Chapter 483: 246 Brothers (First Update)

Minmin knew how to dodge the garden guards. He rushed all the way out of his residence to the bustling avenue. There, he saw a carriage waiting by the roadside. Panting, he walked up to it, “To the Healing Hands Hall!”

The coachman looked at him strangely.

He tore off a jade pendant from his waist: “Here!”

It was top-grade mutton-fat jade. Although the coachman could not tell real jade from fake, the tassel of the jade pendant had a gold ingot hanging from it, and that was undeniably real gold.

The coachman was instantly delighted: “Alright, alright, hop in, young master! To the Healing Hands Hall on Xuanwu Avenue, right? I’ll get you there safely!”

“You must hurry!” Minmin told the coachman.

The coachman laughed: “Alright, alright, faster, give the horse a good thrashing!”

Minmin was lucky because this was indeed a carriage-for-hire, and not a privately-owned vehicle of some wealthy household. Otherwise, the coachman might not have accepted Minmin’s offer.

Furthermore, the coachman wasn’t a loafer either.

Soon, the carriage arrived at the Healing Hands Hall.

Minmin jumped off the carriage, feeling an itch in his throat. He coughed a couple of times.

He had left in a hurry this morning and forgot to take his medicine.

The staff at the Medical Hall recognized this little patient. A young pharmacy apprentice came over and asked: “Young Master, are you here for a follow-up? Where are your parents?”

Minmin didn’t answer his question but asked solemnly, “Where’s Jingkong?”

He was the Prince’s son, the Sovereign’s grandson. His royal aura was engraved in his bones. When he was serious, even the young pharmacy apprentice was taken aback.

The bewildered apprentice stammered, “You mean Miss Gu’s younger brother? He didn’t come to the Medical Hall. He should be at school.”

“Where does he go to school?” Minmin asked further.

“Guozijian.” The apprentice replied.

“Which way to Guozijian?” asked Minmin.

“Go straight ahead, see the cloth shop ahead? Head west from there.”

Minmin ran off as soon as the apprentice finished speaking.

The apprentice scratched his head, utterly confused.

Minmin headed for Guozijian.

Classes at Guozijian were still in session and he couldn’t get in. He mentioned his diplomacy position from Liang Country, but no one believed him.

He was left no choice but to wait at the entrance.

He had forgotten to dress warmly before leaving home, wearing just his regular indoor clothes which were kind of thin.

It was a sunny day, however, the wind was not mild. The cool breeze caused him to shiver slightly.

Wandering near the gate, he squatted under a big tree watching ants, then looked up counting the leaves on the tree. He didn’t know how much time he spent doing this, but finally, the classes were dismissed at Guozijian.

The gate was opened, and many students streamed out. Minmin plunged into the crowd, swimming against the current and entering Guozijian.

Once he opened his mouth, it wasn’t hard to find the primary school section.

Jingkong walked out of the primary school in a leisurely pace.

All the other children from the primary school hurried to the Dining Hall for meals. Amidst the large group of seven-, eight-, and nine-year-olds, the four-year-old Jingkong stood out.

Minmin spotted this little glutinous rice dumpling at first glance – small face serious, cute, and chubby. Did his mother like this kind of kids?

After scrutinizing, Minmin found this little guy less annoying.

He ran over to him: “Jingkong!”

Jingkong was startled by the sudden giant figure. He looked up.

Indeed, he looked up.

Being so short meant he had to look up at anyone, which was pretty annoying!

“It’s you?” Jingkong’s little face turned serious again,” Are you here to pick a fight again?”

“No!” Minmin felt there were too many people around to act effectively. He grabbed Jingkong’s hand.

My God, such a tiny hand!

Minmin was afraid he would break the little hand. But why was this little hand so soft?

Minmin held and squeezed the little hand, then squeezed again. Hmm, it was fun to play with.

“What do you want?” Ningfulu·Lord·Jingkong asked with extreme disdain.

Ah, he almost forgot the main thing.

Minmin scratched his head embarrassingly, telling Jingkong: “Come with me!”

Then, he yanked Jingkong out of Guozijian.

Jingkong cried out: “Where are you taking me? I need to go home to eat!”

The primary school started earlier today, and Shuaixin Hall ended later, causing Xiao Liulang and Jingkong to perfectly miss each other.

This situation had happened before. Jingkong would not wander off and would always obediently wait at the entrance of the primary school for Xiao Liulang. Today, Minmin dragged him away, leaving Jingkong confused.

Minmin pulled Jingkong into an unoccupied corner, and seriously, yet hesitantly said to him: “Alright, I have something to tell you, and you might find it hard to accept. But I swear every word I say is true!”

As you would expect from a child from the royal palace, his storytelling skills were spot on.

Jingkong looked at him strangely: “What on earth do you want to say?”
