

As they reached the top, Ren and the others had taken all the magical herbs on the first floor.

They didn’t leave a single herb behind because magic potions could be sold at high prices, especially the rare ones.

"We have taken all the herbs. Shall we go to the second floor now?"

"Yeah. Let’s go to the second floor immediately."

"I agree."

When they were about to go to the teleportation gate, Asher and the others entered the first floor.

All awakeners immediately turned around when they noticed them.

"It’s them!"

"Oh? I thought they left this place after getting beaten up by brother Ren."

"I think so too."

"Why did they come into this temple? Do they want to get beaten again?"

"Hey, look! They have many new people in their group."

"I see. So, their back up has arrived. No wonder they dare to enter the temple."

They noticed Asher and the others.

Even though Asher and Elara had not revealed their identities, they knew who they were because they looked exactly like Ardentis and Vamira.

"Brother, it’s him! He is the one who killed our subordinates." Ardentis pointed his right index finger at Ren when he caught sight of him.
