The Tale Of Kitsuna-Chapter 56
Chapter 56: Squad of Crazy Heads
βCommander, why didnβt you tell me that my new superior will be your daughter?β Brenda said, shaking my hand. Ζπeπweππ£ο½πππ.coπ’
βI was going to, but you interrupted me,β Dean said, a bit annoyed.
βDean, you sound like a pushover sometimes,β I said, making Mom laugh.
βItβs not like that. I just care about what my soldiers want to say,β Dean said, trying to defend himself.
βYeah, whatever. I was actually here to ask you something. Can you teach me about tactics and planning?β I said, looking at him.
βHuh? Your mother can do that too, you know.β
βI know that, but she isnβt the best at explaining things.β
βI see, that makes sense. We can do that, but I am a bit busy at the moment. We can start tomorrow.β
.....
βThat is fine. I was planning to get acquainted with my new squad anyways,β I said, looking back at the 3.
βOkay, I will finalize the paperwork then. Before I forget, you know about the reincarnation meeting that should have been at the end of this week.β
βYes, If I remember, it will happen here at the Draigs mansion. What about it?β I said, confused.
βYes, it would have, but Hugo canceled it. We moved it up to the banquet at the end of the month.β
βThat damn furry,β I said, annoyed.
βWhat is a furry?β Dean and Brenda ask.
βUhm, how to explain this. Itβs what we call people who dress up like humanoid animals with a lot of fur on them. They end up looking more like an animal than a humanoid, like me, though. If you are wondering if itβs a compliment, it is not.β I explain, shaking my head.
βI thought all demi-humans see them as kings?β Brenda commented.
βHuh, are you crazy? Do you think a demon fox will bow down to something like that?β I said, raising an eyebrow at her.
βSo no?β Brenda said.
βYes, no. It is only the demi-humans who donβt have the self-confidence that would bow down to them,β I explain.
βIs that true?β Brenda said, looking at Apricot.
βYes, it is mostly the demi-human who canβt defend themselves. For example, mouse-demis would follow them without question.β Apricot explains.
βOoh, sorry, it seems I have been misinterpreting their existence, maβam,β Brenda said, bowing.
βItβs fine. Now come, letβs go and have a talk.β I said, walking out of the office.
Walking out of the mansion, I looked at Brenda, confused.
βI thought you were a samurai?β I said, looking at her giant sword on her back.
βThat is right, maβam. I am just better with bigger Katanas than the small ones,β She said, touching the handle of her sword.
βI donβt think a 40 cm wide and 1,8 meters blade is a katana.β I thought, shaking my head.
βI see you got to show it to me later. Letβs go to the garden to talk.β I said, walking away again.
βYes, maβam.β All three of them said, following me.
βIf you guys call me maβam one more time, I will pull out your vocal cords,β I said, narrowing my eyes at them menacingly.
βWe will remember that commander.β They said gulping
βJust call me Kitsuna, for crying out loud. Hey, Apricot, why are you wearing your contacts again?β I ask while walking.
βYour mother said I should, so the word doesnβt get out about me.β She said.
βThat sounds about right. I will let Luna know to make you some blindfolds for your eyes.β I said.
βIs there something special about her eyes?β Brenda ask.
βYeah, you will see later,β I said, entering the garden. After walking for a while, I sat down on a patch of grass.
βSit down,β I said, patting the grass. Apricot followed without question while the other 2 hesitated for a second.
βOkay, now that everyone is here, we can do a proper introduction. We will go Name, position in squad, class, and weapon preference. I will start.β I said, sitting up cross-legged.
βMy name is Kitsuna Draig, and I will be the commander of this squad. I am only 13 years old, almost 14, and level 30, so I donβt have a class yet. I am a speed-type, and I donβt have a weapon preference.β I said, looking at them.
βYour only 13, and you donβt have a class,β Apricot said, surprised.
βYes, and I am not planning to get one in the near future,β I said, nodding.
βWhat do you mean you donβt have a weapon preference?β Brenda ask.
βI use a lot of different weapons in combat.β
βIs there a certain class you are going for then?β Brenda asks, tilting her head. ππ§πππΈπππoΞ½ππ.ππm
βI am, but that will stay a secrete for now,β I said.
