There's No Love In the Deathzone (BL)-Chapter 716: Side Story 3. Stellar Blossom - 51
Chapter 716: Side Story 3. Stellar Blossom - 51
For the first time after waking up, Han Joon visited the Far East district.
It was weird to see the place he always learned to be bleak and gloomy was gone, replaced with lush greenery and neat urban development. Weirder still, the ones who made it possible were the people he knew. For that alone, Radia decided to go using a helicopter instead of a portal.
Han Joon had a nice time looking at the landscape from above, before playing with Nari from the dock. Looking at them like that, it almost felt like nothing bad happened since the summer of last year. Unfortunately, the twins were at a different lake house on the other side of the Federation for their grandparents’ death anniversary.
But then again, they weren’t there to play anyway.
"Ahem," Han Shin cleared his throat as he stood before his daughter’s drawing wall. "My lady and the gentlemen..."
In front of him were two adult men sitting on the floor, with his little princess jumping excitedly on her uncle’s lap. "Yaaaay!" the little girl squealed while her uncle used her hands to clap. Clap clap clap!
Radia sighed at the whiteboard behind the overly excited parents. "Do we need to go this far?"
"Silence! Speaking is only allowed during Q&A sessions," Reina wiggled her finger, and his daughter laughed in response.
Radia rolled his eyes. Their daughter was definitely their copy. He started to regret asking this couple for advice.
"Then, let’s start the Dating Seminar for couples who want to feel young again," Han Shin clapped his hand once, and Han Joon clapped with Nari’s hands again. "Now--you have to keep in mind that people in their early twenties are different than...well, you."
"I’m still twenty," Han Joon raised Nari’s hand.
"I know, hyung--but you’ll follow what Radia wants to do anyway, so he’s the important one."
"Fair enough," Han Joon nodded. "But what’s the difference?"
Reina shrugged as she replied simply. "People in their early twenties just want to play."
The adults who had never played in their twenties tilted their heads in confusion. Han Shin and Reina sighed at the same time. Wow...they had to start from the basics.
"People in their early twenties are either still in college or just start working. Except for the very ambitious ones, they are transitioning kids who want to do the ’adult thing’ they think about when they’re still minors," Reina started.
"On the other hand, career people like you treated going on a date as either a chore or a way to escape your job," Han Shin chimed in.
"...huh."
"That’s why you just go to a nice dinner or stay at home."
"Huh..."
Radia blinked at the unexpected precise jab. Han Joon wouldn’t know, but...that was exactly what they had been doing in their married life. They would drive around sometimes, but that stopped after Joon’s lost his color perception. They talked about vacation, but right away, Joon fell into a coma.
And then Han Shin added. "Also, your energy level is low."
"Hey!"
"Except for se--" the words got cut by a hard clasp over his mouth and his wife’s glare. Han Shin cleared his throat and corrected himself with a grin. "Except for the...bed exercise."
Han Joon muttered cheekily while covering his niece’s ears. "Doesn’t need to be in bed."
"Oppa!"
Reina glared at the grinning brothers, before shaking her head and resuming the ’seminar’. "Anyway, going on a date in your twenties is to play and have fun," she said while her husband wrote a big, bold FUN on the white drawing wall. "Making it romantic is fine, but the most important thing is having fun and playing around, finding meaningful places with your partner, and making memories."
"Hmm..."
"But we know your fun senses are already fried, so we’ll be providing you with several ideas," Reina snapped her fingers.
Han Shin nodded with a sneer. "You’re welcome."
Again, Radia rolled his eyes and groaned. Should have just looked for stuff in the link.
"The first one!" ignoring Radia’s lament, Reina raised Nari’s magical girl’s wand. "The fun of all fun! You can’t spell fun without amusement parks!"
"Oh..."
Han Shin pointed his marker at his brother. "Hyung likes that, so it’s a yes!"
Radia turned his head. "You do?"
"I’m curious," Han Joon shrugged. "Never gone there when I was a child."
"Right," Radia nodded and easily agreed. Shin went to such places a lot while dating Reina, but Radia and Joon never properly went on a date because they didn’t want to get found out by Han Gyeong. "Let’s go there then."
"Ayi chuu!"
The little princess had no idea what the adults were talking about, but she understood ’amusement park’ enough.
"Yes, yes--we’ll go once you’re big enough, okay?" Han Shin patted his daughter, but the little princess pouted.
"Ayi igg!"
"No, no--you need to be this big," Han Shin shook his head and put his hand in front of his waist. "You can’t go on a ride when you’re still tiny, girl."
"Hmph!"
The little princess pouted and sulked on Han Joon’s lap, so the uncle patted her head and slipped in the same words he used to say to her father. "Eat well so you can be tall quickly."
"Mm!"
And like her father, the words worked somehow. Han Joon chuckled and asked with a smile. "What else?"
