The President's Pregnant, Ex-Wife-Chapter 457 - Everyone deserves a chance at love
Chapter 457: Chapter 457 - Everyone deserves a chance at love
"Who is it? And why are you smiling so much?" Sabrina asked.
"Our joy is complete. I’ve just been informed that Zayla’s father had a heart attack and died after finding out that his daughter had died in prison," Robin lowered the phone and spoke excitedly.
It was the first time Sabrina saw such a level of excitement in him and could tell that he was indeed very happy about the news.
"He had no idea that she faked her death and was rather baked?" Sabrina asked with a hint of mockery.
When evil people fall, everyone is happy and she was not an exception. She also felt safer and felt that her children would have a more peaceful life.
"Coincidentally, he just found out today, following suit," amusement laced Robin’s voice as he spoke. Sabrina felt like celebrating so much that she felt restricted as a nursing mother.
"I wish I could have a sip of wine."
Robin smiled sadly at her, as he couldn’t grant her wish this time. "Don’t worry. There are other exciting things waiting for you," he pinched her cheek playfully, just as the villa buzzed with music.
"I don’t see whiskey in your wine cabinet," Devin interrupted their moment, Robin forced a smile and warned,
"Please make sure you don’t get drunk."
Devin scowled, not agreeing to the warning. "Isn’t it the reason why we are having the party in your house? I can just sleep it off," he shrugged.
He was among family and couldn’t understand the reason why Robin was being overly restrictive of him.
"You also have a newborn to take care of," Robin reminded him but Devin glanced in the direction of his three-day-old baby and smiled,
"Laura and grandma are doing a good job. Your grandma seems to want more grandkids and Jacob is doing a great job too."
Robin was speechless. He knew that Jacob was with the twins and Mark because of how much time he wanted to spend with Laura.
As such, he didn’t join the partying men. "Be careful Devin, your tolerance for hard drink is quite low," Robin warned once again.
With Daniel, he wasn’t disturbed due to his high tolerance for liquor, but it wasn’t the same for Devin.
"I won’t take more than a glass," Devin insisted. He didn’t have such drinks at home and only enjoyed them that night at the club when he got drunk and was rescued by Daniel and Robin.
"Okay. Then I will show you," Robin gave up and said, but Sabrina’s eyes widened and she asked seriously,
"Are you really going to allow him to drink?"
Robin was uneasy by the way Sabrina glared at him. "Come on, my queen, everybody needs to celebrate, but I will keep an eye on him," he said reassuringly, as he began to walk Devin to where he kept those hard drinks.
Sabrina wanted to stop them but was pulled back by her best friend. Today was a happy day for everyone, and Matilda didn’t want her man to be left out.
It was just as he said. They were among friends and family.
"Brina, I got you orange juice," Matilda said. Sabrina frowned a little. Merely seeing the orange juice, she felt nauseated, as she had had too much during her time of pregnancy.
"I haven’t had orange juice ever since I gave birth," she revealed. Matilda was amazed and asked,
"So what do you want?" She never thought that Sabrina could get over her obsession for orange drinks.
"Grape juice, I guess."
"Grape juice for me too," Lizzy said beside the two women. As Matilda got the drinks, Lizzy asked, "So, is it that painful?"
Both Sabrina and Matilda gave her a look, forcing her to elaborate. "I mean, labor."
Sabrina was beginning to have a headache, not believing they were going to have this conversation again. Lizzy never stops asking silly questions.
"No. It’s the coolest thing in the world," Sabrina replied sarcastically. Matilda shook her head and said to Lizzy,
"It’s better not to think about such things. Just enjoy your life to the fullest. Who knows, you might even have triplets and have to opt for a Caesarean."
Lizzy didn’t seem happy with the idea. Both Sabrina and Matilda had pushed their babies themselves, so why should she be the one to undergo a caesarean?
"Can’t one push out triplets?" She asked in an almost teary voice. Sabrina’s headache felt worse.
"Some do, but doctors don’t advise it. The stress of labor is something you just have to endure for yourself," she advised her sister.
"I wish to have quintuplets and I will push them all out by myself," Lizzy said joyfully and took a glass of grape juice from Matilda.
Nobody said anything to counter what she had as their attention shifted to the men who were battling in a dance against one another.
"Gosh, Brina, did you know that Robin could dance like that?" Matilda was wide-eyed as she asked.
The men cheered for Robin as he turned the middle of the living room into a dance floor and showed off some sexy dance moves.
Sabrina laughed and blushed. "I never knew that Devin could even dance," she said as Robin passed the spotlight to Devin, who was also dancing like crazy. Maybe it was thanks to the vodka.
Matilda was shocked to see her husband dancing like that, and the next moment, it was Daniel’s turn. The women watched as the men took turns to dance their hearts out.
Even Jacob had joined them along the way, and from the way Laura was staring at him, Sabrina became suspicious and excused herself from the two women by her side.
"Laura, what is going on between you and Jacob?" Sabrina asked suspiciously. It was all she ever wanted since she set them up but had no idea when things picked up between them.
Laura smiled shyly, "nothing Sabrina, why do you ask?"
"I see the way you look at him."
Laura smiled, but this time, it was a bitter one. The twins began crying due to the noise, so grandma took them away with Mark.
"Sabrina, love isn’t meant for me." Laura was suddenly moody as she spoke. Sabrina wrapped her arm around her and gave her a glass of grape juice.
"I disagree. Everyone deserves a chance at love," Sabrina countered.
Laura stared at her for a while and said absentmindedly, "Even if I explain it, you won’t understand."
