The President's Pregnant, Ex-Wife-Chapter 429 - I’m so happy, Lizzy
Chapter 429: Chapter 429 - I’m so happy, Lizzy
Robin felt the urge to pee after cleaning the stains from his suit. He couldn’t completely get rid of it as it would require professional service, but at least it was less visible.
Still, his anger towards that girl could not subside, and thinking about it, he might find a way to confront her again if perhaps Sabrina was not watching.
Robin could not just accept that the girl accidentally spilled the drink on him and his wife. He was at the dancefloor where nobody was holding drinks at that moment, so how dare she bring a drink? She was not even dancing.
As soon as he stepped into one of the cubicles to pee, two people, a man and a woman, walked out discreetly from one of the cubicles.
Sabrina went to the washroom with Lizzy, lifting the tail and veil of the gown while Lizzy tried to get rid of the stains in it for her, seeming upset about the whole thing.
"How could she blindly spill drinks on you like this?" Lizzy lamented.
She spent so much time and dedication on the gown that her blood boiled to see the stains, though they weren’t much like that of Robin.
Sabrina was so happy that she could not, for today, see any wrong in others. Stain or no stain, she got married once again to the man she loved and she had changed into her dream man, treating her better than she imagined.
How could she allow something as trivial as spilling a drink ruin her mood at this moment?
"It was an accident, Lizzy. I don’t think anyone would be so stupid to intentionally pull something like that in front of Robin," Sabrina smiled and said, admiring herself in the mirror.
She indeed looked prettier than she imagined, as if she was a teenage princess in a fairy tale.
Lizzy understood that her sister’s excitement was clouding her judgment, but due to the accident she suffered, Lizzy had matured and was no longer as naïve as she was before.
"Then you missed it. I don’t think it was right for you to stop Robin from scolding her. I still believe that she knew what she was doing," Lizzy spoke seriously, while using a wet handkerchief to reduce the visibility of the stains.
Her heart sunk when she realized that Sabrina was not giving her the expected attention but was rather absent-minded, admiring herself in the mirror.
Lizzy was happy to see her sister so carefree in a very long time, but with all the dangers around, she somehow had to preach the fact to her.
Brina, I know that Robin loves you, but that shouldn’t stop you from being possessive of him. You should have been the one to send the woman away from him or make her pay for what she did," Lizzy said seriously.
Sabrina stiffened, her gaze shifted from the mirror and finally settled on her kid sister.
"Since when did my sister become like this?" she asked half-jokingly. Lizzy forced a smile and retorted,
"Since I discovered and understood the meaning of love and almost lost my husband in that accident."
Her eyes were suddenly glassy, and Sabrina felt terrible. However, Lizzy’s mood quickly brightened as she did not want to ruin Sabrina’s day.
"I am so glad to hear about your lecture, my dear love doctor sister," Sabrina pinched Lizzy’s cheek.
The latter forced a smile and remarked, "Fine, keep joking with me. The fact that you and Robin are married again does not mean that other women would just close their eyes and accept it, you know?"
This time, Lizzy’s words had gotten into Sabrina so much that she snapped out of her dreamy love excitement and said,
"I think you have a point. I have loved and trusted him so much that I forgot it wasn’t just about him but other women out there. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. So, what about Daniel? Did you ever warn any of his girls?" Sabrina asked seriously, trying to picture her kid sister issuing a strong warning to some girl who dared to look at Daniel.
Lizzy shook her head and put the handkerchief aside. She already knew it would be impossible to get all the stains out.
Also, before throwing the bouquet, Sabrina would change into different clothes since she and Robin would be leaving for their honeymoon right after the wedding.
Laura and the twins would go with a different jet. Robin had decided to remove that responsibility from his grandmother’s shoulders, feeling that it would be too stressful for her.
It was for this reason that Laura had to be the one to go with them to take care of the twins during the honeymoon.
If not for the breastmilk and the possibility of Sabrina facing engorgement because of it, there would have been no need for her.
"I never met any of them. He said that he was never committed to any woman and since he used to pay them for their service, it was natural for him to have power over them. He never even allowed any woman into his house before we met," Lizzy explained.
Sabrina was impressed. "I think I love that Daniel is a very focused person."
"Yes, that’s true. Now let’s go. Robin might be waiting for you already," Lizzy said with a smile.
Once upon a time, everyone in the family was gloomy and single, but suddenly, joy found them all.
They all got married, and the cries and laughter of their children were on the way. "I’m so happy, Lizzy," Sabrina said earnestly, and Lizzy’s heart rejoiced as well.
"I know because I’m very happy too, but I think we should check on Matilda. She doesn’t look well."
"Are you sure?" Sabrina asked, suddenly feeling guilty for not checking on Matilda as she should have.
However, Sabrina was shocked by the way Lizzy matured overnight and became very observant. Though Sabrina hated that the accident happened, she was still happy to see this side of her sister.
"She reminds me of when I saw you in labor at the hospital," Lizzy revealed, and Sabrina’s guilt escalated.
"Are you thinking what I’m thinking?" Sabrina asked, and Lizzy nodded her head.
"She doesn’t want to miss your wedding, so she might just be holding back and enduring the pain like you did."
Sabrina was not liking this as her mind was in turmoil. "But that could be dangerous, especially when she has problems with her womb."
"You are right," Lizzy agreed. Sabrina shook her head as guilt flashed in her eyes. She just wanted to be so happy today that she had not checked on her best friend who was in her last days.
"I feel terrible for not checking on her."
"No. You should be happy and you deserve it. Today is your day, and you just have to be happy," Lizzy said reassuringly, her words washing away Sabrina’s guilt.
As they reached the entrance, Robin was indeed standing there, so Lizzy went ahead, saying, "I will go find Daniel."
Sabrina did not stop her, but when Robin spoke, she frowned imperceptibly, as discomfort flung her.
"Sabrina, you look beautiful."
