Chapter 96: 096: Is it a peach blossom debt? (Additional update for monthly ticket)
Qin Qin didn’t know what to say. He made it sound simple, but the process was definitely not that simple. His self-esteem was so high that his college girlfriend could be said to have ended because she hadn’t yet come into her own. But the second one blatantly cheated on him, and it was no surprise he couldn’t stand it.
"Didn’t you get into a fight?"
"I did. That guy ended up in the hospital for a week after I was done with him."
"That’s rough." Not sure if that was referencing his friend, him, or the girl.
"It was quite rough. After that, I met a few others here and there, but none of them felt right until I met you. That’s where I found peace." He said, giving her forehead a kiss.
Huh? Considering how he puts it, he doesn’t seem the type to attract romantic troubles. So what about that female ghost...
"You didn’t knock any woman up, did you?"
"How could I?" Song Weiming said, "If I had, given my looks and charm, would they let me go?"
Of course, what he didn’t mention was that since he had his first girlfriend, his uncles or cousins would pull him aside to specifically remind him—women can be fun, but don’t force anything, and don’t get anyone pregnant.
Moreover, one of his notorious uncles even taught him ways to prevent getting anyone pregnant or being framed for doing so, lest he attracts unsavory women.
Hearing how troublesome women could be, he naturally wasn’t interested. He thought a gun was more straightforward.
After starting work, he did date two girlfriends, but neither worked out in the end. It wasn’t until he met Qin Qin that he felt he wanted to settle down with someone he felt "a perfect match" with from the beginning, moving smoothly to happily together.
"So where did this female ghost come from? Isn’t it always in the movies that female ghosts look for revenge on heartless men?"
Song Weiming protested, "There are innocent victims of female ghosts too, you know?" He was innocent.
"Alright, alright, I know you’re innocent. It’s just that we have to figure out what’s really happening to prevent any future happenings. Also, I don’t want you constantly living in danger."

The on-location filming for the movie "Fahai Doesn’t Understand Love" was set in Man Sha Ancient City in N City, a scenic ancient city with green mountains and rivers, pavilions, and terraces like a fairyland. The Ancient City was personally designed and overseen by the famous architect Teng Wen, which took him almost ten years to complete, from the eaves’ angles to the drainage between the structures, and even the stone paths between the buildings.
Even the gardens in front of and behind the houses, with their artificial mountains and streams, flowers, and trees, reflect the ancient philosophy of harmony between humans and nature, balancing the five elements.
In short, Teng Wen did his utmost to make this a genuinely "authentic" artificial ancient city.
Because Jiang Nuo was filming, he spent his days memorizing lines and practicing his role, keeping very busy. Meanwhile, Mu Qiuniang was leisurely holding an art book, drawing or strolling around, inciting envy.
The entire crew was most resentful that they were almost overwhelmed by the public displays of affection.
Every actor and crew member who had worked with Jiang Nuo before felt that he used to work diligently and deserved his rise to fame and popularity. But now...
Did shooting a film really call for this level of constant PDA?
Every time someone saw him off-screen, he was either hugging or feeding his wife. If his wife wasn’t around for even a short moment, he’d immediately panic, make several calls, asking where she was, saying he missed her.
Oh, come on! You’ve only been apart for a few minutes!
"That’s enough!" said Wei Manman, who played the female lead. A past Oscar winner, she had worked with Jiang Nuo several times before and knew his quirks well.
However, this man, so particular with everyone else, completely changed when it came to his wife—only for her.
Several days of these overt displays left Wei Manman almost overwhelmed.
So what if you have a wife? Do you have to flaunt it?
She was tempted to find a man to marry, just to dish it back out.
"Can’t take it either?" Xu Dachang, sitting next to her, asked with a smirk.
Despite his not-so-flattering name, he’s a textbook fresh-faced young idol, with skin as fair and tender as a woman’s. His slim build and delicate features gave him an inherently ethereal vibe, especially in period costumes.
Xu Dachang was a child star. Though he had never won major awards, he was a regular on TV, enjoying popularity equivalent to top domestic stars.
The reason he came to play Xu Xian in "Fahai Doesn’t Understand Love" was his friendship with Mu Nan. He was just a year younger than Mu Nan, but their families were close, and Xu Dachang’s first-ever role was directed by Mu Nan’s father.
That role had catapulted him to stardom, turning him into an in-demand child actor.
When Xu Dachang was famous, Mu Nan was still in middle school, uninterested in acting and a bit rebellious.
Mu Nan’s father always praised Xu Dachang for his maturity, and for a time, Xu Dachang was the "perfect kid" that annoyed Mu Nan.
They had frequent childhood spats, but as they grew older, their relationship improved. As the saying goes, those who fight the most as kids often grow closer. If not for their different surnames, outsiders might mistake them for brothers.
Later, Mu Nan was admitted to the directing program at the Central Academy of Drama, starting his study of filmmaking. Xu Dachang was still in high school and could only act during school breaks. Now, Mu Nan is a popular director, and Xu Dachang is about to graduate from university and officially become a professional actor.
This film would be Xu Dachang’s first movie released after his university graduation.
"You’ll have plenty to suffer later."
Wei Manman was a few years older than Xu Dachang, but she maintained herself so well that she looked no older. Moreover, she had taken on the ethereal older sister look, and paired with the former child star Xu Dachang, they indeed looked like a couple.
They got along well, chatting for hours in a corner about beauty and fashion.
Sometimes, Wei Manman would tease him, "Why does a guy like you know so much about beauty stuff?"
Xu Dachang shrugged, helplessly saying, "I had no choice but to understand. The older sisters in the circle love chatting with me, always about this."
After all, Xu Dachang had been pretty and adorable as a child, often having his cheeks pinched and being spoiled with treats by actresses. He grew up hearing topics mostly about beauty and fashion.
The only blessing was that, although Xu Dachang grew up with women and lacked some masculinity, this is the era of beautiful young men, which worked to his advantage.
