Chapter 55: Chapter 55:Ten Shining Stars [4]
As I opened my eyes, the first thing that caught my attention was a massive and grand diamond chandelier that hung from the absurdly tall ceiling, almost quintuple my height.
The first floor contained no windows, so it relied entirely upon the soft glow of the luxurious chandelier for light.
Its lighting was quite similar to that of a bar.
The common room or lounging area of the Imperial dormitory was luxurious to say the least, resembling the lobby of a five-star hotel.
Countless sitting areas, furnished with leather couches, lounging chairs, and crystal-clear glass tables, appeared to my left and right.
The floor was mostly composed of a silky carpet with unstained and polished dark oak wood creating a path through the middle of the floor.
Despite the fact that only twenty people lived in the dorm, the furniture on the lobby floor alone could easily seat over thirty.
A couple of steps in front of me, and in the dead center of the building, a spiraling staircase stood, stretching all the way from the floor to the roof.
The interior building somewhat resembled a hourglass...
Unsurprisingly, the lobby floor was completely empty, as students were probably checking out their rooms or resting.
Just as I was about to head up the staircase to find my room, my body immediately halted, and a salty and savory scent drifted into my nose.
Like an owl locking onto its prey, my head immediately snapped in the direction of the smell, and there on the opposite wall lay a snack station.
With towers of crackers, mountains of cheese, heaps of cookies, and a salad bar, a makeshift buffet simply sat in the corner of the dorm building.
Thinking about how Raven should be scrambling to the Worldly dining hall right now to get a plate of food before they ran out, I chuckled and picked up some crackers.
Of course, I knew that my diet needed to massively improve in this world if I wanted to grow stronger and build muscle, but I was practically dying of hunger, having missed Liana’s breakfast.
Climbing the twisting staircase, I eagerly glanced downward at the lobby floor, attempting to find any more hidden secrets.
And thankfully, on the wall right behind me when I had entered, I found a piece of paper that read the following:
[Jett (Floor 2, Room 4) has entered]
Just as my gaze swept across the paper, the text suddenly disappeared, now leaving a blank piece of paper on the wall.
"...the Worldly dorm was never an option."
Somehow, someway, my news of enlightenment had reached the academy, and thus, they had configured the magic circles and that paper to recognize me.
It seemed that Daisy had managed to realize I was enlightened, simply from watching me travel through the capital city,
Walking past the first floor, I finally reached the second floor, already dreading having to walk up the curving staircase at night when all the lights were off.
It would be a miracle if I didn’t trip and fall to my death.
There were a total of five floors, with four rooms placed on the North, South, East, and West walls of each one.
Finding the East wall, I hesitated in front of my door for a moment before twisting open the doorknob.
Immediately, as the door cracked open, a long and thin hallway appeared in front of me, with a door leading to the bathroom on the right.
Walking through the thin hallway, I eventually reached the main area, which was square-shaped and to the right of the hallway.
A large queen-sized bed lay against the right-most and farthest wall from me, with two night desks on each side of it.
Directly in front of me lay a mini kitchen, with a makeshift microwave, stove, and a set of pans for me to cook, not that I would be doing any.
To the right of the kitchen area, there was a mini living room with two red couches facing each other and a glass table in the middle.
However, most attracting of all, a completely glass window replaced the wall directly facing me and the door, allowing me to see the entire academy from my room.
It was like I was in an aquarium, but the exhibit was Glaive Academy.
Immediately, I was thankful that I had been assigned the east dorm for my floor.
I could see all the academy buildings, the stone streets that connected them all, and even a sliver of the dark-blue ocean behind everything.
My bed was also placed horizontally parallel to the window, so I could wake up to the view of the beautiful academy.
Maybe...this dorm wasn’t so bad.
Gazing up at the bright-blue sky, devoid of any clouds, I sat down on the right-most couch and began feasting.
It wasn’t even evening yet...what should I do?
Though it was quite specific, I still clearly remembered the scene in the book of Evangel attempting to go to the training hall after the entrance ceremony, just to find it closed.
Somehow, this unimportant scene had left an impression on me.
Falling onto the soft mattress of my bed, I gazed up at the white ceiling above me, lost in my thoughts.
It felt as if I had just passed a major crossing road.
What would have happened if I had somehow stayed in the Worldly dormitory?
A couple of seconds later, my eyelids began to involuntarily close as they were simply too heavy to hold up, and my vision blurred.
It seemed that my sleep schedule was bound to be destroyed in both worlds.
The last thing I could clearly make out before losing consciousness was a clock, which hung on the wall opposite my bed.
Time...huh. That was probably my element, considering my gift’s description.
...
...
...
With my head tilted to the right on the marshmallow-like pillow of the bed, my eyelids suddenly flickered open despite the dead silence in the room.
Facing the massive glass window, I was surprised to see the sky now colored a slightly grey-orange color, as the light made its final stand against darkness in the sky. fгee𝑤ebɳoveɭ.cøm
After glancing at the clock across from me, which now read, "6:00," I reluctantly got up from my bed, feeling my stomach groan.
This Imperial dorm dormitory was just the start...I had yet to even check out our private dining hall, library, and classrooms!