βOkay. I guess itβs my turn,β Brenda said
βUn.β
βMy name is Brenda, no surname. I am a major in the black ops army. I am a samurai level 834. I am a strength type, and I use a bigger than normal Katana for combat.β Brenda said, tapping the sword next to her.
βCan I see your sword if you donβt mind?β I said, standing up.
βSure.β She said, handing her blade over.
Walking away from everyone a bit, I swung the blade around a few times.
βThat thing is a lot lighter than I thought it would be,β I said, giving back the blade and sat down again. Even though it is that big, it was the same weight my ice war hammer is, and I can swing that thing around like an oversize teddy bear.
βI am surprised you could swing it that many times.β
βIt is the same weight as my ice war hammer, so it was easy to swing around,β I explain, making one in my hand, showing her.
βHuh? How did you make that weapon appear?β Sirone asks, surprised.
βItβs one of my ability. I can create weapons out of my ice magic.β I said, smiling.
βI see. That is why you donβt have a weapon preference because you can make your own anytime.β Apricot said.
βYeah, thatβs good and all, but I am useless in a mid and long-range fight. Well, for the moment.β I said, shrugging.
βI see, but that doesnβt explain why you could swing my blade like that,β Brenda asks again.
βMy strength sits at 795 at the moment.β
βWhat a prodigy.β Brenda and Sirone said, amazed.
βNot really most reincarnation should be able to do that,β I said, shrugging.
βSeriously?β Brenda asks worriedly.
βYeah, but you donβt have to worry too much about it for now. Sirone, youβre next.β
βOkay, my name is Sirone. I am Brendaβs little sister. I am a level 569 healing sage. I have no experience in weaponry.β Sirone said, making me tilt my head.
βYeah, we will change that. You canβt go into a fight without any way to protect yourself.β
βBut she is a healer,β Brenda said.
βI am not going to have a healer on my team that cant protect themself. I would rather have my team go on missions without one then.β
βBut...β Brenda said with a worried expression.
βDonβt worried I will get her a gun or something so she can attack from range. We will also get her new combat clothes. I canβt have her look like a healer making her a target.β
βBut she looks so cute in her healing robes on,β Brenda said, pouting.
βYou think I look cute,β Sirone mumbled, blushing.
βOf course, you look super cute with your healing robes on,β Brenda said enthusiastically.
βOkay, can we move on? Apricot your turn and tell them everything.β I said, getting us back on track.
βMy name is Apricot. I am a slave of Kitsuna reason why is because I am an ex-federation soldier. I am not planning on betraying you as the federation abused and did things to me I will never forgive. I am a level 463 Puppeteer with Illusionistβs eyes. As a puppeteer, I donβt specialize in any weapon, but I can use wires to a good extent.β
βPFFF, Yeah, right, I bet... ugh,β Brenda said before finding an ice sword pointed against her throat.
βLook at her right ear,β I said, taking the sword back.
βWhy?β Brenda said, narrowing her eyes at me. Looking at Apricots head. Seeing her half-cut ear, she looked down in shame.
βThat is only the surface damage you can see but believe me. There is a lot more. Also, do remember this. I might be friendly and easy-going, but I am not naive.β I said, making the atmosphere even more gloomy.
βYou forgot to add crazy,β Apricot commented, making Brenda gasp.
.....
βAre you sure I did?β I said, grinning.
βWould a sane person force someone to take a bath in ice after knowing them for a couple of seconds?β Apricot said, hugging herself.
βWhat, but you were dirty. I just wanted you to be clean.β
βYou didnβt have to force me and through me into an ice bath,β Apricot said, annoyed?
βI did warn you, though,β I said with a small grin.
βA second before you dropped me into the bath does not count as a warning,β Apricot said, grounding her teeth, glaring at me.
βYou guys donβt seem to hate each other even though youβre her slave,β Sirone said, smiling.
βUn, of course, what isnβt to like about me,β I said, grinning.
βI can name quite a few.β Apricot commended.
βWell, back to more important things. We will start training together tomorrow before you say anything about your level, it wonβt be helpful. Your level wonβt help you guys in my training.β I said, giving the Stacy training smirk.
βWe are fucked.β Brenda mumbled.
