Chapter 142: Fight on the Platform Steps

Ardentis came to his senses when Ren mocked him again. "Human, I admit you are strong, but that doesn’t mean you can run your mouth as you please. Do you think you are invincible just because you killed one of my subordinates?"

Even though Ren could kill his subordinate in a second, it was not enough to strike fear into him.

After all, he could accomplish the same feat if his opponent was like his underling. He was shocked because Ren was stronger than he thought, nothing more than that.

"I’ve never considered myself invincible, but one thing I know is that I won’t lose against any of you." Ren had checked their strength so he could tell how strong they were.

"You!" all the magical beasts were furious with his words, including people from the Flame Chicken race.

"Nice words, brother!"

"Brother, that was so cool!"

"Look at their faces! It’s hilarious!"

"Yeah! I can’t stop laughing! Haha."

"Haha."

The mood of the awakeners lifted.

Not only had Ren restored the dignity and honor of the human race, but he mocked all magical beasts, too.

At this moment, they were glad Ren was with them because they no longer had to endure Ardentis’ humiliation.

"Human, what makes you think you can defeat us? Do you truly believe I am as weak as my pathetic subordinate?" Ardentis sneered.

"You are not weak," Ren answered. "But you are still not a match for me."

Ardentis was breathless with anger because he really hated it when someone underestimated him, especially when they were from the human race.

"Why are you looking at me like that? If you have a problem with what I said, fight me and prove me wrong." Ren’s voice dripped with mockery, effortlessly mirroring Ardentis’ humiliation technique to belittle him.

"Haha." The awakeners behind him couldn’t hold back themselves and burst into laughter at the audacity of Ren’s taunt, enjoying the way he twisted the method to degrade Ardentis.

"Hehe." Lexie covered her mouth and giggled softly.

’Turning his opponent’s own humiliation tactic against him... he is so ruthless!’

Even though she said that in her mind, a part of her couldn’t help but feel a sense of admiration for how Ren had turned the tables so effortlessly because not everyone could do the same.

"Nice one, Ren!" Scarlett praised him.

"Human, you have successfully angered me." Ardentis had lost in the battle of words, so he wanted to attack Ren.

However, two of his subordinates attacked Ren first because they also could not suppress their anger.

"Human, you have insulted us. You must pay the price with your life!" the purple-haired man roared as he raised his axe.

"Die, human!" the white-haired man said.

And the same thing happened again.

Ren disappeared from their sight when their weapons were about to land on his body.

’Where is he?’

They turned around and looked for him.

At that moment, Ren’s cold voice rang out from behind them. "I was talking with your leader just now. What gives you the right to interrupt our conversation?"

They turned their heads toward him and were ready to attack him again.

"Die, hum-" before they had finished their words, their heads flew into the air, separated from their bodies.

Ren didn’t catch their heads like what he did before; instead, he kicked them hard, causing it to crash on the rock mountain and making a loud bang.

Boom!

Their heads were stuck in the mountain, and their blood was dripping from their necks.

All awakeners behind him opened their mouths in shock because they didn’t expect him to do that.

’That is brutal, but I like it!’

They returned their attention to him and praised his actions.

Some of them even gave him a thumbs up because they really liked what he did to these magical beasts.

"Your underlings disturbed our conversation, so I taught them a lesson in your place. I hope you don’t mind it." Ren’s tone was light and casual, "Where were we in our conversation?"

"You lowly human!" Ardentis felt like Ren was humiliating their race because Ren had stuck the heads of his two subordinates on the mountain.

"Lowly human? Haha." Ren couldn’t help but burst into waves of laughter.

"Why are you laughing?" confusion and anger mixed in Ardentis’ voice.

"I’m laughing because it’s ridiculous to hear that from you." Ren’s tone was light, as if he were talking about something trivial.

"What do you mean by that?" Ardentis asked coldly.

"You are from the Water Snake race, a lower-class race, yet you are acting like someone from a high-class race. You even called me lowly human. Don’t you think it’s funny? After all, human race is a middle-class race." Ren told Ardentis the reason why he was laughing after hearing his words.

