The President's Pregnant, Ex-Wife-Chapter 15 – Not making headway with Robin
Chapter 15: Chapter 15 – Not making headway with Robin
The word marriage did not sound attractive to Robin. He was careful to not let anyone including the media know that he and Sabrina were divorced for reasons best known to him so how could he announce his marriage to Zayla? His lips pressed tightly, as he thought of the best way to approach the matter.
"Zayla, it’s just been two days and you are already talking about marriage."
Zayla blinked and her eyes turned red, as waves of shock flung through her. She was smart enough to understand that Robin was not thinking about marriage anytime soon.
"But I’m already pregnant and I don’t want to have my child out of wedlock. You married Sabrina for three years but she could not give you what I’m giving you after a night," Zayla said bitterly.
It’s been years and Robin has changed so much from who he used to be. This man was not one to easily be manipulated and Zayla felt like a loser with each passing day. It was just hard to get through to him, since he managed her like his chain of companies, only giving her what he thought was necessary but not what she wanted.
"I did not marry Sabrina from my own will. It was a business deal between our parents."
The revelation was shocking to Zayla, she felt hot all over. She always thought that Sabrina must have seduced Robin to get the ring. "Really?"
"Yes. That’s why I need time," Robin said softly, Zayla gulped. She lost the villa and Robin was not ready for another marriage so how would she save her father’s company in two months?
Taking deep breaths, she asked, "How long are we looking at?"
"I don’t know. There are so many events coming up. Most of them, we shall be attending together," Robin responded. He did not want to take Zayla to those events but since he used to go with different women in the past, no one would think it was because he was divorced. He never even wore his ring so that side of the matter was not a big deal.
"And how are you going to introduce me at such events?" Zayla asked. She wanted Robin to understand that she needed a title. She could not allow herself to be branded as a mistress.
"Zayla, there are stages in relationships. This is my first time going through a normal process so please don’t rush it. You are the woman so don’t take up my role. Allow me to do everything at my pace, okay?"
Zayla forced a smile, feeling like she lost everything and Robin was the only winner. He could have fun with other women but will leave her starved, without a title, and the villa. How bad could it get? "Okay but can you not fuck other girls?"
Robin frowned. He has been a golden boy since high school. It got worse in college and was one of the reasons his father felt like he needed a wife to tame him. Even after that, nothing changed. He sneered,
"Zayla, if you don’t want me to lie to you, then don’t make such a request again." novelbuddy.cσ๓
Zayla was teary-eyed. She wished that she did not love him so much. It would have made it easy because this man was killing her softly yet, she could do nothing about it. "I thought that men change when they find the woman they love."
Robin held both of her shoulders, stared her in the eyes, and asked, "Love and sex are two different things. Don’t mix them. Do men fuck prostitutes because they love them?"
"No," Zayla shook her head. Robin smiled with satisfaction before he released her shoulders and stood on his feet. Whiles looking below, he announced,
"I will go to my room now."
Zayla watched as the figure disappeared. She sat back in the sofa in deep thought before picking her phone and jotting down her next plan of action. She had to know more about Robin’s likes and dislikes but at least she knew that he liked homecooked meals. She might not be a good cook but it was never too late to learn.
She also recalled that after the effort she had put in to make the penthouse a home, Robin had not commented on it. Well, she could not blame him so much from the state in which he returned home last night but there were others things she could do to make him the man she wanted him to be. Then, she could convince him to give her the villa as its rightful owner.
After noting down a few points she closed her eyes and dozed off. By the time she woke up, the cleaners had arrived and Robin had already left. Good enough, he ordered breakfast for her but she meant to give him the surprise of his life, as she stared at one of the maids who just walked in.
