The Second Son of the Marquis Wants to Laze Around-Chapter 105: Memories-3 End
Chapter 105: Memories-3 End
...
"...Okay. I’ll try."
—SMACK!
"ARGH!"
The moment he said that, his master smacked him on the head again without hesitation.
"Don’t try. Just do it," the man said stoically before turning around to walk away.
"Do you really have to hit me every time?!" the boy cried out in frustration, both hands on his aching head.
The master paused mid-step, causing the boy to flinch in fear of another strike. But instead, the man glanced back over his shoulder, expression still as lazy and uninterested as ever.
"By the way, brat..." he asked in that same flat voice,
"Why do you want to get stronger?"
The boy froze.
’That question again.’
The master had asked him this many times before. Every time, the boy gave an answer. And every time, the man just replied with a simple "I see" and moved on, never showing any reaction.
He never explained why he kept asking.
But after traveling with him for years, seeing the world, experiencing hardship, and witnessing both cruelty and kindness—
The boy thought he finally understood.
He looked down at his hand. They were rough, scarred, and calloused from constant training and battle. A testament to his journey.
Clenching his fist tightly, he answered with quiet resolve.
"Because I want to change the world."
The master didn’t say anything. He just listened.
"I want to have the power to destroy evil and protect the good. And to do that, I need to become the strongest martial artist in all of Murim."
His voice grew stronger with every word.
"I’ll conquer the entire martial world and shape it into a place of peace. A world where anyone can learn martial arts—no matter their background or bloodline. A world with no discrimination. No hatred."
"I will become the future... Heavenly Demonic Sovereign!"
As he spoke, a powerful gust of wind swept around them. Both of their hair and robes fluttered dramatically, and the air crackled with determination.
The boy looked heroic.
Powerful.
Inspired.
...
His master, still facing away, let out a small sigh and muttered in his usual stoic voice,
"What kind of cringe, long-ass answer was that?"
"..."
The boy’s expression instantly collapsed into one of stunned, broken disappointment. The atmosphere shattered like glasses as the cool air disappeared in an instant.
"Tch. No wonder your backstory sounds so damn cliché," the master added casually as he began flying back up toward the top of the mountain.
Red-faced and flustered, the boy screamed up after him in embarrassment and rage.
"Can’t you just be NICE to your student for ONCE?!"
"Why are you always like— *SLAP!* ACK!"
...
...
...
Back in the final floor of the Aberration Dungeon.
...
Inside the ruined boss room—now a complete mess after the brutal fight between the Abyssal Reaper and the black-haired boy—
In the center of the room, Eren lay flat on his back, unmoving.
His body was still, but after a few moments, his eyelids twitched slightly.
Then slowly, they opened, revealing a pair of sharp, crimson-red eyes staring up at the dark dungeon ceiling.
"..."
He blinked several times, trying to remember what had happened—
When suddenly, a bright green holographic screen popped up in front of him, followed by an annoyingly familiar voice.
[MASTER! Master! Are you okay?!]
It was his annoying AI system, Useless.
And it was panicking.
Hearing that obnoxious voice scream in his ears, Eren’s eyes twitched with visible annoyance.
Looking at its Master’s condition again, Useless continued scanning him.
[Phew... Thank goodness. Everything looks okay. You’re not dead.]
The floating interface hovered in front of him like a worried mother hen.
Eren finally opened his mouth and muttered in a stoic dull eyes.
"...Why am I not dead?"
[Huh?]
Useless fell silent for a moment, stunned by what its master had just said.
.....
Two minutes later, it explained everything that happened after Eren lost consciousness. How his body had been sliced clean in half and was on the verge of death. But fortunately, since he had managed to defeat the boss and complete the quest in time, Useless was able to use System Points again—rewinding all his injuries and ultimately saving his life.
[And that’s everything...]
After hearing the full explanation, Eren gave the system a skeptical look. He remained lying flat on the ground, too lazy to even attempt standing up.
"So... you used SP?" he asked, raising an eyebrow.
The system immediately trembled, clearly panicking.
[I-I had to! I did it to save you! You were seconds away from dying! There was no other choice!]
Eren rubbed his temples as if warding off a migraine. Then, he let out a long, weary sigh—not from the intense battle he’d just endured, or even because Useless had used System Points without permission. No, what truly annoyed him was the flashback he’d just experienced.
To have such an annoying, out-of-nowhere flashback while on the verge of death—that was what really annoyed him.
He had recalled an obnoxious, prideful black-haired kid. A face and voice from his past memories that he doesn’t care to even remember or recall it. But now, as he lay there, he couldn’t help but wonder...
’Why that memory of all things? I don’t even care about it nor is it something memorable to even remember.’
’Was it because I used that cringe move?’ he thought, with a dull half eyes, frowning.
The attack he used to defeat the boss was originally that brat’s sword technique. In the heat of the moment, when he had to think fast, the first thing that came to his mind when he was thinking of a powerful attack, was that brat’s flashy move.
"Huuuuuh~"
Eren let out another long, bored sigh and covered his face with one hand. Just remembering how he mimicked that guy’s sword style—and even muttered its dramatic, cringe name—made him want to bury himself on bed and sleep for years.
Still, he couldn’t help but wonder...
Was it the sword technique that triggered the memory, or—
’Was it because of a certain someone who ■■■■ it interesting?’ he mused, as his eyes narrowing slightly as he stared up at the dungeon ceiling...
Or not.
....
Anyway, pushing those weird thoughts aside, Eren finally sat up with a groan and opened the notification panel. After all, he’d been bombarded with many notification bell.