"The next one is a classic!" Reina waved her daughter’s magic wand again. The star-shaped end even glowed and let out holographic fireworks. "Cinema date!"
Radia frowned. "Do we need to go to a cinema to watch a movie? We can see it better in--"
"Upupupup! That’s what the elder says!"
Han Joon laughed as Radia pressed his lips from being called old.
"Go to the cinema and watch the movie like everybody else," Han Shin clicked his tongue. "Have it with some popcorn, some drinks, and some stolen kisses."
"Oh..." Radia blinked.
"See? You can’t get stolen kisses when you’re in private," Reina smirked smugly at the reaction.
"It’s the thrill, old man! The thrill," Han Shin whispered dramatically.
Honestly? Han Joon and Radia loved the idea. Not the movie per se--but the stolen kisses in the dark while they were in the middle of a crowd.
"Ugh--fine," Radia sighed. "What else?"
"Shopping is nice--you can make it a game of dressing each other in the mall," Reina winked. "Places like aquariums are popular spots too."
"Anything else?"
Han Shin snapped his finger. "Ah, once the flower blooms, you can have a picnic near the river."
"The river?"
"That spot with the dungeon break before," Han Shin explained. "Bas and Zein had a date there when it happened."
"Ah..."
"You can do a trip too, but do something else other than...bed exercise," Han Shin shrugged.
Han Joon curled his lips. "Doing it in a car is also--"
"Hyung!"
"Why? We’re just exercising," Han Joon shrugged, moving Nari’s arms up and down. "One, two, one, two..."
"An! Chuu! An! Chuuu!"
The uncle and niece duo laughed and giggled so brightly that the rest of the adults forgot about the censorship. It was such a beautiful scene that three commlinks immediately raised to snap a picture.
"Anyway, the point is to try doing it like normal citizens, okay?" Reina ended the seminar with a conclusion. "Don’t do it like twenty-year-old conglomerates."
"Fine," Radia leaned back and raised his hand. "Send me your recommended places."
Han Shin looked at his wife and sighed. "He’s already doing it like a twenty-year-old conglomerate, huh?"
* * *
Fortunately, Radia did not pull his conglomerate moves. He did not rent the amusement park for the whole day or the movie theater for their date. To avoid too much crowd, however, he had to take a day off on the weekday and took Han Joon to those places.
Honestly, it was hard for Radia to get excited about amusement parks. He went to those places a lot when he was a child, and since they went to the one made for civilians, an esper like him could barely be thrilled by the rides.
But Joon was thrilled. His eyes were wide and wandering at the burst of colors and crowds. He laughed at the silly mascots and held Radia’s hand all the time. They tried all kinds of stalls and ate unhealthy junk food.
Just for that constant smile and laugh, Radia would disregard his health forever.
Well, maybe not forever. But he certainly could for the movie theater, at least. With Reina’s suggestion, they decided to go for a drive and stopped at a random movie theater, before choosing a random movie to watch.
It was...quite fun. More fun than Radia initially thought. Of course, watching movies they selected carefully at home was more comfortable, but Reina and Shin were right about the thrill of their touching skin. He had no idea what caused it, because their skin touched all the time, but...
When their fingers touched in the dark, or when Han Joon suddenly planted a short kiss from time to time, Radia felt strong electricity traveling all over his body. It was too much to bear, and they ended up leaving the theater early to do...car exercise.
"Haa...damn," Han Joon chuckled while cleaning up the stain on the leather seat. "We should have done this a long time ago."
"Yeah..." Radia laughed in amusement. "Yeah, we should. It was perfect for a secret date."
"Should we go to the aquarium and cool off a bit?"
Radia laughed and nodded, so they soothed their mind by watching the fish swimming in the giant tank while talking about mundane things like how Zein turned his living room’s wall into a fish tank and how the giant sea serpent was basically the guide’s pet.
Han Joon asked about the reclamation process, the bits he couldn’t find in the link. They talked about how Bassena and Zein came to be, which Han Joon had no idea about, and it made Radia think about his memory.
"It’s been a while, but you haven’t regained the rest of your memory," Radia muttered as they stopped in front of a whale tank.
The last time, each stage lasted no more than a week, but it had been almost a month now. Han Joon still hadn’t progressed past his twenty-year-old memory.
"Hmm...probably because there’s no more shocking stuff happening in my life?" Han Joon shrugged.
"What about the time you finish your mission?"
"It’s just the end of the goal," Han Joon said. "It’s something I had been working for, so why would it shock me?"
"Hmm...true," Radia nodded.
Han Joon stroked his darling’s hand and tilted his head, asking with a smile. "Is it bad if I don’t remember the rest of it?"
The crimson eyes curled. "Rather than that," he leaned closer and whispered in Joon’s ear. "I’m glad it happened only after you came of age."
Han Joon laughed and kissed his darling while the whale passed slowly in front of them.
Yeah, it was good that they didn’t have to wait for another eleven years to be together.
