Chapter 53 - Welcome to Arcane Bloom

Chirp.

Chirp.

Chirp.

The morning air stirred gently with the rhythm of birdsong, like a lullaby too proud to whisper.

The sun had only just begun its climb, casting long golden rays over dew-kissed rooftops and cobblestone paths, breathing life into the waking town.

Mirrors was quiet as always, yet today, that quiet carried a peculiar edge.

A polished black carriage rolled into town, its presence regal and immediate.

Silver-tipped wheels clattered against stone, and violet banners fluttered from its sides—emblazoned with the emblem of Arcane Bloom Academy.

And like seeds to spring, students of magic began to gather.

Mages, young and eager, emerged from the town's many homes, each cloaked in enchanted robes of status, ready to return after a short seasonal break.

Laughter mingled with chatter as girls filed into the carriage, their wands tucked neatly into their belts, their eyes alight with anticipation.

Among them, the House of Jobson was present. Almost all of it.

Fiona and Tonya—two of the more seasoned students who had been granted time away—stood at the center of it all.

They weren't alone. Steve walked behind them, calmly, confidently, with a lazy grace that seemed misplaced amongst the crowd of female mages.

And that, precisely, is what stirred the commotion.

"A man? In the royal carriage?"

The village cracked open with murmurs, loud and accusing.

"What's he doing in there?"

"Did he commit a crime?"

"I bet he stole something! Maybe charmed someone's daughter..."

"Is that allowed now? Are they admitting men into the Academy?"

"No, no, no—impossible. He's just a servant."

Yet not one villager could admit the truth.

That Steve had awakened magic.

He didn't care for the whispers.

They might as well have been leaves blowing in the wind. His hands were tucked in his pants pockets, his pace steady as ever.

He followed behind Fiona and Tonya without a word, stepping smoothly into the carriage.

Inside, the seating was plush velvet, spell-sealed for comfort and silence. He took his place without hesitation—Tonya at his left, Fiona at his right.

All around him, the girls stared. Their gazes were filled with everything: shock, confusion, judgment... and fascination.

A man. Sitting with them. Equal to them.

Steve didn't flinch. He crossed one leg over the other, folded his arms, and closed his eyes.

Fiona stared straight ahead. Tonya's gaze flicked to the window.

Steve smiled subtly. The corners of his lips twitching with private satisfaction.

'Hehe...Two MILFs...' he thought.

'...conquered in less than a month. And now I'm headed to the most elite arcane academy in the empire. This is going to be a peak experience.'

He could feel Tonya tense beside him, her mind a chaotic swirl.

'God... my legs still ache from last night.' she thought, pressing her thighs closer together subconsciously.

'He was so big. So intense. I didn't even think I could feel this way...'

Her heart thudded.

'He said he loved me.' she reminded herself, biting her lower lip.

'He said I was his... and he was mine. Right?'

Her eyes flicked sideways. Steve's lips were curved in that same faint, knowing smile which instantly caused her breath to hitch.

'He's smiling... he's thinking of me.' she told herself, cheeks warming.

'He... He does love me.'

She turned away, face flushed pink, hiding the blooming grin on her lips.

The other girls, however, weren't quite as dreamy-eyed.

They whispered to one another behind gloved hands, exchanging glares and glances.

One girl, braver—or perhaps more prideful—than the rest, stood and narrowed her eyes at Steve.

She had sharp cheekbones and a confident scowl, like someone used to getting answers.

"Excuse me..." she said, her voice clipped.

"...What exactly are you doing here? This carriage is for magic students only."

Gasps followed her statement like ripples in a still pond. Several heads turned.

Even Fiona's brow twitched, but Steve didn't open his eyes. He waited a moment, then slowly raised his head, lazily flicking his gaze toward her.

His voice, when it came, was smooth and rich with amusement.

"Hmm. If you employed your thinking for just a moment..." he said.

"...what inference would you come to for why I'm here?"

The words were like cold wine—sharp and satisfying.

He turned his head away again, letting his eyelids droop as if nothing of consequence had happened.

The girl sat back in stunned silence. She got her answer. Everyone did.

Steve was a mage.

The rest of the ride passed in strained silence. Stolen glances. And the occasional flushed face.

When they arrived, the gate of Arcane Bloom loomed before them like the mouth of a great beast—ancient, majestic, and brimming with unseen power.

Tall marble towers spiraled toward the sky, draped in flowering vines and glowing runes.

Vast arenas, massive training grounds, enchanted lakes, libraries that shimmered with living pages... The academy stretched in every direction like a city of magic.

And yet, Steve's attention wandered elsewhere.

They were handed room assignments and schedules. Orientation was scheduled for tomorrow, so today was meant for settling in.

Steve took the small parchment handed to him and read it aloud under his breath: "Room 341."

He gave a slight nod, and then, he noted down Tonya and Fiona's room numbers just in case there was ever an emergency, and casually began to walk.

Students passed him in the halls—some glaring, some whispering—but he moved like he didn't notice, or more accurately, didn't care.

After turning down two grand corridors, climbing a spiral staircase, and walking past glowing lanterns, he found it.

Room 341.

The number was etched into a golden plaque beside the door, polished and glinting.

"Finally." he murmured.

"Time to crash."

He ran his hand over the woodgrain and exhaled. The day's journey, the eyes, the composure—it was all a little exhausting.

"Tomorrow..." he smirked to himself.

"maybe I'll start hunting for a fresh batch of MILFs."

The smile grew as his hand turned the handle.

He pushed the door open, a smirk playing at his lips. The hinges creaked softly, and the warm air of the room welcomed him like a whisper.

But then—he froze.

His eyes landed on it. A curve. No, a masterpiece.

A thick, mouthwatering ass sprawled across the floor — full and decadent. The curves were bold, unapologetically plush, the flesh so soft it seemed to ripple with the slightest movement.

steve blinked.

"...Huh."

A slow grin crept across his face.

'Well, well... guess tomorrow came early.'