"Water Snake race?" Ardentis trembled with rage. "How dare you say I’m from the Water Snake race! I’m from the mighty Dragon race, not the Water Snake race!"

"Dragon race? Haha." Ren forgot to maintain his cool image again and laughed loudly.

"You, lowly human! Stop laughing!" Valmira could not remain silent and decided to help Ardentis. "Brother Ardentis is indeed from the Dragon race, not the Water Snake race!"

Ren shifted his gaze to Valmira and spoke, "Chicken girl, are you blind? He is clearly from the Water Snack race. Why did you say he was from the Dragon race?"

"Chicken girl? Did you just say chicken girl?" Valmira’s body trembled with rage because Ren dared to say she was a chicken girl.

"Why are you angry?" Ren pretended as if he didn’t know why she was furious. "You are from the Flame Chicken race, so it isn’t wrong to call you chicken girl because you are from the Chicken race."

"Lowly human, I’m from the Phoenix race, not the Flame Chicken race!" Valmira roared angrily.

Ren turned his head toward the awakeners behind him and asked, "Do any of you have a mirror? It seems like they have never seen themselves in a mirror before, so they think they are from the Dragon and Phoenix races."

"I have a mirror. I happened to buy it before coming to this place." A green-haired man retrieved a hand mirror from his space ring before finally throwing it at Ardentis and Valmira. "Hey, you can use my mirror. Don’t worry. I won’t charge you. You can even take it if you like it."

Ardentis and Valmira gritted their teeth as they looked at the mirror on the ground.

"Why are you only staring at it?" Ren inquired, "Take the mirror and have a good look. See if you guys are really from the Dragon and the phoenix races, or just a water snake boy and a chicken girl."

"Go and see for yourself, so that you won’t be trapped in your delusions forever. Haha."

"Hey, don’t you think you are being too cruel? After all, everyone has the right to hope to become something, including them who wish to become a dragon and phoenix. Haha."

"Ops! My bad! Haha."

"Haha."

All awakeners laughed happily.

The presence of Ren in the Moon God Temple completely changed the situation.

Previously, the magical beasts kept humiliating them, and they could not do anything about it.

But everything was different now.

Not only was everything under their control, but they could even mock and humiliate magical beasts as they pleased.

Ren’s presence was like a lucky charm because he had restored the dignity and honor of human race, protected them, and given them happiness.

Ardentis, who heard their laughter, shifted his gaze toward them and clenched his fist angrily.

’Those lowly humans!’

They acted cowardly before Ren appeared, but now, they dared to mock and laugh at them.

’I need to teach them a lesson or else they will keep humiliating my race. But I need to take care of this annoying human first because he is the reason why they dare to laugh at us.’

With that idea in mind, Ardentis rushed toward Ren.

"Die, lowly human!" Ardentis jumped high and poured all his anger into his fist.

Ren stored his Aether Weapon in his space ring and took one step forward, ready to welcome Ardentis’ fist head-on.

Even though he specialized in swordsmanship, he was not afraid of a fistfight because he was confident in his strength.

Valmira’s lips curled up into a grin when she saw it.

’What a fool! Does he really believe he can match Ardentis in brute strength?’

She knew how incredible Ardentis’ raw power was, so she was sure Ren would soon regret his decision.

Like Valmira, Ardentis’ subordinates smirked as they watched the fight.

Ardentis had never lost a fight of brute strength before, so they believed their leader would not lose to Ren.

Boom!

The thunderous sounds echoed as their fists met. ƒreewebηoveℓ.com

Shockwaves spread throughout the battlefield and debris spiraled into the air.

When Valmira and the others thought Ren would be thrown into the sky, something shocking happened.

Ardentis was sent flying by Ren’s fist!

Even though Ardentis was not injured and could land safely on the platform steps, they were still shocked because it was different than they thought.

’Ardentis lost in a brute strength fight?’

Valmira felt a flash of irritation as she stared at Ren.

’That lowly human is stronger than I thought. This is annoying!’

She wanted to help Ardentis, but she changed her mind because ganging up on Ren would make them mock their races again.

"Damn it!" Ardentis’ eyes were bloodshot as he stared at Ren.

"Hey, did you finally realize that you are not from the Dragon race?" Ren inquired,
